  1. it's weird there are so many early man games at on the horizon. There's this, WiLD, ARK: survival evolved, Primal Carnage has dinosaurs but modern weapons. Probably more that im not aware of too. Anyway, this does look interesting. It would be nice if it wasn't just focused on killing animal/other tribes.
  2. There are three basic shower types here. an electric shower is a small unit (about a foot tall and a few inches deep) that sits on the wall in your shower. cold water pipe goes in, hose and showerhead comes out. A heating element inside heats the water, usually have a temperature dial and a power dial which would have off, cold and two levels of hot power. a mixer shower has hot and cold water pipes from your heating system a mixer tap for temp adjustment, and the shower head. they're the most basic. a power shower is basically a mixer shower with a pump to increase flow rate. Because the last two systems use your hot water they're not good if you have a small hot water tank as after one person has a shower there's no hot water left. A lot of older houses have these hot water systems, as decent combi boilers (that heat water on demand rather than heating it and keeping it in a tank are relatively new here) hence the popularity of the electric shower.
  3. How do American home bathroom lights work? We have pull cords because it's dangerous to use wet hands on a switch. Do you have a normal switch but outside the room? Staying in the bathroom it seems we are the only country that still has separate hot and cold taps, and it is incredibly annoying. I don't understand why he thinks our coins don't make sense? Is it because they don't increase in size along with value? Do yours? I don't think many people here call chips french fries outside of McDonalds. That's because french fries are specifically the thin cut type which is not what you're served in most places. What's complicated about shower, or simple about yours. Maybe you're more likely to see an electric shower here as opposed to a power shower? What's this about? "It’s not unusual to see people dressed different and speaking different languages". Do you assume everyone here is white? I didn't know french beer had a bad reputation. I've never heard anyone say cheers as a greeting, only as a toast and an informal synonym for "thanks" He has a much higher opinion of our train service than any british person does. I would guess not many people use ice at home except if they're throwing a party, but whenever I go out most drinks except beer, wine and have ice, please tell me you don't put ice in beer and wine, that's weird.
  4. has that loaded? The address was weird This next one isn't a joke, but it is terrible. this is just one more item in a long list of things not to like about morrisey
  5. I finally bought Majora's Mask for 3DS. After missing the £19.99 offer I saw and royally pissing myself off as it was my fault I missed it I finally found an offer that was complicated but good. Was almost tempted to buy a New 3DS XL to go with it but I have a feeling 3DS is not long for this world and do not want to hear about it's successor hot on the heals of me buying it.
  6. two more names for the cast confirmed: Jeremy Irons, for all your intra-familial marriage needs and Brendon Gleeson. I think Gleeson is more of a pointer toward the positive, but Irons is sort of still a big name.
  7. I guess most scales can't weigh out something as small as half a teaspoon of spice more accurately than an actual spoon.
  8. Urgh. I forgot about that. The worst is 'one pack of oreos'. I mean even in the UK they sell those in multiple pack sizes and you know they're going to be different (smaller) to the US sizes. Nearly as bad as measuring biscuits in cups. How the heck do you measure biscuits in cups, if you flat out refuse to use weights just put 10 biscuits or whatever it is. Edit: just wondering, do packs in the us have cup sizes on them? Ours are all in grams so if recipe says 2 cups of chocolate or 2 cups of blueberries how do you know how much to buy?
  9. Is the other cat stuffed or something it doesn't seem to be reacting to the tv nor the other cat at all
  10. so many american recipes look lush but then call for a box cake mix/brownie mix. If I;m making something nice I want to make it properly from scratch not with some weird box of junk. it's really annoying as it's another step to work out how to make from scratch and means you can't just save the recipe as is.
  11. The dude you're taking about is also in a decent programme about people that returned from the dead (I hesitate to say zombies as their still conscious-partially dead syndrome they call it in the programme) It's called 'in the flesh' and is worth a watch. Oh and as to humans, that was good- hope it's not a spoiler but you are very right about the asimov laws. Rebecca foot turns up in it too which I thought was weird as the role seems more minor than she should be doing
  12. Can you embed vimeo? this is lovely, anyway.
  13. It's an RPGs but the 'player' is controlled by the cpu. You're a god that inspires the adventurer but the only thing you have to do is revive him if he dies, you can try to talk to him but he won't necessarily do what you want and you don't even know what you can ask him to do as it's hand typed by you not a list of commands . That means it's hard to know what you're achieving
  14. Anyone played Godville? Someone at work recommended it and I just don't get it. Want to know if I'm missing something.
  15. How is a NAS HDD different to a normal HDD?
  16. The worst thing about pirates of the Caribbean is Jonny depp and I don't see them fixing that.
  17. A seemingly normal person will drop 50 IQ points and/or have a 180 personality change to become a belligerent unreasonable monster the second they step over the threshold of a shop. I'm not even joking. If you have any hope for the future of humanity you have never worked in a shop. If you have, you know we are all fucked and you know we deserve it.
  18. What's this about the EU knowing about the emissions cheating systems for 5 years? I only saw it on a comedy show so they didn't go into any details.
  19. Is that the colours you chose or a stock photo?
  20. I really don't know why I was even half hoping Nintendo would have their new account system set today after the old one closed yesterday. Wonder when it will actually arrive. Mostly out of curiosity as to what it will offer.
  21. Fucking consumers, man. They are the absolute biggest bucket of arseholes on the planet. I would happily punch each and everyone of then in the face until my knuckles bleed.
  22. oh, and thinking about pubs, I don't believe many pubs are run as franchises. Traditionally they are owned by the brewery that supplies their own beers at discounted prices to the landlord who buys in other drinks (wine, spirits), and other beers at normal prices but may be prevented by the brewer from buying in rival beers. The other traditional type is a freehouse which wasn't owned by a brewery, but by the landlord them self, they had the choice of what they bought but without the brewery provided discounts often struggled and some breweries would refuse to deal with them as they were rivals to their own pubs. Wetherspoons is a bit different to both as it is a chain, but not a franchise, they are all owned by one company, but that is not a brewery.
  23. supermarkets are still ostensibly large format food stores, they just diversified into areas with higher profit margins (mainly clothes, then homewares and entertainment). Food is definitely the main focus though and they all started as food only. If this is a typical walmart: I'd say most UK supermarkets are the opposite of that - the blue would be food/drink and the green everything else. I'd Marks and Spencer would be the only equivalent to the above format but no one would call M&S a supermarket, even the food-only ones.
