It appears we don't have one of these, so I'm making it. Here's a pumpkin I carved today. I know it's unoriginal, but I'm proud of it anyway damnit! And behind the spoiler tags one of it in the light:

Okay, I can't seem to find 3 games I want, which is sad. (Okay, I can, but I want them on PC so...) I'm such a consumer whore. I buy almost every game I want right when I want it, but then when a good sale like this comes around I feel like I *need* to buy something... #firstworldproblems?

Air conditioning is standard depending on where you live. For instance here in Kansas it's pretty damn standard, but then again it gets pretty warm here in the summer. You don't want to live somewhere where the high temperatures top 105 F (40 C) for weeks at a time without an air conditioner. You will die (and people do when their air conditioners break). Yeah, that's definitely a problem here too.

Amazon's having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on, as near as I can tell, every single console game they carry (not counting preorders). So yeah, pretty fucking badass. Too bad it doesn't apply to PC games. *Edit* - Okay, it's not all the games, it doesn't apply to Battlefield 3, so I'm sure there are others. However, it still applies to about 160 360 games, 150 PS3 games, 250 Wii games, 40 3DS games and 230 DS games.

I've had bad luck with OCZ RAM also. Maybe we should amend that to "don't ever buy anything from OCZ"

Topic title says it all. I'd like to try to get a feel for how many people we'll have available for campaign coop as well as the competitive multi. Oh, and apparently there's been some confusion about this, but Anniversary only supports 2-player coop just like Halo did when it first launched, though it does work over Live now. Gametrailers even said something about coop of any kind being an added feature that didn't exist in the original version. Anyway, who's getting it at launch or reasonably soon thereafter? *Edit* - Launch is November 15.

So I launched Origin for some reason, and noticed I have a giant blue box telling me I have no friends. Now, even though I'm sure nobody has very many games on Origin yet (I'm guessing all anyone has is Battlefield 3), I still thought it would be a good idea to share our IDs just in case. Mine is TheMightyEthan.

At least you can swim in GTAIV. In 3 you would have been completely SOL.

I didn't think this lived up to its potential. Your choices had basically no effect until the ending cutscene. Lead to some pretty serious ludonarrative dissonance.

Yeah, I'm not sure that there being "one timeline" means that there wasn't a split adult/child line after OoT, I think that might be reading too much into the comment. I took it just as meaning that the devs consider them to all be related, not standalone. About the music: I don't know if that music specifically is from the game, but all the music in Skyward Sword is recorded from an actual orchestra. CD-quality audio, no midi crap.

When I try to launch Steam and my connection's not working it asks me if I want to run in offline mode...

Current value of my Steam account: $1224.08. What I've actually spent, not counting gifts: $448.64 (counting retail purchases) What I've spent counting gifts: $489.11 I feel like I should count gifts I've bought since the total value is counting gifts I've received. Either way though, I've spent much less than half the current value, which makes me happy.

I think for the DLC that's like that you can import your Warden from the main game, so if you beat the main game, then import into the stand-alone DLCs, then import into Awakening you can get a continuous playthrough.

I guess what I should say is that any "explanation" derived from that trailer is pure speculation, because there's no context for anything shown, it's just a series of 2 second clips. Because yeah, I did pick up on those two things you mentioned, but I also wasn't sure if I was reading too much into it.

I just skimmed this thread, so I apologize if someone else already said this, but one question that keeps getting asked is "What can better hardware do besides better graphics?" We talked about that in the Xbox 720 thread. The answer is, we don't know what better hardware can do besides better graphics because until the better hardware is there for devs to play with no one is investing the resources in figuring out what they can do with it. It used to be that you could look at PC games to get an idea of what console games could do in the future, but that's no longer the case because almost every major release, the ones where they might really be pushing the tech available, is multiplat now and therefore limited by what the consoles can do.

I watched that trailer, and honestly it just looked like a bunch of clips I've already seen in other trailers, and it explained nothing.

I was guilty of getting enough enchanted armor to make myself 120% invisible... The game got boring after that.

It's been too long since I've played them for me to defend my opinion to any kind of depth. I can say that I didn't find Vice City boring or flat, and as far as the character goes GTA III had the silent protagonist, and it's hard to get much more boring or flat than that. As for San Andreas I didn't like a lot of the new mechanics they introduced (especially the motherfucking gang territories...) One thing I liked a lot about Vice City was the process of becoming a real estate mogul.

It is, though I was never able to really get into it. For $5 though I'd say it's worth a shot (not sure what they're charging in your moon currency).

4) sounds completely fucking awesome. I was skeptical initially, but Bioware is doing a good job of soothing my fears about the multiplayer. Also, I'm adding a poll about which system people are getting this game for so we can have some idea of where our multiplayer partners might come from (even though it's still 6 months away...)

Yeah, I'm definitely glad consoles have been dragging down the technical requirements of games; it means I don't have to upgrade my PC as often. The way I've rolled over the last two console generations, and I think it's worked out well, is that when the generation first launches I get one of the consoles and play my multiplats on there for a while. Then, about halfway through the console's lifecycle, when the PCs capable of playing the same games have dropped in price, I upgrade my PC and switch to primarily playing games on it.

lol, I like that it costs 20 cents more to buy the Dead Space Pack than it does to buy Dead Space 1 & 2 separately. *Edit* - Are they doing daily deals, or should I just go ahead and buy Dead Space 2 right now? I was holding off cause I knew Steam would have a Halloween sale.

To be fair, I've never seen a disposal that requires any of those steps (beyond flipping the switch to "on"). People always say you have to turn the water on but it will run without the water, it just makes a terrible grinding noise while it does so. But yeah, any kid whose arms are long enough to reach the switch while they have their hand in the disposal is old enough to know better. However, two kids working together...

I liked GTA IV a lot, but Vice City is definitely the pinnacle of the series so far, for all the reasons you just said.
