  1. My DA2 review is up. :D

  2. I hate when NPCs talk to you in FPSs, they stare off in a blank direction while the player moves around. Why can't they track the player's position? I mean, if a game like Area 51 (the remake) could do it, why can't our newer games do it, too?

      Enervation

I'll just talk into this wall! I know you can hear me anyways!

  3. Heh, for me, I struggle with the basics of art. I can draw squares real nice, though. And cubes. Cubes, too. I'm a god at drawing cubes. Too bad those are just about the only things I draw well.
  4. Yeah, I mean, after all, if they didn't mean for it to start over again, why put it in a circle? Why not, say, a square, like how our current calendars work? Shape logic, y'know.

Not to be confused with the Russian Apocalypse tank from RA. :P

The Mammoth Tank is the GDI's powerhouse tank.

They were called mammoth tanks... apocalypse tanks came in RA2... unless they changed the name on me.

I never played the original RA, so I wouldn't know.

This particular Mammoth Tank is the GDI variant used in CnC3/4.

  5. Can scratch Dragon Age 2 off my list. Could be better... could be worse. It's not bad for what it is, though. I enjoyed it.
  6. New trailer "Matter of Class" is up. Nicely details one of them missions and how the classes will work. Getting even more stoked about this. I hope sometime in the future, Splash Damage will cater to the PC players a bit and introduce some 16v16 scenarios as well (or at least something more than 8v8).
  7. I can imagine Tevinter being quite... interesting. From what I know of it, it's quite the cutthroat nation run by self-centered mages. I would like Rivain or Antiva, though. Orlais is the biggest nation in the game, so I think something can be salvaged from it. On another note, the ending sucked. They tell you everything you don't want to know or already know. What I wanted, and what they missed, to know, was to what happened to my character. Otherwise, it's a decent game, and I liked it. Playing through again as an asshole/sarcastic mage, and I must say it's a lot easier when you're a mage. EDIT: The companions are just starting to get on my nerves. It's pretty much the fact that the choices for them are "bipolar". Trying to play nice with these people is freaking ANNOYING. I want my Alistair back.
  8. Just beat the game. The ending was fairly lukewarm, as was the boss battle. Sad that I didn't get anywhere in terms of romance since you need quite a large friend rating (why could they not have just stuck with the more easier-to-understand approval system in the first game?). Was quite charming to see Leiliana again, though. Also, I suppose the next game will be in Orlais. Why? 1. Bodahn and Sandal are always in the game. They said that they wanted to head to Orlais since the Empress there was impressed with Sandal's enchantment talents. 2. Civil unrest in Orlais and a mounting tension between factions. Sequel plot sustenance, yum.
  9. Finally managed to get in a good amount of playing during the weekends after purchasing it! I can see how some people have problems with the game, but I still enjoy it. Companions seem to suck this time around, though, with exception of Varric, who seems to have taken over my wingman spot a-la Alistair from DA:O. Varric: The only guy I like. He's great through and through and he's practically my Hawke's blood brother. Merrill: She likes her blood magic and demons a little bit too much. Shame, since I was trying to romance her, but I keep ending up getting rivalry with her instead with my treatment towards demons (which is: KILL ALL DEMONS). Bethany: Fuck me for taking her to the Deep Roads. Fuck me twice for not bringing Anders with me. Carver: Never really liked him. Isabela: She's weird. It's hard to tell what choices get her friendship or rivalry. Aveline: She's okay. But ugly (to me). Anders: He totally gives me the pro-mage extremist vibe here. No touchy with ten-foot pole. Fenris: Dude has problems with the word "Tevinter". He's certainly better than the others, though, so I keep him around. And on top of that, some of the choices that I made during the companion quests were completely unexpected from what I thought they'd be. Especially in Merrill's case. And the Black Emporium is a nice place. I see stuff that catches my eye and figure out that it's too expensive for me.
  10. I heard that PC version will be limited to 8v8 as seen on the consoles as well. Not really sure how to take that, but they've designed the maps to fit well with the 8v8 combat, they say.
  11. What I hate: People who try to justify his hatred to a genre by using someone else list as a shield he can get behind, things in that list is mostly generalization from few games. Both JRPG and WRPG both share the same possibilites for some developers to produce either great or crap games. Glad you could find something to talk about in this thread. My initial experience was that JRPGs tended to have more of the things that I disliked (bad characters, bad story, bad combat, etc, mostly bad characters) much more so than WRPGs ever did. That's why I don't like it when people try to laud JRPGs to me as the best thing since sliced bread. That, and I don't like turn-based combat, which I find very banal. Most likely due to my upbringing in real-time twitch-based games like Counterstrike.
  12. I just played with and against a Demoman that had the Chargin' Targe coupled with the Half-Zatoichi. Nasty, nasty stuff.
  13. Mickey's totally, like, Evil Overlord Mickey in that picture. His hands are even glowing red with pure evil magic.
  14. Except in this case, we can actually ignore them and watch as they slowly rot like the carrion they are.
  15. I believe the correct word is 'chauvinistic'.
  16. Calls down artillery strike on garrisoned house. Hits next door house instead. Problem, commander? trollface.jpg

  17. I am partially guilty for number 1, actually. Though nowadays, I do keep my boxes and manuals arranged in my own storage area. As for me: 1. People who make assumptions about a game before its even released. I judge by my own criteria when I fucking play the damn game (especially if I think it's good), so why doesn't anyone else? 2. Multiplayer manners. This requires no explanation. 3. People who dismiss a game simply based upon a lukewarm first impression. I.E. "Minecraft is a silly kid's game." 4. (This one is a bit more personal): Those that preach JRPGs as the greatest thing to happen since sliced bread. I don't like them, I tend to find almost every aspect of JRPGs as to be quite shallow (story, characters, combat, etc, especially so in a modern-day-based world where I must question as to why the main characters aren't suiting up like the fucking Batman with a gadget for every damn contingency). For further explanation, please read this.
  18. Rule of thumb for physics professors is that they have to be mentally unstable in one form or another.
  19. I always use the stock character face that Bioware uses. Call me lazy.
  20. Feel like I'm walking into a minefield, but here I go. I never really grew up religious (my parents weren't religious), save for the time I willingly tagged along with my cousins to Vacation Bible School (to be honest, I only really did it for the sliced apples with caramel dip during snacktime), yet it never really caught on to me. I went three times actually, but it never really caught on to me. The teachings and prayers and all the words from the Bible just sort of went in one ear and came out the other; I guess I never found the appeal to what I assumed to be "talking to yourself" (mind you, that was what prayer seemed like to me during my childhood, I have a better grasp on what it's for now). I don't really hate it all per say, but I find it the subject of much amusement in terms of comedy (I sometimes like to occasionally laud the Flying Spaghetti Monster, praise be his noodly appendages), and ponder why both sides (both non-theists and religious folk) have so much hate for each other (could be better spent doing productive things, y'know, like gaming, working, or learning). People are free to believe what they believe; just don't rub it in my face or drag me into it. And also, I have not ever mentioned religion amongst my immediate family. I'm not really sure what I would say to them if the question ever came up. I'm sure they know, though, since my parents are non-religious, and they must have gotten the hint. They're not strict about it, though, and much of our family is comprised of successful people who are pretty well off (though I was concerned when I found a text that was called "A Godless America is a Dead America" at my cousin's house last Christmas). TL;DR: I don't care. Now leave me alone so I can live my life and you can live yours. I think I sort of went off into a digression rampage there.
  21. Anyone care to recommend me some good singleplayer PC games? College net connection is horribly laggy during the nighttime.

Are you an adventure game fan? You could always try Yahtzee's horror game made before he did Zero Punctuation.I am particularly fond of "6 Days a Sacrifice", but technically that's the last in the series. It goes 5DAS, 7DAS, 6DAS.

  22. Hook and baiting weebs is as easy as manually breathing. "Your anime sucks. Your character sucks. YOU SUCK." Repeat until they rage themselves into a comatose state. OR. My favorite: Dive the discussion into Godwin's territory in any way you can.
  23. Oh, wow, thank you so much. I was worried that I'll have to drag myself through the whole thing all over again, memory leaks and all.
  24. I figured "Why stop there?" and went full douchebag. The repercussions were more futile than I thought they were. So my evilness continued. Just about the only game where I actually ended up as Evil instead of Good; because everyone sucks and I don't give a crap about them.
