I bought Alundra. I was looking for games to satisfy my Zelda fix years ago, and this one looked good, except it wasn't in the PSN store they finally added it but only in the US and JPN. I looked periodically and then gave up but looking through the store on my new Vita I saw it and could hardly believe it - they'd added it in to the EU store october last year two years after the US. I'd given up hope so was quite chuffed. I just hope I actually like it now!

the article does say that was pretty much all that was produced until fairly recently (going from 50 to 2000 breweries), and certainly that was all that would have coming out of the country to international markets so it is only fair that is what people would be thinking and it takes a long time for people's ideas of something to change. Also, don't forget that, outside the US in most places outside of trendy urban areas, i.e. most areas, it's still just the junk beers from USA that are available, and probably will continue to be the only representation that the US has in bars and shops. So it is unlikely that the vast majority of people's opinions of USA beer will change

To fish, you have to throw the float in upstream of the fish and let it float toward the fish, you scare it off if you throw it directly at the fish, then you have to let the fish bite once and do nothing, then on the second time it bites real the sucker in. Part of the appeal of the game is it's linked to the real world, with the seasons changing in real time so you have to play for at least a year to get all the insects/fish etc., in game celebrations happen on real holidays and use it at certain times of day to get certain things e.g. the turnip lady I think only comes on Sunday mornings. You buy white turnips off her and sell them to nook, they only keep for a week so you have to sell them to him before she returns. It's like a stock market. (hence her name, Sow Joan) she sells at different prices each week and he buys at two different prices every day. You can't plant white turnips. You can buy red turnip seeds which you can plant, they need to be watered every day else they die, and after a week you can dig them up and sell them to nook for a tidy, fixed profit. To enjoy Animal Crossing to its fullest, I think you have to get out of the mindset that it's a game you've got to beat and be done with and think of it as an experience more like life, you can't do everything in real life either. It's not for everyone but it's certainly an integral part of its charm for a lot of people. There's not many games you can play every day for a year and still find something new just because you maybe needed to get up early one day for some reason. I never changed the time in the game - if I missed something, I missed something: it will be there next week, next year. Maybe I'll see it, maybe I won't. If that bothers you I don't think the game is for you. Having said that, the new game will have a setting for early birds/night owls, so I guess it will change the time of day most of the action happens to fit in better with how you play the game. I do think this is a great idea as \i know i missed out on stuff by mostly playing in the evenings - though I saw a lot of nice things like shooting stars which other people will have missed. edit: I just remembered there's a cheat in the game where if you place your white turnips on a table they don't spoil so you can keep them until the price is right to sell or if you don't play for a while you haven't wasted your money. To help make money, keep an eye out for coconuts on the shore. Plant it on the shoreline and you can harvest the coconuts from the trees at 500 bells each. Obviously, it's best to plant at least one from each harvest so you get more trees but they only grow on the shoreline. Also, write a lot of letters to your villagers, and attach a cheap present (usually I'd just attach a second sheet of paper) they write back with a present, and if they give you a non-native fruit, plant it as non-native fruit is worth 500 bells when native is only - if I remember correctly - 200. But really there is no rush to make money - there is no finish to the game so you won't get through it faster by paying off Nook quickly. edit 2: Nintendo have just released an Iwata Asks for New Leaf. Worth a read.

It will probably be too slow to use around here, and I wouldn't be missing out on the LTE model if it arrives. I still can't even get 3G where I live :/
-
Not sure how much I'm actually going to use it but I was sick of thinking about whether to get it or not. It was a bundle so that's why I only have a small card, the 3G version was cheaper than the wifi and I think it was only the extra money that put people off not that it was actually worse? Hopefully, anyway! They are all new/sealed, for £165 so I think it was a bit of a deal, apparently that's a fair price to quiet my mind anyway.

i just think unless it has been explicitly stated (even in the rumours) then it is massively jumping to conclusions. stand by and push updates are things you can do with an always on connection, as examples other than for DRM. By not compulsory I meant it could be turned of if you don't want to use the features that require it (eg the auto updates, and social aspects), it would only be compulsory if it were required to play games. I still don't think MS would bring out a system on which you cannot play games unless you are connected to their servers, and I won't believe it even if an "always on" connection is confirmed. Not until they explicitly say that is what the connection is required for.
-
Did any of the actual rumours (rather than commentors making assumptions) say that always on was related to DRM? The Wii had a literal always on connection (i.e. even when in standby) or equally it could just mean it has stuff pushed to the system (updates, social etc.) rather than you requesting them. Always on doesn't have to be a bad thing, nor compulsory.

Are there any rumours of a vita redesign to go with the PS4 or is now a reasonable time to buy one?

There isn't a more disturbing feeling than a cat licking you... One of my old ones used to do it a lot and I could only stand it for so long to let him be friendly before I had to stop him and risk his ire.

I'm hoping it won't feel too bad when you're actually on the console rather than staring at a video of it. Also, I think they said there would be further speed improvements in the Summer update.

I used to think the return to the xmedia bar was slow but it is REALLY painful at the moment on the Wii U to the point where it puts you off moving around the system.

if it's like the giggling easter egg when you started the gamecube i could find a place in my heart for it.

Here's the menu load times comparisons for the April update. Looks good. Hopefully they add everybody votes in for one of the updates.

I'm something of a Nintendo apologist and I can't say that's not true. For me personally though, patience has always been rewarded.

It's this: still no idea what it actually is though. edit: my post is redundant now
