  1. I don't know anything about Android's file system, so I just want to quickly ask, what can you do with the SD card on a Galaxy Note II? Without rooting of course. Just store media files like movies/music? Can you download or install apps to it? Can you save app data on it (from any app?)?
  2. I kinda like using a Mac, but man this theme is so boring. Any mac users here have any suggestion? I miss my yellow folders!

Don't know what to tell you, I've never even tried to "change the theme" before as I think it looks great they way it is. You can label folders if you control click on them.

You can "get info" on a folder, then select the small icon at the top and copy or paste different icons/graphics.

  3. That cover looks like a dragon wrapping itself around a huge pie. His eyes say he's ready to eat it, too!
  4. I do know who the other Kyle is, and I very much doubt it was him. Unless they set up this elaborate scheme to mess with my mind, I believe it was CrowKnow. Stop messing with my mind, Kyle! Unless you're a Kyle too, Saturnine. In which case, send me more gifts. Please and thank you.
  5. So I got this: Which is from Kyle, but I don't see any mention of what his username here is. However, I have expertly deduced that it is CrowKnow*, based on the fact that the username on the gift email has Chrno in it and he seems to like the number 13, or rather, XIII in roman numerals (I checked his PSN ID!). I'm going to give Sherlock a run for his money with these skills. Also because dude you viewed my profile twice since targets were assigned, and I don't think I remember sharing a thread page with you. DISCLAIMER: *God I hope I got this right, otherwise it would be embarrassing for me and I might potentially offend my secret santa! But I'm posting this because I'm 99.9% sure of it. For me, this is one of those games you really seem to like, but for some reason, haven't bought it yet. So it was really quite a surprise when I received the gift email! I'm going to have a few gigs to download when I get home, but it should be ready for the weekend and I'll be having some fun! Thanks Kyle! Happy Holidays!
  6. Yeah, they're around $1.99. I might have to go with whatever lifehacker suggests. In the article itself or in the comments. Some have lite versions, which is always good. I've bought some full apps after trying out the lite versions after a week or so. Oh! Word games! I'm playing Writer Rumble. I suck though. I don't know how other people find consecutive 5 letter words. I need to read more. But still, it's pretty fun. It's like a fighting game where you throw words instead of hadoukens. There are powers too for different characters though not that many (x3 damage, +health, hide words, reverse letters etc). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8QfkbRU8Mw
  7. Anyone here using any iDevice and Google Music? Which app do you use or recommend? I'm trying to do research but oh my god each app says they're #1 I can't decide!
  8. Does he/she own the game now? You should be able to check. Sucks if they bought it. However, there's little you can do about it so If he/she bought the game, you can gift that one to me instead.
  9. I doubt that. She doesn't pass the breast size requirement.
  10. Yep. That's it. Season 5 is the time travel season. Season 6 is... well... we need to end the show sometime. I still liked it more than 3! The Constant is Desmond's episode in Season 4, the one where his consciousness time travels.
  11. I thought you said "and most of all, the third". I think the 3rd is the weakest, and only redeemed by the plot twist at the very end. Man, season 4 of LOST is my favorite. Season 1 might be better overall, but Season 4 is crazy. I have a hard time convincing others to watch it up to that point though, as you have 3 full seasons that you really need to watch to be able to understand what the hell is happening in Season 4... I just want them to watch "The Constant".
  12. I think the pacing in that show is excellent. I guess I got used to other shows where they drag on and on, but I found myself quite surprised with how some of the events turned out. Also, Carrie Mathison is Jack Bauer reborn.
  13. I have mine planned out. Just hope it doesn't take until the 27th to get some of those items discounted.
  14. LP got you? I was hoping for a custom Tidus and Yuna sketch! (While making this joke I realized a lot of my favorite games don't have a set hero. Even Shep (I play femshep) doesn't have one. And I'm scared of Geralt). Anyway, cool! Now I'm getting excited. Might have to check on that wishlist again, looks like it was updated. Also, mine got kinda updated (HINT, HINT!). I'm kidding I'm kidding! Or am I?
  15. I'm hooked on Infinity Blade!

Yeah I find the combat to be really satisfying. It takes some skill so it's not all just stat based grinding.

I got a gem from the gem wheel that deals 5000 damage when you do a perfect parry. So it made things easier too. And I love being overpowered without cheating.

Is that an IB2 thing? Last time I played IB there was no gem wheel... not outside the sword-locked door anyway.

I think it's new. And people have complained it made the game easier! I don't know how I got the gem wheel, but I had 3 spins for it, and got 3 gems each worth 500,000. I couldn't sell them as they're pretty useful.

  16. Yeah, that's an option. It's useful for storing backups, but not media or disc images though, as you've said, for storing them only. But I guess those are uncommon enough. The thing is, I may have to reformat my drives, and I wanted to see if there is a better option than FAT32. I had hoped I would just be able to mount my NTFS drive on a Mac and I don't have to move my files around. It's not like NTFS is new. It's been around for a while there should be reliable solutions for it (I did search and it looks like there is one, but I don't know how reliable, as people are still saying you can't do that on a mac). It's my fault for not sticking to the standard! Goddamn proprietary shit ruins everything I swear if I ever own a gadget like... oh wait nevermind.
  17. I'm gonna make it hard for you guys. Awesome games on sale, but we also have awesome people here who might get these games for you. I know I'm having trouble with my stuff as well. Share my pain.
  18. Oh. I got a Mac Mini for stuff I need to do. So in addition to having just the PS3 read my HD, I now have a Mac I have to consider when deciding how external drives are formatted, which got me to thinking why is there still a limit on a FAT32 drive and why is there nothing better than that that is universally supported. I just want to format my hard drives in some universal format where I could store files > 4gb. The PS3 reads only FAT32 disks, to answer the question. I solved that problem by just streaming stuff to it.
  19. I was wondering: As a Windows user, I format my drives in NTFS, including external Hard Drives. For the sole reason that they support files > 4GB (backup of Steam games, Movie rips, etc). Problem is, I have to move files to my other external drive formatted in FAT32 so I can plug it in to my PS3 or any other computer, using Linux or Mac. Now FAT32 is supported by all, but why is it that we still have this 4GB file size limit? Actually, I don't really need to know the answer to that, it just seems to me that we should have something better than that by now. What I'd really like to know though, NTFS can be used in Linux, but what about on a Mac?
  20. Holy Crap! iTunes Match quadrupled my play counts :(. And not for all songs so I couldn't just find a program to divide by 4! :(

I hate when I backup my computer...reinstall Itunes...and somehow have 5 copies of the same song.

Using iTunes on Windows? I'm sorry.

It's not even an iTunes windows issue... It's a match issue...

  21. Bands like Silversun Pickups, Two Door Cinema Club or A Silent Film, as well as hipstery-ish bands (or at least they used to be!) like MGMT or The Black Keys or Passion Pit (yesilikethemsowhat!lol). They usually have only 2-3 albums out as of now and they're the ones you hear on alternative radio stations. But looking at that list by chewie, it has Incubus' song from their first album, not to mention The Clash and the Rollingstones song. I admit though I'm not very familiar with those bands, and I thought/assumed that Bush song was old (it wasn't!). I think the oldest band in my library is The Cure. And they're the only band in there that was before 1998. I don't listen to "the classics" at all... And I'm older than you guys are! The only one I know I've seen post familiar music was Sporkwaffles and Johnny. Back on topic though: I approve of Summer Romance. Not that it's a favorite of mine, but they sure like that song.
  22. I was wondering what you guys were talking about, and scrolled back to find it was BSG! They lost me at Season 3, too. And I couldn't get interested enough to finish it. EDIT: Wow. This was old. Oh well... Also getting ready to watch Boardwalk Empire Season 3. I hope it's a good season! I held out on watching this so I could do a marathon...
  23. I'm curious why there is a lack of current alternative music in there. Or in our other music threads. I feel uncool listening to current alternative On topic, I have a similar separate playlist named "Public". It's for when other people are listening. Because I don't know anyone who listens to new alternative stuff as much as I do. So this playlist usually contains my radio friendly songs that still happen to be cool, IMO.
  24. I'm going to be filling this thread with cool little games! Mikey Shorts is an addicting little platformer, where you touch people turned to stone and they come back to life! Or something. There's a story in there somewhere, also something about golden short pants... Controls are just back, forward, slide and jump. There are coins scattered around, there are "enemy" robots that don't really hurt you, they just block your path. The levels are simple, the game's not about difficulty, but about speed, timing and mastery of the levels. It's a time trial, basically. You have to touch all stone statues though to complete the levels. There's also a ghost mode where it plays your fastest run while you're running the level, so you'll know if you're ahead of your previous time. And the coins don't really matter. You could customize Mikey Shorts by buying stuff from the store using your collected coins. Mine's got an afro and sideburns now. The leaderboards right now look legit, and I find myself replaying levels for 10-20 minutes just to get into the top 100, or top 50. I actually got to #9 on one of the levels! Hurray! I don't know how I else I could improve that run, though. EDIT: Oh! Forgot to mention there's a Halloween version of the game that is out for free, if you wanna try the game. Mikey Shorts is $0.99.
