  1. Same goes for Arkham. But very few games will keep me playing once the story wraps up. Arkham City had really fun side stuff (arguably more fun than the actual story, imho), so I actually wanted to keep on playing even without a story. Tomb Raider, not so much. The only reason I'm going to keep playing TR for a little bit more is because I'm missing a single fucking thing to get 100%.
  2. @Strangelove: Actually, you make a good point. When I said that, I was mentally comparing it to Uncharted 3. I don't think TR is better than U2 but it definitely is better than U3. Other than that, I agree. It's not as Metroidvania as Arkham City and some large chunks of the island are fairly linear so it's not as open. @Cowboy: True. I had the same feeling in Arkham City. Doing the side stuff was tons of fun but the pressure to continue with the story kinda worked against that.
  3. Beat Tomb Raider last night. Man, that was a very, very good game. Arkham City-style semi-open world with better set pieces than Uncharted. What's not to love? After playing Infinite on hard and finding the challenge to be just about right, I decided to give this one a shot on hard as well. I really enjoyed how lethal it made the combat. I would go down pretty quickly if I wasn't careful and that really added to the survival feel of the experience. I think going forward I might do this more often instead of keeping harder difficulties for subsequent playthroughs. Other than that, I'd heard the campaign was about 16 hours long but around the 8 hours mark it became kind of obvious that that wasn't accurate. I didn't want it to end, though, so I put the story on hold and started backtracking and doing collectibles and challenges. Ended up beating it with 97% completion. I'm at 99% now and missing only a single mine that I spent an hour trying to find with no luck. Anyway, I really hope the suits at Square Enix pull their heads out of their asses and realize that those sales expectations of theirs were batshit fucking crazy because if this doesn't get a sequel I'm going to be angry.
  4. Came here to post that. District 9 was fucking amazing so I have very high hopes for this. What's your problem with Matt Damon, though?
  5. Humble weekly Blendo deal. Because I like Blendo's games. Plus I've wanted to try Flotilla for a while. Didn't go for BTA since I already own Thirty Flights. edit: also this Cause I remembered that it was out and how fucking amazing it looks.
  6. Well, when you put it that way, I guess... It was kind of stupid how at the end of NV the game just left me to choose for myself who I wanted to side with. So many shades of gray, it was nauseating! Hopefully that low metacritic score that cost Obsidian their bonuses thought them a lesson and next time we'll have proper black and white factions with clear indications of what the correct choices are.
  7. It hurts my brain whenever someone argues that Fallout 3 is better than NV. They're both good games but NV just has so much more going for it.
  8. Just finished watching Django Unchained. Much like every other Tarantino movie, it was pretty fucking good. Oh, and I finally got around to watching The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 last night. I wasn't a huge fan of the comic when I read it but, I have to admit, it made for a pretty good animated movie.
  9. I've been listening to the new album pretty much non-stop since this morning. It's not technically coming out until next week, though, so that's the only track that's on youtube right now. The video's kinda weird...
  10. Nice, they even count games you already own. I have three of the lot so if I were to buy anything my discount would start at 51%.
  11. Well, I assume they're putting the finishing touches on The Stick of Truth. Also, I'm pretty sure not too long ago they said they had one or two unannounced projects in the works. Project Eternity only has like 12 people working on it. It's not really their main focus.
  12. Sucks for those that lost their jobs, but personally I can't say I'm sorry to see the studio go... Their recent games have all been painfully unexceptional and 1313 was looking like it would continue that trend. Maybe now that they're licensing we can start getting good Star Wars games again. Hopefully Obsidian give that pitch of theirs another shot.
  13. Grabbed the Humble Weekly Tripwire deal. I've been curious about Red Orchestra 2 for a long time and it got me I think all the Killing Floor DLC. BTA price was less than 3$ when I bought it this morning.
  14. Oh man, I haven't watched American Dad in like 3 years. I really need to catch up. It's the only Seth MacFarlane show I can still stand. Probably because it actually has jokes in it instead of just references.
  15. "This player... for the rest of his life, he doesn't have legs." Game of the fucking year right there.
  16. I'm not entirely against the idea of daytime missions. But I thought the ones in Double Agent just weren't very good. The oil rig level in the original Splinter Cell takes place during the day, but it's a great mission.
  17. This is the best thing. Pretty much the only april fools thing that actually made me laugh.
  18. I'm about 3 hours in. Really loving it as well. It's actually better than Uncharted 3, imho.
  19. Yeah, I feel like they really managed to one-up the original with Infinite, and that was no small feat considering the impact it had back then. Pulling it off a second time might be difficult. Not sure 2K will want to leave the series dormant, though. I really hope they don't have another team put together a BioShock Infinite 2 or something equally stupid. BioShock 2 was so unnecessary. :/
  20. Eh, maybe with new consoles having just come out it was hard to go back to the previous gen? Personally, I thought the PS3 version was okay but that the double agent headquarter stuff was repetitive and annoying. And then there's all those daytime missions... Honestly, I like Conviction more than that version of Double Agent while the PS2 version I feel is the second best after Chaos Theory. The prison level in the PS3 version was amazing, though. The one on PS2 was nowhere near as good.
  21. It's been a while so I could be remembering wrong, but I think they actually failed to even mention that fact right up until the games came out and people realized they were completely different.
  22. Are you high? The PS2/Xbox version was done by Ubisoft Montreal (creators of the series) and was more in-line with the previous games. It was the superior version of DA. The PS3/360 version (which was handled by Ubisoft Shangai, aka the "bad" SC studio) wasn't terrible, but it was seriously flawed and the new stuff they tried simply didn't work.

  24. Hmm, might have to get the season pass, then.
