  1. Woo! I'm NOT the only person who likes this game! It seems odd it's in my top 15 (and so high up), but I thought about it and I just love the game. Sure it has its flaws but I could enjoy myself in just driving around the city, listening to the radio. Or wandering around the back alleys and such. While, graphically-speaking, it's not that impressive there is something about driving over one of the bridges on a sunny day that is utterly wowing (yeah, that's a word). I think part of this fondness is because it was the first game I properly experienced with an HDTV. It was my first real taste of 'next-gen' and I loved it.
  2. Looking at it, there is a weird dip in the middle is all. I guess it is OK. Thanks for saying though. Hehe. Sorry, I'm a bad sport.
  3. Haven't had a photo taken in a long while. Here is one. Wasn't expecting to be out and about (hence, slightly odd hair), but couldn't turn down a chance to hang with my family on a lovely sunny bank holiday. (Yes, those are my other sunglasses and handbag and drink, obviously)
  4. It's co-developed by/'in conjunction with' Rockstar and they're clearly using a lot of the tech and design elements. It's just focus will not be on combat and driving/horsey-riding, but quite simplistic-looking detective work.
  5. Tried to give a range of titles from my gaming past and present. Some of them come from sheer time played as well as the good memories from doing so (Halo 2's co-op campaign memories just about lose out to Halo 3 MP memories). Decided to pick just one title from a given series to save on space; considering I didn't get all I wanted on there anyway. Tried to rank them but that it's almost impossible; just too mind-boggling a thing to do. 1. Halo 3 2. Rock Band 3 3. Burnout 2 4. GTA IV 5. TimeSplitters 2 6. Carmageddon 7. Final Fantasy VII 8. The Curse of Monkey Island 9. Tekken 3 10. Knights Of The Old Republic 11. Pokemon Silver (and Gold, obviously) 12. Sonic 3 13. Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit 14. Duke Nukem 3D 15. Unreal Tournament Honourable mentions to: TMNT II: The Arcade Game, Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers, Mass Effect games, Age of Empires II, The Sims, Theme Hospital, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Freedom Force, Vigilante 8 and Psychonauts.
  6. Will try and get mine sorted tonight or tomorrow. Trying to order them is the tricky part; don't think I'll ever be happy with that.
  7. Whole Mad Caddies set up on youtube Those guys need to make a new album already. The last two were fantastic (earlier ones were pretty cool too).
  8. Taken. Was good for what it was, really.
  9. Just finished The Big Sleep. It was very good indeed.
  10. It was a very 'Hollywood' ending in a way. Seems like there would be a bunch of problems too but I guess you could say that of any film if you scrutinise them. Plus, it is still a Hollywood film and it probably wouldn't have been made without certain changes (script was on the 'Black List' for years). Still, it was good.
  11. Saw Source Code. It was good, but the ending felt a little...stupid.
  12. I am rereading Catch-22. It's been a while. Remembering the style and everything now, I can't believe they actually made it into a film; but I've actually heard it wasn't too bad. I really need some new books, but I have no idea what to read.
  13. Hmm, I am still a little undecided on this game. The setting and everything look cool but the gameplay looks a bit simple and I don't even know if you can fail a case or just get a bad rating. Nothing really seems that 'connected' either; although I'm not even sure that's a valid complaint. And it may be a Team Bondi-developed game but you can see the Rockstar influence in pretty much everything. I can't believe they featured the melee combat in that trailer at least twice. That's, like, the worst aspect of Rockstar's sandbox games. TFG, I think there might be a bit of combat but it shouldn't feature too heavily in the main cases. Appears that there are going to be 'interruptions' you can respond to (like in RDR) while you're driving around. So, like, you could be driving around LA and during every journey some dude will ride up to you and ask for help because bandits are going to hang his wife from a tree. EVERY. JOURNEY.
  14. It originally meant something serious or threatening. But I guess its informal meaning is now more widely recognised.
  15. Occurred to me while a friend was talking about the new Game of Thrones series. Over here, 'dire' also has a more informal meaning for something that is dreadful or terrible. Not sure if that's the same in the US.
  16. Yeah, I guess it depends on whether you like the actors or not. I like Vince Vaughn but Jon Favreau I was skeptical about (considering he wrote it too). In the end, I warmed to it though. It's a nice little (predictable) tale.
  17. Sniped my post right in there to shift us onto a new page and confuse the subject. (That's so money)
  18. RIP, Rx Bandits. Your drummer was a nutcase. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8blFQb9Pb8k
  19. Hmm, that's interesting. I haven't read Year One in a long while and can't remember it being that complex or lengthy. Wonder if they're keeping Selina Kyle as a prostitute.
  20. Turns out Gordon-Levitt will not be playing Alberto Falcone, and I wasn't even aware Marion Cotillard was going to be in the film. Inception cast overload...now I won't be able to suspend my disbelief. http://collider.com/dark-knight-rises-marion-cotillard-joseph-gordon-levitt-roles/86714/
  21. This should be in Event Planning, really. Ethan, you're a shit mod.
