I skewed the statistics by playing every class (doubling up with Soldier and Infiltrator)! That said, there certainly is a lot of 'BUT WHY WOULD ANYONE PLAY THE MOST BORING CLASS WHEN YOU CAN HAVE COOL POWERS!'. Having beaten the game a couple times, I gotta say...it's just way faster to shoot things. The number of people who didn't see Wrex makes me super sad.

My attachment to consoles is purely because I rent a lot of games, buy significantly less of them (generally stuff that has replay value or longevity to it) and because for some reason, I'm just not very good at sitting in front of my computer to play anything. That said, if even half the things rumored for the Durango are true, I would seriously wonder what Microsoft is smoking.

Beat Tomb Raider while I was home with strep throat last week. Eeeeeeh, it was alright. I didn't really feel attached to any of the characters (in fact, all of them came off as extremely one note and unremarkable), but the gameplay was solid.

So the doctor's response to my throat culture testing positive for strep throat in ten minutes in a test that normal takes thirty plus minutes was 'Goddamn son, we might need to test you to see if you're not some kind of living biological weapon from the future.'

Had the same reaction from a urine test once. See if I had a urine infection. Litmus-test-type-thing usually takes 5 mins and goes one of 5 colours if you have virii in there- mine went 4 colours in about ten seconds.

I can kind of see the logic behind blaming developers, even though the situation is typically not of their choosing (at least in the case of anyone who is forced to answer to shareholders, focus testing and what have you). But even then, I imagine if the protagonist role were split 50/50, there'd still be bitching.

I'm finding myself visiting Kotaku less and less (and thinking about reading Rock, Paper, Shotgun more). Getting kind of sick of the blatant clickbait posts Patricia is making, not to mention Totilo's flippant disregard for anything short of applause and praise for her. Kinda having the same issue with Evan Narcisse's articles too. Guys, I'm not against ladies and minorities in games, but fuck if I'm not sick of intentionally goading your audience with 'this game needs more minorities' or 'this presentation needs women or else it is totally sexist'. Browbeating and attempting to shame people isn't really going to win anyone real advocates to their cause.

I got the Geth Juggernaut from the Gift Pack they gave out for the Reckoning DLC. Ridiculous health and shields (in exchange for not being able to run or take cover) and a heavy melee that drains shields faster than enemies can do damage?

I think it'll die down soon enough. If they're not enamoured with the DLC, they should finally come to the realisation that the ending is stuck as it is. And as Dean says, as long as you're satisfied. Personally, I'm 'comfortable'.

I'm still sorta sad about that series personally. I never thought the game "sucked" I was just way too hyped for it, expected too much. I don't regret getting into the game...my best memories are from the first mass effect. Really got me back into reading/watching sci-fi.

The problem is that for the most part, her articles are generally written in a way that deliberately (to me, anyway) comes off as 'I'm here to make a big deal out of nothing or pick a fight with the opposite gender'. I imagine most rational people agree that there is definitely gender disparity in the gaming industry, but when you're doing articles like NO WOMEN AT THE PS4 PRESENTATION, THE INDUSTRY IS SEXIST, you're doing a major disservice to your cause.

I gotta applaud Kotaku because man, they must be raking in the cash with all the angry clicks Brida's articles get. On the other hand, I gotta wonder how the lady sleeps at night knowing that she's probably not really helping the case of equality in most cases.

Beat the game just now and...well, it wasn't bad, actually. I had a fair amount of fun playing it.

Whenever these kind of things come up, I always wonder 'What makes people think they'd get away with their antics?' and I never seem to get an answer.

I'm starting to feel like people who have a 'preference' for colorful, cartoony visuals are similar to people who have a 'preference' toward 2D games. (Read: Vocal and irritating.)

WaS: Yes, and I agree that it is likely a move mostly rooted in 'more sales', but the reactions still strike me as kind of overblown. I guess I can't really fault them for it.
VS: It reminds me of BulletStorm a little now, which I'm alright with.

At the end of the day though, I think its success or failure rides entirely on how good the game itself is 'cause let's face, if it's fun, the complainers will begrudgingly play it (if they're reasonable people anyway).

Think Bulletstorm meets Syndicate (FPS Multiplayer) and you're there, maybe throw in some Mass Effect 3 MP as well for good measure.
