Account creation doesn't seem to be working for me. EDIT: It's 12:28 AM right now, still doesn't work for me. Anyone else got it working yet?
-
That does indeed look nice. I applied several months back, but I guess I never got accepted.
-
I heard you needed a crazy internet connection for it, otherwise it refuses to work.

Sniper itself isn't bad. I'm just not good with it because everyone moves around too fast for my liking. However, Demoman isn't that bad for offense, either. Not so much on CP maps, but they do pretty well on Payload, especially around corners, and if enemy Engineers have turrets set up.

Kawaii desu~! :3 What the hell does that even mean? Who does that? I mean is there anyone on Kotaku who did that? It's standard weeb behavior, pay it no mind. Mostly anime fantards do this, and last I recall, we didn't have much (or any) of them. If you end up meeting someone who does this, back away slowly and escape, or prepare to administer blunt force trauma with a heavy object.

Spy takes simplicity and complicates it. The basic strategy is "Get behind them, stab, get out" but the complexity about it is trying not to get spychecked by pyros and trying to maintain your disguise as long as you could. If you suck as spy, you can always just stand around waiting for a heavy-medic team or some snipers. I used to be excellent with spy until I crafted "Your Eternal Reward". That thing just spoiled me and made me rush in. Since then, I lost the patience and was only getting worse. On multiple occasions I always go after engineers. People on the opposite team can also seem to tell if I'm the spy, which is really annoying. Unusually enough, every time the engineer figures out who I am, a friendly Demoman always saves my ass. So I play Demoman in place of Spy nowadays. It's surprising at the amount of people who rage because I know how to hookshot my grenade by bouncing them off walls.

I know how that feels. Back before I moved to university, my family's previous downstairs residents had a chihuahua. They never let him inside to sleep, and when it got very, very cold during the winter, the thing would whimper and bark for just about several hours during the night. Then it'd get quiet and I could get to sleep, until it hit about 5-6 AM and the damn thing would start barking again; I never got any decent sleep until they moved out. This whole situation happened for most of the first two years of high school. On top of that, they were a bunch of jackasses and we had an unofficial bad rap with them when we called them out on their bullshit and they got all butthurt about it. Thankfully, we have newer (more sociable) neighbors now (cool people!). When I think back on it, I felt sorry for the poor thing, but at the time when it happened, I just wanted to rip the downstairs people a new one and leave a trail of blood and death to serve as a warning to anyone else who moved in next. If you're going to have a pet, go the whole fucking nine yards and treat it nicely.

I suck at Spy. I don't know how people do well at them. But I rock as anything else, but I am godlike at Medic. Any Heavy that has me as Medic will be guaranteed 3 ubers in one lifespan, unless they do something stupid like run into enemy turrets while I'm charging my uber.

Ultima Online. I tried it out on a whim, and liked it a lot. So many things are different from what I'm used to. And then there was that dick who stood at the exit to the sewers and everyone else couldn't get out 'cause he was blocking it. Asshole.

Two Worlds II, to me, was okay. Not good, not great, not fantastic. They had a lot going for it and fell short on just about everything. Also: 1. Find awesome game he doesn't know about with relatively low review score compared to his standard 2. Play it in front of him and have him revel in its awesomeness 3. Let him play it and revel in its awesomeness 4. Show him the score 5. Profit

I'm typing this on a Macbook Pro, which I bring back home with me on weekends from uni. I got fed up with trying to choose between models and laptop manufacturers and went with this because I thought it'd be reliable. So far, it hasn't failed me yet. And being able to use Boot Camp makes things better since I can install games on this, too.

My opinion: take the fall. Cut him out from your life. As far as things go, you're not the one losing anything here. Another thing: He's being awfully passive-aggressive about this. Again, his fault, not yours.

They still hold up pretty well, actually. The atmosphere never goes away with the Thief games. Some levels will still scare you crapless regardless of age.

Damn all you people and your nice rigs and/or gaming spaces. I don't have a camera, so I'll describe mine for you: It's a simple college desk, with a right-hand space for the seat. The left side of the desk has a multitude of drawers, which I usually use to stuff random crap in because I didn't bring a lot with me. Sitting on top of the desk are a multitude of papers from classes, my hooked-in iPod Touch (1st generation), 3 knocked-over cans of coke, and a sports bottle with my uni's initials on it. Along with it are my keyboard, mouse, modest LCD monitor (it has smudges in several places and doesn't reconfigure very well if you try to adjust it), and my two speakers, which I don't know when I got. In front of my right speaker is a pile of red envelopes from the New Year's past, my dorm keys, and my phone. To the left of all this, on top of the drawers side of the desk, is my rig. Which is a tower case of varying colors, and is missing the top cover. Here is a rudimentary drawing of what it looks like from a front shot:
-
My rig: CPU: Core 2 Duo e7200 RAM: 2 GB GFX: EVGA GeForce GTX 460 250 GB HDD All wrapped up in a tower case that looks like it came from the late 90s. And no one's the wiser. My mouse and keyboard are pretty stock (well, the keyboard is ergonomically sleek and black-plated, but that's about it), so I'm not really sure what to say of that. They work well enough for me, though. Don't remember what my mobo was, so...

I think it should work now. It's only on his YouTube account, so, yeah. It's played backwards, just like the Dead Island trailer! Also, note the roars.

Aw, what? So I'm stuck to Medium unless I shift over to DX11?

Thief is like... cyber-steampunk fantasy. It's so weird and awesome at the same time, and that's why I love it. Glad to see they're bringing it back, just hope they don't screw it up. Those Pagansies, weirdsies they be. And the Hammerites, their Builder be praised. The Keepers and their secrets. And then there's Garrett and his robot eye. Heehee.
-
I'm actually hoping they bring a demo out for this, too. Or if not, at least a good chunk of gameplay so I can see what's up. So far it's all been worded previews, but I want to see what they're doing with it.

Another one: People who go to a specific higher education school, but wear sweaters from other higher education schools. Thanks for letting everyone know which prestigious university you didn't make it into. Yes, I am aware this isn't an internet pet peeve, so I'll give you one: People who use filler letters a lot in their names. Very prominent in MMOs, especially anime ones. I've seen a million XxIchigoxX or XxSasukexX to last me ten lifetimes.

The new music score they have lined up for Guild Wars 2 is plain epic. Just go watch the new Norn video and you'll see what I mean.

Ukraine to open Chernobyl area to tourists in 2011
Pirandello replied to staySICK's topic in Off-Topic
Sweet. Now I can go there. I've actually read some accounts of people who have actually visited the site, and were pretty close to the Sarcophagus. Simply put: if you value your balls, don't sit on anything, and don't put anything on the ground. In addition, there was a video somebody put up on YouTube detailing a Russian journalist who was actually at Chernobyl days after the incident. He went into the sarcophagus with a crew of Russian liquidators. He died shortly after leaving the Zone. Current-day calculations that at the time of recording, there was enough radiation in the sarcophagus to kill a man in just as little as a mere hour of exposure. And to think the only thing they had for "protection" was a surgical facemask. -
It makes my eyes hurt and water just looking at it.
