  1. Ok. So with all the patches and enhancements they keep making, they still can't put in an Increase Text Size option. It should be fairly easy to do, and they even did it on the 360 version. So for those who are playing this game on their TVs and making their eyes hurt with the micro text, I'm going to link this here: http://en.thewitcher...od-comfy-couch/ It's really made the text (Inventory text, Journal, HUD text, the subtitles were already readable anyway) very easy to read. You might want to install the comfycouch + the comfyfont (the texts are "wide" with the comfy font, making them easier to read). There is also a "Dynamic HUD" mod which turns off HUD, except the minimap, when geralt's sword is sheathed. I'll try to post screenshots in a bit, or just go to the thread. You guys might already know and use this mod, but with the name "comfy couch", it doesn't really scream "increase text size mod". oh also as mentioned in the thread, you have to rename the file comfysomething.dzip to aa_comfysomething.dzip so it loads first. This is a workaround if you have patch 3.2.
  2. Got it for $0.74 at GMG. It's $3.74 and I traded in some free game I got from GMG some time back.
  3. Beat Arkham City. Real ending spoilers below!
  4. Spoiler: Joker watches Lost! *GASP* I was listening to him in one of the TVs saying something about we not being satisfied with answers, and I was saying to myself "Yeah he's right, just like Lost". Then he mentioned the church and there it was.
  5. Finished AC: Revelations. It's really more of the same, but if you love AC then you'll like this, too. Brotherhood felt better though. Regarding the story... Man... you really shouldn't avoid these two extra games. You'd get lost playing the third (well, the fifth really) if you haven't. So much stuff has happened. And there really are "Revelations" in this game. But I'm not complaining. However, I think they should finish the damn story with AC3. Some parts of me wants them to milk it because I just like playing these games so much, but then that means we'd have to wait for another year for the story to really end... I'd definitely be buying AC3 day one. I hope steam does a preload/download thing so I can play on the Tuesday it gets released. Desmond levels suck. I'm gonna watch those on youtube instead. To think I gathered all data fragments for those things...
  6. So I hooked up my PC to the TV, and my plan is to just use this PC like a console, since I still have my laptop I can browse the internet and do other stuff on. It's kinda awkward still using a keyboard and mouse to navigate to the games since I don't have a table. I'm not sure if there's anything to be done about it, but any cool ideas?

I think that's a good idea, really. When I get my own laptop I'm planning on using the desktop PC to replace our TV cable entirely.

I got a wireless keyboard with built in touchpad for my HTPC so I can use it on my lap like TFG said.

Steam will have TV mode? Hmmm... I think that's exactly what I'm looking for, gonna have to see what that's about. Thanks! For now, yeah probably a wireless keyboard with touchpad would probably do it. The mouse is really what makes it awkward.

  7. NEW PC!!! SO HAPPY!!! Installing Witcher 2 now, excited to try it since sysreq labs says i have a full green bar!

Sysreqlab is fine as long as you understand that all it's doing is comparing your stats to the official requirements, and is sometimes stupid about how it does so. Use it as a guideline, but don't take it as gospel.

I've never seen one before - no one has - but I'm guessing it's a white hole.

  8. Not really into gaming on an iPad so that's not such a bother. However everything else looks amazing here. I'm mainly going to use this for Internet browsing and magazines and comics and maybe I'll start reading books, because of that screen..... Charging issues seems to be due to extensive usage. Eh, even if it charges slower it's not such a big deal. Besides, I've always regretted getting some other gadget instead of the one I really want, usually happens when I over think the decision. Also the reason why I didn't wait for the nexus 7(and since I'm on the apple ecosystem anyway). It's has the better screen, it's newer, it's probably going to get longer support (like iOS 7 or 8) than the iPad 2.
  9. So far, I've got the following. Total cost of $42.94. Still haven't passed the $59.99 price point. It's gonna come soon though. Got something I want from today's deals. However, what I really want is for Mafia II to be under $10. I can get it from gmg for $12 and it's currently at $15 from steam. But there's still time.

That was me! And I missed it ... oh well.
  11. I've wanted one since the 2 came out (this is the new one by the way). Should ship tomorrow. I'm excited!
  12. Ugh... you guys are making my head hurt comparing prices in different currencies... Anyway, I saw that too, the $3.99 price point. For marvel comics as well. DC's stuff I think is lower, at $2.99 but yeah it's the same for me. Other indie/smaller publishers stuff is around $2-$3 too I think. Scott pilgrim stuff is priced at $6.99 when I bought it, I think it's reasonable, though yeah "level of art" is different. I can buy music tracks at $0.99 and get more enjoyment out of them. I just don't see myself buying digital comic books at $3.99. But hey, I guess it depends on how much you value comics.

So the current results (survey allows users to vote for multiple games): The way I see it, out of the top 10, 5 are possible ports. Out of all this 20, 14 are possible candidates, with only 6 of them being in the "ridiculous" category.

Just to put that video into context, here's the list that Ouya released, which I grouped into categories. IMO, it doesn't deserve that ridiculous laugh track at the end of the video. DISCLAIMER: This is the only list I could find... I think this is the list out of the "45,000 suggestions". I couldn't see any actual results so if there are actual results posted somewhere, I'd love to see it. Anyway... "Are you kidding me?": Skyrim Battlefield League of Legends Mass Effect Call Of Duty Assassin's Creed (but there's a PSP release) Phone/Indie/Browser games: Terraria Super Meat Boy Battletoads Limbo Minecraft Fez Bastion Dungeon Defenders Arguably (there are spinoffs/handheld games already): Timesplitter Torchlight (no ports, but it's a fairly old simple game. It can handle it. Controls are another issue) Final Fantasy (the old ones, Crisis Core) Need For Speed FIFA Grand Theft Auto (Chinatown wars, GTA3 iPad) EDIT: Edited for clarity.

Ah is that your problem? Yeah your IP has to match the country you picked for the address on checkout. I've had the same issue when I was away for work. But if you change your country on the steam page then it wouldn't match your card? I forgot how i fixed it. I think I used paypal, I can't remember. Or did I just change the country because they might not check the address on the card? Hmm... The choices was Super meat boy, qube and plants vs zombies.

PLANTS VS ZOMBIES IS ON SALE FOR $2.49 GUYS!!! If you voted for it... I hate you!
  17. Man... i wanted Metro 2033 and QUBE... :(

      CrowKnow

GMG has metro for 5$, seems they ran out of keys though and they took the page down too... Either way the page will eventually be back up or it'll probably eventually be on sale as a steam flash sale. http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/ca/en/pc/games/action/metro-2033/

Oh cool! Gonna keep an eye on it. Thanks for the link!

It was one of the community choice, but got beaten by Bioshock 2...

    3. Cyber Rat

      Cyber Rat

Brink and Witcher 2 both didn't make the community choice sale, but they set them for flash sales afterwards regardless. Portal 2 was on sale, but was then open for a community choice award afterwards. Just keep your eyes open and be patient. Still 7 days left.

  18. Audiosurf: Just one more song...

  19. OK. Revelations is for sure going on sale next. I have enough time to sleep and when I wake up I can buy it.

    Ouya

Sorry for numbering your post like this, but I'm too lazy to quote them separately. I'm not shooting you down or anything, I just want to point out my take on each of this points you make. 1. It doesn't exist. But this is kickstarter. None of these things exist until the backers support it getting made. It's the point of kickstarter. 2. It does sound good! 3. Think of it like the Wii. It's an underpowered home console with it's own gimmick. The gimmick being (potentially!) providing cheap console games for $99 investment. Some might take a risk and make games for it. Maybe it clicks to parents and buys this thing as gifts for their kids (assuming it gets advertised successfully). If enough people have it, it would entice devs to actually make games for it. That's actually what Notch said I think. I don't follow his tweets or whatever crazy shit he says but he's quoted on Ouya articles a lot. Or maybe the Android indie devs to believe in it will make games for it. Also, so few will have it? How do you know? Do you see how much hype it's getting? Did you see how many backed it? I didn't back it and I'm interested in it. There's more people like me, too, who are watching this and would like one. It's not just the 30k people who backed it. How can I prove it? I can't. Can you prove your statement that so few will have it? There's that card game about the sun and galactic empires that P4 posted with the crazy lady. It has 85 backers. It's being made. But I'm not going to go there and tell them what's the point of this thing? Only 85 people want it, you should scrap it. 4. Yes, you can actually hook your pc with the TV. But I always saw it as inconvenient. It has always been inconvenient, because your PC usually isn't in the living room beside the TV. My goddamn laptop is beside the TV, but my HDMI cable won't reach it. It's sitting at the very edge of the table just so the HDMI cable can reach it. I've always thought it's only the few geeks who say this alot but we are talking about general consumers here. Those that can't be bothered with hooking up their PCs, let alone their android tablets with bluetooth controller support. Us nerds (yes I'm calling you a nerd, nerd!) who hack and tweak the shit out of our phones can do this, and we do, to watch TV and shit on our TVs. It's still not as convenient as an apple TV box or that google thing hooked up to the TV playing all your movies. 5. No one is paying anyone to develop indie games. They make indie games because they like making games. And also probably because they want to make money. People also make games to make money, not just get paid to make games that make money. Let's stop using "No one is...", because that is never true. 6. I personally think having a controller would help make android games feel NOT cheap. I say Android because it's not phone games that will be made for this system. It's Ouya games that will be made for the system. My take on this is that only geeks really hook up bluetooth controllers to their tablets to play games, so the vast majority of developers don't bother. If there is an android platform that has a controller, there will be games that will be made to support it. 7. Based on what? I'd say if this goes well, people will make games for it because it's easy and people bought it. But then, where are we (both of us) basing our assumptions on? Nowhere. 8. Come on. The thing has the potential to be a console with games. Let's try to support that idea, shall we? Why give up and just make a TV Box instead? We want to make a console. We'll make a console. If people wanted a TV box they would have supported a kickstarter for a TV box. 9. And I hope you're wrong too. Because I'd really like to see this thing launch and get decent success. But why only get excited once this thing is out? Do you not get excited when your favorite band announced a tour near or on your hometown? That's the point of excitement. When the thing launches, we'll enjoy it, not get excited about it. 10. A candidate won't have the power to effect the changes he or she promises, not until you elect him. This people don't have the ability to show you the games for it, not until it gets made through the support of this kickstarter. You can research a politician and make a judgement call to vote for him or not. You can research these people and make a judgement call on whether you'll be a backer or not. We understand you don't see this thing succeeding, or that you don't see developers supporting this. There are actual quotes on the kickstarter, saying "yeah we could support it" or "this is a great idea". Both of your, and our, and the developers opinions on this thing has the same weight. We all just have to wait and see. I just chose to get excited over this. Because I like the idea, and want to see how far it will go.
  22. I think I mentioned earlier in this thread that I do like shows about school life, college or high school. This was one of the shows I wanted to check out because I remember seeing this pop up and apparently it was good. For some reason I forgot about it, I guess I'll add it back to my queue. I know the title is "favorite TV shows", but I kinda like a general thread where we just comment/talk about shows we recently watched. I mean not every TV show needs to have a thread, because they'd be empty. We're kinda getting off topic here since we are now just talking about recently watched shows. But I don't know, should we continue or just keep this thread as favorites and make a new one? I vote we continue on, as "Favorite" show discussion will only last so long. So I guess we make this the general TV discussion thread? Having said that, I think I'm gonna like Legend of the Seeker. I think I've been watching too many shows that are more "in touch" with reality. I don't know is that a good description? What I mean is shows like (since we're talking about medieval history/history here) Game of Thrones, The Tudors, Rome to name a few. You don't see wizards and magical swords in there, even if it's medieval stuff. This show is medieval fantasy, and it feels like I'm playing a video game. I mean the guy is (minor spoilers) I like it. It feels like he has this main quest, and it looks like each episode (granted I have only seen 2 episodes) would be some kind of side-quest. Looking forward to watching more.
  23. One of my favorites in my old PC gaming days when I was a kid was Eye of the Beholder 3. I missed the GoG sale that was $7.50 or something, I wanted to buy it then. I guess it turned out for the better, as now it's $6 on Steam. I'm gonna try out the hardcore no automap thing. I have memorized the maps when I was a kid on EoB3 (which trees to cut, which levers to pull etc.), but maybe I'm too lazy now to bother with that. We'll see. It's kinda exciting!

So potential goes both ways. So it means this "could be pointless". Not pointless, period. And that's exactly what I'm hoping for. For this to not be pointless. For this to change something in the console landscape. EVERYTHING has the potential to be pointless. The Wii is pointless to me. It bought, what, motion controls to the PS3 and 360. Which was also pointless to me. But not to everyone and their grandmother who bought the thing for their kids and their' kids' kids. We cannot just stop supporting the everything, because it has the potential to fail. And yes you generalize too much (at least here). At least I'm basing my views on it on the $4,309,662 pledged so far, not on what I think people I know would do.
