  1. Seen it tonight. Good, but I was hoping for more after the last movie. What bugged me:
  2. I am playing through Nier and I cannot believe how utterly depressing this is Even more than I was told.
  3. Good mic recommendations? I'd like to record some stuff without sounding like I am at the bottom of a well

      Any $3-5 table mic, really.

Yeah, Blue Snowballs or some cheapo mic. Everything in between is probably just going to perform like the 5 dollar cheapo, as the tech doesn't seem to change that much until you hit the $75 mark.

OK, now to figure out how to actually get a Blue Snowball shipped here...

  4. Oh boy, this is going to be a list... PC #1 Problem: my first PC had an issue that half the games I ran would either feature no sound, or would have delayed sound (1-2 second delay). Solution: turns out, the store I bought the PC from installed Windows 98 on a motherboard which had the "Designed specially for WinXP". Reasoning I got was "Windows XP is still new, thus unexplored. Who knows what kind of errors you'll get. Stick to tried and true." I installed Windows XP and the sound issue never happened again. Problem: lightning struck the modem. Problem: power surge melted the HDD. Problem: intense Summer heat without an AC literally made my motherboard and CRT monitor go bye-bye. PC #2: Problem: insane, constant, beeping. To give some context, because my dad "knew the store owner" (same person who sold us PC#1), so we got the PC more easily than we otherwise would have (like, on a 3 year payment, which otherwise wasn't an option). But since I lived 400km away due to college, we moved the PC 400km. And we had to deal with whatever we got. What we got was a constant high-pitched software (not hardware) beep. To work around it, we had to literally restart the PC and turn it back on again right away and hope it would stop. It was a 1 in 20 chance, so you can imagine how frustrating it was. To this day, I have no idea WHAT it was about. It seemed to be motherboard related, since I've swapped out some components, and at one time, a certain combination completely removed the beeping, but when I removed one of those new components (and left everything else there), it returned. Problem: Most recent one that murdered the old PC was very odd. I have no idea what had happened, but the PC would start up and just show the desktop and icons. You had to boot up Windows Explorer manually via task manager > new task. Even then, it refused to install almost any application. It refused to run almost any application, and even stopped supporting the DVD-Drives (it would work, but just tell me the device doesn't support UDF). Nothing I did worked, and I tried everything from safemode, to attempting to boot up via USB. I couldn't even reinstall Windows after a HDD wipe. It was THAT bad. Note, this happened 6 months after I stopped using said PC and left it to my brother and roommate. PC #3: None so far *knocks on wood*
  5. I've been reading about this and will probably pick it up when it releases, at least to try it out. The skill system from FFX was what I liked the most about that game, and the fact that Path of Exile has something similar has piqued my interest.
  6. Playing through Ninja Blade for most part right now.
  7. I called this years ago. People who jumped into gaming this gen aren't going to stick around for the future. Gaming just happened to be the latest fad. People are moving on to smartphones and smelling skunks or whatever.
  8. For the new P&P campaign I'm GMing.
  9. Beta Weekend is done. This game looks really good. It's not AS GOOD as I had hoped for, but it's still very good. Definitely playing it. So far, the general plan is to get all Euros from the forum on the same server. Kovach and I will be making a Seal Clubbers' Clubbing Club guild. Nothing hardcore, just play when you can, how much you can, and build guild reputation to make life for everyone much easier. Aside from the two of us, Johnny will also be joining on the Euro side. Anyone else? The server we'll be playing on is Vabbi Gunnar's Hold. For you blokes across the pond, please use this thread to organize yourselves as well. Also, Elementalist is crazy fun. 11. My Max Payne 3 article made it into RPS's Sunday Papers. Hooray!

  12. Ran out of funds for The Walking Dead, but I'll live.
  13. Most cutscenes are unskippable because of the "Still loading" message in the corner.
  14. Yea, the core shooting is fun. But the only reason I'm not replaying it is because of the insane cutscenes. :/ It has a toon of stupid stuff, but it was still enjoyable to an extent.
  15. Thanks to the Steam sale, I was finally able to play MP3. Here are the thoughts on it: http://defaultprime.com/2012/07/19/max-payne-3-the-true-fall-of-max-payne/ The tl;dr version is: good game, shitty sequel.
  16. Max Payne 3. Don't play it if you want a Max Payne game.
  17. I take my coffee LIKE A MAN!
  18. Only a few minor hurdles to go over and I'm set for Gamescom.

Sonic Adventure 2 a great Sonic game? Hell no! I think it marked the beginning of the downfall. Adventure was a decent game and then Adventure 2 came out and people realised that Sonic wasn't the quality franchise it was before.

      CorgiShinobi

It was great, but personally I wouldn't go back to either of the Adventure games. I tried playing Adventure again and it didn't hold up, but then again I remember the game being buggy to begin with. I had a blast with Adventure 2, but that was also a simpler time.

I think the problem is that hindsight would tell us that "X game gave us this problem" like Shadow the Hedgehog isn't an issue with that game, but the games that continued with it. Even though I still have S...

Let it be known that Johnny uses the term "casual"! That dirty Swedish hypocrite.

  21. It's a "do or die" card. I'd only use it if there was no other way.
  22. This is what helped me get a job, actually. Went in all self-confident and decisive and got the job the next day.
  23. Unless we're talking about Sonic games. Then it's on.
