  1. DC should make something like that. I'm not much of a Marvel fan, only of the X-Men, but I like a lot of DC's heroes. Maybe because they're the ones i knew growing up, except for Spiderman and the X-Men. I did have a sub to marvel's unlimited before. It was in 2009 i think and I felt that a lot of the series I wanted to read weren't there yet. But i still get emails from it and they so seem to add a lot of comics every week. The problem is having to wait for the issues to get there knowing they were already out a year ago. But maybe I'm just impatient...
  2. I've been trying to finish Assassin's Creed 3 but I got sidetracked with the homestead missions and promise of more money. Why do you need more money in the first place? I don't know... I just wanted to upgrade my pouch capacity! Now I have 2 ships selling bear pelts! In any case, gameplay wise, this is the best IMO. The combat could be the same old "1 person at a time" a lot of times, but it does have new stuff like the human shield. My fave though is the rope dart which you could use to string people up on ledges or trees. I love it! And capturing forts is still fun (it's only as fun as you want it to be)! Too bad Connor is too... Boring. I need to finish it so I can get me some Lara Croft action!
  3. Is that from The Last Question? Seems familiar. Though that wasn't a book, right?
  4. I just read about that ridiculous puzzle, since it was linked in an article about this game and Steam. I can't believe there is such a thing as an unsolvable puzzle in a video game. Wow. Though it actually made me not want to play it. I hate puzzles. Still, that was cool.

  7. But that's not the point of the idea (again, from what I think they mean). Because that version would be boring!
  8. I think the idea though, is that you are your character. And if you know Spanish, great! Then if not, just buy a translator (like you would in real life, if such things existed). That's what I inferred, since it is an RPG. The skill check I was talking about is attached to the device. Like if the device gives you Translate Spanish Skill +10, then you'd figure out half of what he's saying by the game giving you a translated version where you'll get half of what he's actually saying. If it gives you Translate Spanish Skill +20, then the game would tell you what the NPC is actually trying to say. Sarcasm included! If your character had a Spanish skill, this would kill the idea.
  9. Heard this from the Dtoid podcast, but I'm not going to type that quote in myself so I'm just gonna link to google's first search result http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/02/heres-an-interesting-idea-multiple-languages-in-cyberpunk/ I was going to post something similar to the AC3 thread, but mine was a complaint. I wish they just had native american accents, instead of native american language conversations. I didn't mind it that much in AC2 when they mixed English with Italian, but in AC3 it sure did drive me (still drives me) crazy. Maybe it's just the language is so monotonous and boring, and the Italian interjections in AC2 had feelings/emotions attached to it So I'm not quite sure on this, but yeah I agree it could be cool. It sure would be immersive "getting lost" in, say, Argentina 2077 and people only speaking in Spanish, and I didn't have Spanish classes growing up. I'd have to buy that cheap little translator thing, and hope for the best. I'd say it should work like google translate, where it translates words, not phrases and you'd have to figure out what they actually mean through context and observation (of whatever action/gesture they're doing for example), instead of just adding a skill check, and throwing out different levels of "translated text", getting more and more correct if you're skill is high enough.
  10. I was looking for a website, where they compile video game stories so you could read them instead of playing through them again (because that takes a lot of time). I found this YouTube channel.

well of course they do, details is what would make it an hour long if not more. What I do nowadays if I want to see a game's plot in its entirety without having to put in the effort of playing it is seeing the game's walkthrough.

You could also visit the game's individual wiki, those usually have more detail than Wikipedia does.

  12. Oops. I typed something in but then I checked previous pages and realized I haven't posted it yet. Anyway, it's about how they're going back to more "simple objective" based missions ala AC 1. I hate the missions in AC 3, 'cause they make you do all these things that aren't really interesting. Whole missions / objectives where you don't get to do a single assassination, or even attempt an assassination. Making you throw tea leaves overboard, acting like a commander ordering people to fire. Escorting old dude on a rampage. I think they should do away with these missions, where you orchestrate shit. Let other people do it, and at the same time assign objectives for you where you get to do assassin' stuff. Maybe while they're throwing tea leaves, they should send you out intercepting enemy soldiers before they get to the ship (by air assassinating the leaders or whatever, you could just charge them if you feel like it). Assassinate redcoat commanders behind enemy lines while these people defend the bridge. But then AC:2 had story missions, and I don't know why I was never bothered with it. Maybe it's just Connor being an unlikeable, naive protagonist. Not to mention how boring he sounds, speaks. Or maybe AC3 just forgot it was an Assassin's Creed game so it ended up asking you to do shitty things. It's too bad because I like the mechanics in AC3. My new favorite is leaning on walls, or hiding in hay and whistling. Edit: Oh and the combat. Every installment's improvements makes me like the combat more and more.

Yeah being able to pin more apps is the thing I like most about the new start menu. I have a column for my most used apps (we don't say programs anymore ) which would be the ones I pinned to the start menu before, then another for shit I seldom use, which I had to dig up / type in the start menu to launch. Also, never go into the "all programs" menu (right click on start menu, and click on lower leftright). You will curse yourself for doing it. Just pin whatever you need. The start screen scrolls anyway, so, unlimited space. I also want to be able to make custom images for non-metro tiles in there. I believe Ethan posted something for that in this thread. It doesn't look like Decor8 could do it.
  15. I thought that Total Life Forever was the first. I didn't really look them up, I just heard them one day and thought they were new. Maybe I'll try to look the first album up. Anyway...
  16. It's still extremely reverb heavy and obviously not what the guy would sound like live. Just two ways to approach vocal production and neither are styles that come close to sounding like the real thing. I don't mind it on this one, though. On their last record, like on Total Life Forever, I end up laughing a bit whenever I hear it, especially when trying to sing along. But I youtubed the album and it looks like he still does it on the other songs.
  17. I heard that from NFS, too, last week! I'm currently listening to the album!
  18. I like it! Sounds different, It doesn't sound like he's singing in an empty ballroom anymore.
  19. AC 4 is going to be Pirate themed! Hooray! It's not the open world/sandbox/adventure pirate game I've been praying for but I'll take whatever I can at this point.

It was? I just assumed it wasn't cause of Assassin's Creed. Like then area is huge but not really much to do except for minimal questing. But I did see a map of the caribbean.

What I want is something like fable or elder scrolls kind of open world. Plus ship battles and sword fights.

That might be asking for a bit too much from Ubi in terms of size. But the Kotaku article says it's an open-world sea with other missions in islands and stuff of the sort. So I'm fucking game.

Well I wasn't asking that from Ubi/AC. Just someone create one like that. I'd have to read that article though. Honestly I just heard it from the daily fix podcast. I don't read stuff anymore.

  20. How do you identify a gigabit ethernet port? Is it mentioned somewhere on some windows config page?
  21. Is there a wrong word being used here? Yes!!! Wi-fi only!
  22. This exactly. Every feature revealed had me going "Ooh that's cool I want that!". Though that Vita remote play might be Vita only, from what I've read. It didn't say that but said "Wifi network". I'm sold already, and most likely will be an early adopter, based on everything I've read so far.
  23. Not what I expected at all based on the status posts...
  24. Holy Crap. I just watched a summary of dead space 1 and it makes me want to play the game for the story. Too bad i'm junpy and I don't know if I'd be able to handle it.... Maybe.... Is there an easy mode?

^That. They're also good about only doing what you expect them to do about 50% of the time, so you're never actually SURE if there are going to be enemies or not.

WTF. I just didn't reply earlier and I was pretty confident already with Chew and Atomsk's suggestions... Damn you!

I'll probably get the first game when it's on sale again though.

  25. WSJ reports mention taking screenshots and videos will be one function of the new touchpad, and they say touchpad, not a screen. I think I've read here that PS3 can actually do those it's just that no one does it. SR3 had a video recording option on the PC version, i doubt the PS3 had it though. Oh wait, touchpad with a share button probably means having a screen? I actually didn't read it from WSJ, only the article from the verge.
