  1. can you use the gamepad while it's charging?
  2. I've read about several developers saying the Wii U eShop is pretty much as good as they could hope for with a console download service. Hopefully it's not all hot air and they continue putting their games on there after the initial excitement has died down. Hopefully with the changes they've made (comparisons to steam can only be a good thing, surely) and the free updates and DLC (I've read several times that's caused a load of problems on PS3 and 360), then there is no reason not to put their games on the eShop if Nintendo have got rid of that stupid rule they had (something to do with 50,000 downloads or £50,000 before the developers saw any money?)
  3. How does that offer work? Once you download the game can you keep it as long as your subscription is active or is it killed from your console when the new batch of games is released?
  4. I know, and 'ead if just the yorkshire pronunciation of head, it's not a different word nor a different meaning so it is just the local accent nothing to do with yorkshire dialect.
  5. I'm sure some of those are Scottish, e.g. bairn and aye. Others are definitely used elsewhere in the country (e.g. I'd bet more people would associate gaffer for boss with the East End rather than Yorkshire) but I suppose that doesn't mean they didn't originate in Yorkshire though I'd argue if they haven't remained peculiar to Yorkshire it's no longer Yorkshire dialect as using it doesn't mark someone out as being from Yorkshire. Some are just dumb like 'ead for head. Surely that is just accent not dialect?
  6. Rememberance Day is to remember those that fell in war, not veterans. We don't have anything for veterans here.
  7. What's the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day?
  8. In the 2*2 square how do I work out which two have the bombs in, please? http://i.imgur.com/tTaWZ.jpg

After looking at everything in the area, the only thing I can say for certain is that of the four the top right has the most pointing to it.

      Also: NIGGA U FUCKED!

Disclaimer: I suck @ Minesweeper and never got the hang of it. I'm thinking... DR is clear? DR's 3 could be the 2 flagged plus UL from it? Sound feasible?

I don't see any memes here. I just see a picture that has been re-uploaded and downloaded so many times it has a very obvious quality loss which should tell you a lot about how old this is.

yeah, that is how it is meant in the abbreviation, but the way I usually hear it used is as an overtly political statement or for its shock value. I also don't think that that definition is all that old, and has been applied to it recently to try and replace the more common meaning as just a pejorative term for a gay person, which is the reason I don't think I've ever heard a "normal" gay person use the word to refer to themselves. Also, while you ponder androgyny I may as well point out I don't think Transgender really fits in their either. Sexualilty and gender identity are to completely separate areas, e.g. a male transsexual may be either straight or gay. It kind of just smacks of 'lets lump all the freaks together' to me.
  10. i can't pretend I know much about it, but wasn't that a non binding referendum, and the new leader of puerto rico doesn't want to become a state, so isn't there quite a big chance that it won't go ahead? Edit, or at least be deliberately held up and made a mess of.

Q also stands for 'questioning' which I prefer. Mostly as I don't like the term queer. It sounds too political to me and angry. Not to mention I still can't help feeling it as an insult , even though I know people are trying to reclaim it I'm just not there yet.
  12. I didn;t the first time I tried installing it, I did the second time. It ended with the same result. I just need now to work out how to get it to load from my main HDD the OS is installed on and to stop it thinking i have three installs of windows 8.
  13. well, I'm on my Mum's laptop because I tried to install Windows 8 on mine and it's completely borked.I bought the upgrade download from MS and I tried installing from a USB stick, did a custom install cos I wanted a fresh start. It seemed to install fine and said it needed to restart, and I was really pleased how easy and fast it was, but then the Windows 7 bird startup screen showed and I thought, 'uh oh'. It said windows needed to repair itself, couldn't find a problem and should restart, and it just keeps doing that in a loop. The windows 8 repair on the insallation USB stick doesn't find anything either. All I can think to do now is reinstall windows 7 but I'm loathe to do that. edit: If I choose to boot from my second hdd, it seems to be loading fine. The thing is, I don't and never have had an OS installed on my second HDD, so I have no idea why it would boot from that disk.
  14. how soon after the voting tomorrow do you know who's won?

  16. The only game on my wish list is Meteos. Anything else I buy if I want it.
  17. I guess it's only supposed to be an average game, but I've had a desire to buy it. It's not stocked in many places, and often out of stock where it is and not dropped in price at all so when I saw it new, in stock at a store I had a £6.66 discount code that had a half hour left to use I couldn't resist. Hopefully it's not too disappointing.
  18. edit in response to FMW: it is a good offer, though is slightly less good than it sounds, as they points will only be issued for each $50 you spend. So, for example if you spend $99.99 you will get only a $5 voucher. So while it's still good they're giving free money out you'll have to be careful to maximise your return. original post: Someone that mentioned Nintendo's profits aren't returning to what some people had hoped in another thread which reminded me that Nintendo have stated they will be selling the Wii U at a loss. What do you guys think of this new tack Nintendo is taking with its hardware? When they sold each unit at a profit it almost didn't matter how successful they were but now they need a big install base to drive down costs and get enough software sales to make up for hardware losses. It must be a more risk strategy, but does it at least change your opinion of the value you're getting from the Wii U?
  19. Here it is if you missed it. Get it before it's gone again. Also, while I believe the pastor is genuine, from the mimimal reading I've done about it, the mo is obviously acting whether he realises it himself or not.
