  1. DA2. So I've been up for 24 hours now playing this game. Well... playing and trying some mods to improve some things here and there. And breaks, eating and watching TV, of course... I was a fan of Neverwinter Nights. However, I found the system for DAO, while similar to NWN, was too much work for me. I did play this but not to completion. Anyway, I got DA2 from the Amazon store, and I've been having a lot of fun with this game. The "dumbed down" aspect kinda appeals to me, and I like the feel of combat. Not saying it's right to dumb down DA when everyone else was expecting another DAO but that's beside the point. I guess it does look like a "Step back" from DAO. I remember DAO's environments being more lively. This game's outside world and towns and dungeons are a little flat. The one thing I am really enjoying though is Hawke. My Rogue Female Hawke likes to makes jokes and is sarcastic. Conversations are never dull. Just some screenshots... I'm thinking of getting some of the DLC now, but dammit they're more expensive than the game itself. I got the game for $5 and the Exiled Prince is I think $6.99. Oh well, we will see... Gotta get some sleep now...
  2. That Google Nexus 7 looks like the ideal tablet. I've heard nothing but good news about it. And it's only $200!

Yeah! I read about the surface and it was pretty cool. But seeing as I'm trying to decide between an iPad and a Kindle, this tablet just looks so appealing.

The Courier never got a release, and didn't the Kin die a death before it was even launched? The Zune might have been the best PMP ever, but again...dead on arrival. I know it's not a hardware maker for Windows Phone, but that's really struggling to build on what was a solid starting point (software wise). I hope it's good, Im just waiting until we actually see the thing in the real world.

  3. I think they're ok. If you're ok with their comics, and Tycho's blog posts then I guess you should be ok with the game, at least the first two, not sure how Penny Arcade translates to a 16-bit game yet, because Gabe's art is not there, so it might feel... incomplete. I played the first one and I enjoyed it. I'd say they are worth the low price there. The Zeboyd games are apparently good, I guess especially so if you love retro gaming. I don't know yet. I just bought the 3rd one so that I could complete the series.
  4. Did you really have lesbian Quarians as your banner?
  5. I've been on a PC gaming kick lately, so I guess I'll try this. Time to play those games I got in the Steam sale. I'm planning on completing the following this July: Bastion Trine Darksiders I've had L.A. Noire and Dragon Age 2 on the PS3, but never completed it. Now I got it from Steam/Amazon for cheap. I guess I can put that in the pile too. L.A. Noire Dragon Age 2 Honestly, I couldn't be bothered to turn on my PS3 at the moment. I guess inFamous would have to wait. Or maybe I'll surpirse myself...
  6. Because having a number in your name is so last decade! Oh wait...
  7. Playing Dragon Age 2 on the PC, due to the sale. I'm enjoying it so far. To posters above: I liked playing DCUO. I don't really enjoy MMOs but getting to be a superhero is fun. Never tried to be a villain though. The alerts and duos are way more fun than playing alone. I don't really touch the PvP part, because I suck at it.
  8. Okay! Mass Effect 3 I agree with Strangelove that this game is epic. It's really a good word to describe it. The mechanics that made ME2 so fun to play has been improved a lot which made it even more fun to play. The story, while rather simple (gather everyone and build this thingamajig!), was presented really well, and it really made kept me at the edge of my seat during those cutscenes and many conversations the game had, eagerly anticipating what's in store for me next. Being the end of a trilogy, there is so much story behind all the events that happened here I really think that contributed a lot to how I felt playing this game. Also, the extended cut endings made me love the game even more. FFXIII-2 I liked FFXIII. It really wasn't the Final Fantasy I was expecting, but it doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it. Then came FFXIII-2 which "fixed" a lot of things that FFXIII "did wrong". I liked the time-hopping premise. I love the battle system. It's so satisfying figuring out the right strategy for a boss/arena battle, after having your ass handed to you. I liked the (availability) of alternate costumes. The arena battles were satisfying, capturing monsters, especially capturing Lightning in the Arena, was fun as well. I like the story too, especially Serah and Lightning's drama. (My single, most favorite part was when Lightning said "One thing at a time" when Serah asked if <insert SPOILER HERE!>. Just made me sad, in a good way). Does Witcher 2 count? I guess it should, since some of us only got it for the 360.
  9. My apologies for the spoilers earlier! Long post, but it's probably my last post on why I like the ending I like and why I think it's great.
  10. I actually joined the forums at freeforums. Twice. Under entirely different names. But I've never been active. I was looking for some community to post to so I went there once and it's empty and it says we moved here so I signed up again. I stopped reading Kotaku (regularly) a long time before joining here. Glad the old forum was still up with a link here.
  11. Because they couldn't accept the fact that starchild was telling the truth, or that starbrat, as he is called now (or maybe even months back), even exists. I think we're fine with the endings because we are willing to believe in the existence of starchild. It all boils down to that, I think.
  12. So I've watched all the other endings... And I was right, Control still appears to be my personal choice. For me, their ranking was:
  13. And why is that? Given how expensive these things are I would bet on the 3 since it would have more support in the future (by Apple, and longer by Apps). And probably future releases would sport the higher resolution screen so the 1024x768 screen would be a waste.
  14. Thanks! Hmmm. Maybe I'll do it and see. Kinda surprising though, with all the talk about generating stuff on the server side. It's very interesting.
  15. It's off topic but is offline diablo 3 even possible? Or are you implying that the best part is even if they don't work you have those things?
  16. What are these coming changes, if I may ask? I've not visited in a while, the latest change I was aware of was the site redesign and oh the kotaku TV sched thing.
  17. Oh.. and also a few of the little changes: Also looking forward to reading the Bioware forums! I can't stop posting!!!
  18. I'm about to rush the beam! HERE WE GO!!!

  20. Now I'm really excited to see mine! NO SPOILERS please or put it in tags but I really thought Control would be my Shep's thing. Let's see what's in store for me... Why do we have to work? I can't concentrate at work...
