  1. I see quite a few complaints of how terrible and disrespectful cinemagoers can be of others in America. If it maybe confirmation bias or is it actually quite a frequent occurrence to have babies and toddles brought along to non-U/PG films, and people messing with phones and such? There was that video doing the rounds last year of the recording of the woman on the voicemail after being kicked out for phone use. Was funny but seemed a tad extreme to start a film with. But if it truly is quite a frequent occurrence I guess it's a balanced response.
  2. A fair chunk of us are newbs (though I'm getting decidedly less so, but still plenty of rookie mistakes to make). Likely if we get a fair chunk of people we'll probs play in teams and thus able to team up newbs and veterans.
  3. To expand the Walkie Talkie stuff, moments where you pick up an audio-log of sorts, play it, and then whatever NPC you're tagging along with also starts talking. Even worse when the game can't decide if the NPC should override the audio log volume (which at least you can replay after NPC has shut up) or have the audio-log play over the NPC thus likely missing some crucial story info. The Walking Talkie issue should be able to be easily solved by going as fast as possible between the two points in-game, timing it, and then going "okay then, that's how long we can make the conversation so the player can go at full pelt, and also so the conversation isn't prematurely cut off".
  4. Damned Bank Holiday weekends, everyone is off and wanting to do stuff.

Well more a case of busy times. Also somewhat pricey ones too. Not had much of a chance till today for some time to myself.

  5. I second this idea. I guess any who'd want to join can make them selves be known.
  6. It's a series that features gods and aliens and frozen WWII soldiers, suspension of belief is kind of a compulsory requirement.
  7. See, to me it's no different than any of the other films so if you like those I'm not sure why you'd specifically be wanting to pick this one apart. Maybe a tad harsh for saying you're wanting to go in hating it. Maybe some other external force. It just seems weird to enjoy all the others then take issue with and pick apart IM3. Especially when you've missed one element:
  8. And got this as part of Free Comic Book Day Because it was all that was left after mate picked up the last 2000AD comic.
  9. I've a feeling you went in on this one wanting to hate the movie, which is a shame (especially when movie tickets are pretty expensive things to be forcing yourself to see something you're going to hate).

    Wii U

Marketing during summer might be a good idea unless come run up to Xmas they want to jump in fresh while Sony and MS are well into the swing of their campaigns for two new consoles. Also assuming Nintendo is still attempting to go after "core" gamers then it might not be the best idea to drop off the face of the earth during the summer months and two new "core" console pushes.
  11. http://www.gog.com/promo/ea_weekend_promo_030513 Massive EA sale at GOG. At the very least I'd recommend Dungeon Keeper.SMAC is a game I was fond of as a child, though I'll be honest it's a tad hard to get into this day n age. Theme Hospital was posted of in another thread other day, seems there's a mod to make it open ended. The version of SimCity GOG sells is offline only, and Wing Commander and Ultima titles had their Origin requirement removed by EA many years ago.
  12. Lara has teeth and tongue. LA Noire folks have something that resembles what looks like mouthparts but projected on mush. It looks even worse when he shouts. But as I said, we've already covered this.
  13. And also for their mouths to exist, that'd have been real handy in a game with so much talking. Instead of the current "face projected on someone wearing a spandex hood" effect. But we've been over this all before.
  14. "there’s even a hint of LA Noire – though not its tech – in the game’s improved facial animation." 'cept Rockstar didn't make LA Noire, only begrudgingly published it. And the tech was horrid. Sweet to be able to hire a crew. Interesting to see how the game has responded to Saint's Row. Also the adaptive leveling seems sweet (As long as it doesn't fuck you over in later missions where you need like an accomplished diver or something)
  15. You read the article at all W&S?
  16. http://7nights.tumblr.com/post/49375174755/feminism-in-video-games This popped up in my Twitter feed. Maybe of interest. It's pretty good even if you pass over the Dragon Crown stuff.
  17. There's many times where I'm bored of all the homemade Doctor Who cakes, outfits, etc in the Doctor Who subreddit, but then interesting snippets like this crop up now and then.
  18. I understand how it is regarded. I will just never be able to wrap my head around the 2nd amendment part specifically, and its current existence within modern society.
  19. http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-kentucky-boy-accidental-fatal-shooting-sister-20130501,0,2768797.story Whhhyyy?? This wasn't even a "kid gets hold of parents gun" story, the kid shot and killed his own sister with his own gun that he got as a present. Why the fuck does a 5 year old have a proper fucking gun? The 2nd Amendment will consistently be something I'll likely never be able to wrap my head around still existing in this day and age and at the expense of so many children's lives.
  20. To be fair to it most people aren't looking to double their calorie intake.
  21. http://www.eatthismuch.com/ So this is meant to be pretty neat, and it seems it. Just it's aimed at Americans so not really too useful for me.
  22. I've only seen little bits of it though because I'm not allowed to watch it while housemate is in room as she's not done with Series 4.
  23. I started Up XCOM last night for first time in a while. I still suck at it (not died in this run yet though, but was only playing like 2hrs)
  24. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22364373 A piece from BBC chatting with JJ Abrams about the two. John Williams will leave a void in films when he hangs up his hat. His soundtracks just somehow fit the films so well.
