  1. Hmm. I don't look up the endings and choose what I want on the first playthrough of games with multiple endings. I may look up some things like all the different factions like in Fallout to avoid getting stuck on an ending path just because I happen to see and help one faction first. I want to know if something will lock me out or if I'm still free to choose another path. After that, if I feel the need to replay the game, I look up the other endings and choose my preferred path. I don't really play a game blind for the 2nd time. In JRPGs, I usually look up what sidequests I need to do to get the "best" ending.
  2. I love Saints Row IV. It's good fun. The Re-elected version with all the DLCs is probably the best version to buy since it has all the DLCs. If you're new to the series, well, this game is an open world game with super powers. This entry is kind of different than the others before it, since the upped the craziness here and made the game a parody of other video games (even more than before). You'll appreciate the humor there if you're familiar with those other games (like Mass Effect for example). And it's a lot of fun using your super powers. I feel like they nailed it on how it should feel to have super powers, it feels good to use them and you have a clear advantage over enemies (like how it should be, you have super powers!), unlike other super hero games. The story though has a lot of references to older games in the series. So you may not be able to completely appreciate what's up with your crew. Take Shaundi or Benjamin King for example. Their stories heavily rely on your knowledge of the older games. I played SR2, so I get what Shaundi's problem is, but Benjamin King's issues were SR1 related, and I had no clue what happened then so I kind of didn't relate to him at all. So you might miss out on those things. Having said that, it's not really hard to follow any of it. It's not the best game to jump into the series, but it's a good game. I'd say if you at least played SR3, then go get it. If you're new, it'll come down to how you like the super powers and Saints Row's humor.
  3. Gat Out of Hell is depressing. The only good thing about the game is the addition of the flight mechanics. Although I would say that gliding around and running up buildings in Steelport in SR4 is still much more fun. Sure, everyone knows its a glorified DLC, but they could have done so much more, or at least a proportional amount of effort based on the size/scope of the game. I guess I could also mention the Saints Row humor as a good thing (if you're playing the series you must like it to some degree), the main quest line for IV had plenty of that, that was fun. This game though, it doesn't really have a main quest line, so you don't get any of that. All you get following the main quest line is a few lines of intro and then it sends you to unrelated mini games (the usual fraud, mayhem, etc). Those are fun as diversions go, but not as a replacement to actual story missions. I did watch the YouTube cutscene compilation (I love that people do this for every game nowadays), and what they had at the later part of the game seemed on point, but I don't want to sit and wade through all the crap to get there. As for playable characters, there's no customization options at all. You could choose Gat or Kinzie, but that's it. This really hurts the game IMO, and takes away a lot of the fun. Plus, I never really cared much about Gat. I think he's pretty cool as a side character, but I found out that I didn't really want to play as him. And I don't like Kinzie at all (plus she's kind of out of character in this game, probably just added so you still have the option of a female protagonist, like in previous games). And personally, since this may be the end of the current Saints Row canon (with 5 being rumored to be reboot), I didn't like that the fate of the Saints depended on Johnny, and not The Boss. What happened? Well, you should play the gamewatch the endings on YouTube to find out. How The Saints Saved Christmas DLC for SR4 is a lot more entertaining than this game. That'll take only about 2-3 hours of your time. You should go play it now while it's still Christmas to get the full effect!
  4. WTF! This is the first time I've ever hit a game-breaking bug! I don't think this has ever happened to me before... My homies are all unavailable (even though they aren't really), and I can't trigger any more missions to progress the story. I was having so much fun... Edit: Managed to fix it. In case anyone encountered the same issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/206420/discussions/0/630799997652926872/
  5. This game is awesome. Crazy awesome. The president beats Cole in climbing buildings. (I'm also watching The Flash (season one!) right now so I'm really finding the super sprint super cool) Although does anyone know if you can dress up your crew? I mean, there's a set of super hero costumes I got from the DLCs and I don't want to be the only one wearing tights.

Litigation is not worth the effort since I doubt anybody has any money. You might have a decent trademark infringement claim, but I doubt it's worth fighting over.

  6. So I got bored with the timer and constant Chronostatis / kill big monster for more Chronostatis loop that I decided to see if there were any mods for the PC version to eliminate this. And there it was, CheatEngine, can basically freeze time, or slow it down to real-time (1 in-game minute was about 2 real-time seconds), so I decided to give that a try. 50 game hours later... So yeah, it's basically cheating, but man it made the game so much fun for me. I didn't have to worry about the clock constantly, and I can just casually explore the world, get the side quests, and do all kinds of stuff (like how JRPGs are supposed to be!!!). It's cheating, but not by much, as there were only a handful of quests that actively make use of the timer. Having completed the whole game, I still think the timer was a bad idea. They should have just moved the clock based on side quests if they wanted a time to matter (turning in a side quest step or completing it may costs you 6 in-game hours. Maybe you wanna farm a bit before turning it in, or talk to some people first). That's a lot more tolerable! I guess the proper way to play this game is to relax and just go through the day, do what you can and live with it, try again in NG+. But I don't know... I've been conditioned to complete stuff as I see it by all JRPGs that came before it (always watching out for that point of no return). And I guess you're also not meant to complete everything. But whatever. Almost totally confused by the story though. I understood what's currently happening, but the lore didn't make much sense to me, had to look up what the hell stuff was to understand it. There's a lot of things they say here, that you just have to accept, that there's no concrete explanation given, but I don't really mind that. I just wished they articulated stuff a lot more clearly. Because some people on the internet could clearly do better. So yeah, overall, I liked this game. And the series too, I guess. I forgot. One plot point that I found really interesting was:
  7. Ah yes, I get what you mean. Though you might want to spoiler that, Strangelove!
  8. What ending did you get? Witcher 3 was one of few games in recent memory where I was really happy about the ending.
  9. Yeah it looks like a good upgrade choice, though I hate waiting. Especially when I have games to play on PC now. And holiday break is coming soon... Maybe I'll give it till Tomb Raider comes out... I wonder if that'll be enough to handle the hair physics as well... Can the 760 run current games on 1080p at 30fps?
  10. I managed to put together one that even has a GUI to view the stats! Tracks any app time spent to the second and logs each gaming session! It's super cool! Well, not really, but doing stuff like this is something I enjoy (it's like DIY stuff, but with software). ---- Anyhoo! I'm thinking if I should upgrade my GPU now, or wait for better prices later and splurge on the really good ones (like wait for a card with 2x the performance). I have a GTX 560 Ti, and my only options right now are a GTX 960, or a GTX 760 (not even a Ti!). I could also get a 970 but I don't like the price difference. But that benches at around 8000+ so it definitely will give me twice what I have now. Here's the comparison stuff. That tells me I'm not getting 2x the performance of my current card (really? I feel like my card's so old now), so looks like it's not worth it. What I really want is playing games on 1080p though, even on Medium settings. Right now I can't run games on 1080p without sacrificing a lot. But if I switch to 720p my card seems to perform really well till now. EDIT: Lol. It's pretty dumb getting a "BUY NOW!" tag on my card there. They should automatically remove that for cards that old!
  11. Disqus. Nothing against the platform, it's actually quite cool that a comments platform allows for a profile to be used with multiple sites, but every time I see it now, I roll my eyes before even reading a single comment. Removing the barrier of registering for an account (and actually having them already logged in, ready to fire a comment away) really attracts those who posts things without giving it a second of thought.
  12. Umm... You're supposed to complain about lag and Sunbreakers in PVP, not enjoy them!
  13. Ooh I was the last post here... I got back into this (I'm really juggling a lot of games right now). I found the areas with the mobs that give you more EP, however, it hasn't eliminated the feeling that I have to rush things. In towns, sometimes you just want to stop and look at things, follow people, jump on stuff, try out different costumes and run around (people do comment on whatever you're wearing). But every time I want to do it, I can't because I can't stop feeling I'm wasting precious time. Ok, so they give you mobs that basically refill your EP so you can stop time again and again. It would have been fine if that was the only problem, it's tedious but I can just keep going to certain areas, kill stuff, and have my EP up again. But no, they have to make mobs limited in number, so even if you're doing this, there's still that feeling that you're wasting precious EP by not actively doing quests. I'm enjoying the sidequests, even though they're really just fetch quests more or less, but they all have their own little story. It's a good way to learn about the world and how people now live in it. But the timer really sucks out the enjoyment in this game. At least for me. I've resorted to using a guide (for side quests at least), because I can't waste time wandering around the town searching every corner. I don't like it but it feels like I have no choice if I want to actually complete stuff. Especially when quests are time-gated themselves! Maybe later on in the game I'll understand why people say the timer doesn't matter that much. But that's too late in the game, people like me would have already stopped playing, like I did before. Good thing I actually like the XIII games so I really want to complete this.
  14. I meant how could Telltale have done worse, as the vibe i'm getting is LiS was way better, if the internet is to be believed. I'm (mostly!) happy with how LiS handled consequences.
  15. Well, I haven't played any of their games actually. But I do like the show a lot. Obviously this one doesn't have time manipulation stuff but why do people say Dontnod did it better? Honestly I can't imagine how you could do worse with the genre, unless your choices really don't matter (oh the irony).
  16. Game of Thrones Season Pass is $5 on PSN. Yes? No? I'm still hung up on Life is Strange, but the ending kind of put me off on replaying it. So I'm stuck not knowing what I want to play, but I kind of want to play a similar game...
  17. I'm watching a let's play of this game and I have to say the facial animations look really cool. Frame rate keeps dropping though. Not sure if it's just the video. But it's probably the game. When does this release on PC/PS4?!? I want to play already!
  18. Finished it today. I'm disappointed. Episode 5 is
  19. Oh, I can't use my rewind powers now? No matter, I have an even greater power. It's called "Restart last checkpoint".

I've only done it once but only because I got frustrated since I did everything right except for 1 little thing. This was in Episode 2, and you'll probably know what I'm talking about. I just thought I could have used more hints in that exchange, given how thorough I have been and how much I paid attention to this person's stuff.

Besides, I already figured out that this is what will happen so I've made it a goal to act accordingly. It paid off, but 1 little mist...

Ah, yeah, I don't blame you for doing it at that part. I actually surprised myself and managed to do it on the first try without looking anything up, but I totally would have loaded the checkpoint if I'd lost in a way that I felt was unfair.

  20. I finished watching The 100. It's an ok show, anyway, I just wanna say (super spoilers including season 2 ending) I do like that they aren't dragging things out to extend the plot. In season 1 and 2 they have clearly defined "objectives" and they complete these arcs satisfactorily IMO within the season, then introducing a new challenge in the next. The set up for season 3 so far looks intriguing. So I'll continue watching the show. Hopefully they keep this pace up and keep things interesting.
  21. The only game that has a chance to be played this year is Fallout 4. We'll see if I can get on that during the holiday break. But I still have to complete my NG+ for Witcher 3, and another run for my "Geralt the Jerk" playthrough. I'm running out of usable save slots on PS4. I don't imagine Fallout 4 topping my Witcher 3 experience, so I voted for Witcher 3. Specifically, Witcher 3 with Hearts of Stone. Hearts of Stone is a really, really cool piece of DLC.
  22. Hmm.. I already have it uninstalled, but I checked my Raptr profile online and Life is Strange was added... So maybe it was missing in the list (because I'm 100% sure it wasn't there) because it was already in my library? But there were only 3 games on the sidebar in the main interface and Life is Strange wasn't there...
