Yeah, that was my first reaction: they've already been localized.

But if it's not being overdone and it fits the aesthetic of the level, what's the issue? That's what I said: if it's not being overdone it's not an issue, but that it might be a sign of a larger underlying issue. I just didn't use those exact words.

I also like having disc copies, because I don't trust the digital copy I "purchased" to not just evaporate into nothingness some day. I'll still buy digital copies, but only if they're really cheap (either in absolute terms or if they're significantly cheaper than the disc version).

So, GMG just refunded my purchase, no questions asked. Pretty awesome of them.

/prays he doesn't have need to replace an HDD in the near future...

Are you positive? Because that page you linked says it's only for Video Unlimited.
-
Admittedly I only played the demo, but I felt that the game required almost no player input. My experience playing was not meaningfully different than my experience watching videos of other people playing. There was almost nothing I had to actually do. I prefer my games to require more active involvement than that.

While one building being reused is not an issue in and of itself, it speaks to an underlying laziness in the game development which could very well be an issue.

Why is MGS 1 not included in the HD Collection?

Eh, it's only for their Video Unlimited service. Not to rain on your parade or anything.

HOW DARE YOU GIVE SUCH AN UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME GAME SUCH A TERRIBLY TERRIBLE SCORE?!

Wii.

It's neither telling me nor forcing me, I'm doing it of my own free will because the directionality gets so damn far off it becomes unusable.

I was worried that would happen after the whole fiasco with the heads getting fired and half the team leaving. It's the reason I didn't pre-order this. I've always loved all the IW CoD's but never really cared much for the ones developed by different studios, and I was worried with all the change up this wouldn't feel like an IW game. Guess I may have been right (obviously one review alone can't confirm that though).

I think everyone else was jeering in jest, but Seuss's post seemed serious. And reading WAY too much into the picture.

So played the leaked demo. P cool. Though I'm glad I did the bird flying now and had a chance to get the hang of it; at first it was kind of frustrating and stupid, so I'm glad that that wasn't my very first impression of the game when I actually got it. My fears were confirmed about the lack of use of the sensor bar though. I kept having to hit the recenter button about every 5 minutes, if not more than that. I hope that was just for the demo since there's a lot of interference at E3, and that in the final version it uses the sensor bar at least to have some idea where the tv is.

Is it actually running? I can't tell. It kind of looks like it's just walking really fast. (difference between walking and running: in running both/all feet are off the ground at the same time, in walking at least one foot is always on the ground)

A man's word is his bond, and all that? I agree wholeheartedly.

Motherfucking seriously? *Edit* - Just submitted my cancellation request. I'll wait till I can get it super cheap on either Steam or Amazon.

Mercury was like the only actual PSP game I played back when I had one. Everything else was emulators.

Heh, yea, we all see how relevant Halo is now that it's not the Xbox's poster child ?

I'm curious why you seem convinced that somehow a character's relevance/the quality of their games is related to whether or not the publisher owns the platform. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I actually would like to know what you base that on. It's just the impression I got. People seem to be more involved with a franchise the more a franchise is one of the platform's "faces". All the Uncharted review score drama going around that got me thinking. People are so adamant to defend something platform-specific that it creates hype and, in turn, seems to create a specific atmosphere. Uncharted, Gears of War, Sonic while Sega still made consoles, Mario, Zelda, the point of those franchises, in addition to being entertainment, is pushing forward the system they're on. The moment Mario or Zelda were to start being available on PC, PS and Xbox, I think it would be a step down from the "relevant" category and people wouldn't care that much for the games. tl;dr: I'm basing it on buyer's remorse and publisher hype. Sega has no motivation to hype Sonic games now beyond being Sonic games, and it was a mascot made to promote a console. It'll never reach such a level of relevance again, in my opinion, unless it creates some serious revolution in the platformer genre. Ah, that makes some sense. Not sure I agree with you, but I see where it's coming from now. Interesting that you picked GoW instead of Halo though.

Why is it depressing?

Well you can get a GTX 470 at Newegg for $190, which I know is a little outside of your price range. They do have 460s in your price range. I know that the ATI's are cheaper per theoretical performance, but in my experience they just don't work as well, they have compatibility issues and glitches, and just generally aren't as well supported. Is there a reason you don't want to just replace it other than the fact that ATI's are cheaper?

I feel like quitting early should count as a loss. Or at the very least be tracked as an extra statistic on your win/loss page, so people can see. Wins: 52 Losses: 6 Quit Early: 78
