  1. Fear Effect & Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix The first game is amazing. To this day it's still the creepiest game Ive ever played. It has no jump scares whatsoever, but the atmosphere is incredible. It makes me really uneasy playing it. Its also one of the few games that is about chinese mythology. It was also the first game I played where bad shit happened to all the playable characters. I wasnt used to shit happening to the characters I played as, not in a permanent way anyways. The voice overs are also really great for it's time, right next to MGS1. The games comes on 4 discs each because the backgrounds are fully animated fmvs, so the game still looks pretty good. It basically plays like RE, but with a bit better movement. It has tank controls, but you can roll and duck to avoid getting hurt. The health meter is also different. There aren't any health packs, the only way to get health is by killing people or finding a save point. The game also has puzzle that are actually more similar to Silent Hill than RE. Some take a bit of effort. Sadly, theyre not on PSN in the US, but I just found out they are on PSN in the EU PSN store. Im so fucking jealous. I cant even play them on a PSP with CFW because the disc switching is iffy. The only option we have in the US is to own the original PS1 discs, which I do. Id love to play them on my Vita though. They came out over a year ago in EU, so Im not holding my breath for them to come over here.
  2. WWE Network is free for a week, in case anyone here is low brow enough.

That's me. I wonder if they have re-runs of GLOW on there? I'll find out soon enough.

  3. This is a weird thing to ask or bring up, but I still think its weird how many people reject gaming. Mostly I find it very jarring when famous people get interviewed that are my age and they dont really know much about videogames, if anything at all. They all seem to remember their early years, but they view it as something to grow out of. I was for sure that it was my generation that gaming was finally going to be mainstream. Not saying that it isnt, but i think a lot of people still see it as a novelty, as a hobby, not as a regular thing. Like movies, books and music. That being said, Im assuming some of you see videogames as the next big thing, or equal to music, film, and literature. Maybe its not as good in comparison right now, but I dont doubt that itll get there in it's own way. I truly think some day itll be awkward to ask people if they play videogames like it is now to ask people if they watch movies. We all watch movies, and we'll all play videogames.
  4. People have NEVER thought about PBS as a legitimate channel, have they? When I was a kid if I had to decide between watching PBS or nothing, Id watch nothing.
  5. I hate orientals. That's about it in a nutshell.
  6. I honestly don't remember exact dates. I know my first system I actually owned was the Sega Genesis. Before that I was solely playing on my cousin's NES. Not sure why I picked the Genesis over the SNES. SNES was probably more expensive. After that I bought a Gameboy, then a Gameboy Color. Then around the time FF7 came out I bought a PSX after having played it at my friends house. From then on I remember trading in my systems for credit toward a new system. This is when I started doing it. I got a Gameboy Advance, then eventually an Advance SP. I bought my PS2 around the time Tekken Tag Tournament came out. I traded in my PSX at this time. And honestly, I'm not sure why I got a ps2 at the time. Tekken Tag was the only decent thing I could find at the time I bought it. I guess I just wanted something new and shiny. Is this around the time the DS came out? I don't remember, but the DS was the first system I ever bought myself with my own money. I was in college at the time. I got it bundled with a Mario and Luigi RPG I can't remember. Something about time or something. I eventually ended up getting a DS Lite. Then I got a PS3 in late 2007. I bought it with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I think around this time my ps2 had stopped reading discs. then I got a PSP years later. I don't remember why either. Years after that I bought a used PSP Go, which I still have and is awesome. I then bought a used PS2 slim from a friend to play my old ps2 games. I still have it hooked up to my tv to this day. Got a Wii around the time Smash Bros Brawl came out. My fat ps3 died around late 2010 and I ended up buying a ps3 slim when those came out. Eventually I got a 3DS.....twice for some reason. The first one I traded in for credit towards a Vita and the second time I traded in for credit towards an iPad Mini. I just wasn't a fan of it. Still ain't. I've had a lot more fun with the Vita and the iPad mini. Then I got a PS4 on release day. And a Wii U after that. Sadly, I'm not a fan of the Wii U either. I'll probably sell it once I need money for ps4 games. I'm a real Mario and Castlevania whore. That's basically the reason I've bought every Nintendo handheld til now. Though I think that might be over with. I'm primarily a Playstation fan overall. I have great memories of all my playstation consoles. I've steered clear of Xbox solely because of the focus that they put on the fps genre and online multiplayer. Two things I still tend to dislike to this day. There are exceptions, but for the most part I'm not a fan. My timeline is severely out of order, but that's off the top of my head.
  7. Oops, I didnt see it said Nintendo. Sorry.
  8. I didn't count Arkham Knight because it comes out next year. It's too far off. Otherwise id put Persona 5 on here too. Plus, I feel im Batman'ed out right now. The trailer for Knight looked awesome, but it really did look like the other Batman games. Im assuming its very similar and after Origins I realized how tired I was of the formula. Hopefully outside of the batmobile this new game freshens up the franchise with a lot of new stuff. Which is ironic because AC can be accused of the same thing, but I have way more fun with that formula. I can play AC games every year til god knows when.
  9. "Remember how awesome the 90s were", "If you remember this, you were a 90s kid", "AIDs was coolest in the 90s" and such articles, mostly by Buzzfeed. I hate them.
  10. Outside of remasters and remakes, Assassin's Creed Unity and Dragon Age Inquisition. Maybe The Evil Within. I haven't seen enough of it to judge. I'm also not sure about Destiny. Im sure itll be a good game, but probably not for me.
  11. Im several years late, but I finally saw "Seven." It was pretty rad.
  12. I think most of us in the US live in constant fear of accidents and sickness. If it's because we value or lives or because we don't want to be in debt for the rest of it is up for debate.
  13. Needs more homophobia and antisemitism.
    1. Mister Jack

      Mister Jack

Oh my god, the video actually fades into an American flag waving majestically. That's something I'd expect on a South Park parody.

  14. Guacamelee is awesome. I assumed you already played it since it was on PS3 and Vita. I think people say its hard because of the bosses. Some of them are tricky. The game is also deep enough that you can do all kinds of challenging things with the mechanics.
  15. It's funny, but Alice: Madness Returns did OoT's combat gameplay way better than any other Zelda since OoT. Or any other game(Darksiders) that tried to be like 3D Zelda. And Im not saying Alice MR is a good Zelda replacement because it isnt(it doesnt have the puzzles Zelda does), just saying it did the core of Zelda better. And yet somehow Alice MR was shitted on by critics for having antiquated gameplay. Yet Zelda hasnt changed much since OoT and as we all know, everyone loves it.
  16. I think most people on here love the game, but Im there with you. Played it for the first time on 3DS and it wasn't really that great, it was honestly barely good. I honestly don't care if people love it and have nostalgia for it since I have the same feeling for other games, but a lot of fans say that it's aged well. It hasn't. That's just factually wrong. The idea and premise behind OoT is fantastic, but the story isnt and the gameplay isn't. Though Zelda isnt really known for story. And yes, maybe for it's tike it was fantastic and I wont take that away from people....as long as they admit it hasn't aged well. - biggest OoT hater on this forum
  17. Has PSN ever had a 4th of July sale? Whats the point of being the greatest country in the world if we cant get a goddamn PSN sale? I hope we get one tomorrow, Murica.
  18. Sup, brah. Smoke weed all day every day. Later.
  19. I finally realized why I find Mystique changing her eye color to let the audience know its her to be so damn goofy. It's because Michael Jackson does it at the end of Thriller. This film franchise is over a decade old and it never not looks funny. They need to stop that.
  20. I didn't know Superman was in "The Crow."

  21. American Hustle. Lots of Amy Adam's side boob/cleavage. Good stuff.
  22. Well, to unlock the "true" boss and the "true "ending, you're going to have to redo a lot of the missions. Its impossible to experience everything in the game without redoing certain things. Especially if you care about unlocking all the stuff Motherbase has. Anyways, the story also sucks, what little it has. The best story parts are the audiotapes you can find.
  23. Peace Walker bums me out. Possibly the grindiest nonrpg ever made.
