  1. Because Origin is going to make EA tons of money the best way to play Battlefield!
  2. This. EA may think that BF3 is a "must-buy" game and it will push people to put up with this stuff but speaking only for myself I can say that this is not the case. I'm planning on settling in with MW3 for a while and probably picking this thing up when it's cheap and has the balance issues resolved.
  3. So the sniper scope flash is only active when you're looking down your scope? That's good to know. Also, the key word here is balance. I'm sure it's some growing pains of a game that's still unreleased. Oh, and I forgot to mention. I went back and played the Xbox version with my Razer Onza TE and cranked the thumbsticks down so they're very stiff and the game was more enjoyable. If you're really into this game you may want to consider using a similar controller. It helps make the controls feel more tight.
  4. TN, please, please, we all beg of you, convince the people over there to drop this origin browser stuff and please get us a proper menu system without having to be in-game.
  5. I haven't really noticed people with lasers sights being more easily visible. Maybe on large conquest maps that's the case but on the linear metro map that doesn't seem to be the case.
  6. I've got a feeling that game would offend people. "your shape is.... bowling ball".
  7. The laser thing is done so poorly. Maybe if and only if it flashed you extremely briefly when their cursor was actually over your head it'd be acceptable but it seems like if they even look in your general direction you're blind for 30 seconds and the game I played seemed like everyone on the other team had laser sights for this reason. I suppose this will be balanced though. Yeah, the muzzle flash from LMGs is a bit overstated as well. I know why they do it but it seems like a bit much. There's a lot of balancing issues overall I think and I guess those will get sorted out eventually. I can't help but think that these laser blinding and stuff will be things that hackers will be able to remove though.
  8. Well in COD you can get points for objectives like captures or bomb plants but you're right about BF3 just throwing XP your way. Still, that doesn't make it any more fun when you're dying everywhere and don't have anything but a crappy gun with iron sights.
  9. Okay, played the PC version for a short bit. I gotta say the lag is way worse on the PC version. I also gotta say that this business with the laser sights is pretty retarded. Anytime someone with a lasers sight so much as glances in my direction I'm blind? That's real fair. Also, for all the people who've complained about the XP system in COD giving experienced players an advantage, BF3 is complete BS to newcomers. You're given sticks to fight guys with RPGs and laser scopes and everything else. Screw that crap. Hope you get in day one because if you're a late comer to this game it freaking sucks.
  10. You can't repel games of that magnitude!
  11. I would be all over this game if I didn't have a sever backlog already. I've still not beaten Deus Ex.
  12. Witcher 2 is $24 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Witcher-Assassins-Kings-Digital-Premium/dp/B0051BH6FK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317321528&sr=8-1 I don't think amazon lets you download more than once though so you may want to back that sucker up somehow.
  13. Thanks for the tip! Also, settings only in game is unbelievably stupid. What are my unlocks? What are my customization options? Here let my team lose while I fiddle with it! For as good of a game as this is DICE have done some amazingly stupid things. I'm blaming the EA corporate machine for it.
  14. Yes, I need Doritos anyway. I'm going to stock up for the MLB Postseason.
  15. Also: Daikatana HeXen Quake 64 SimCity 2000 Worms Armageddon http://s9.zetaboards.com/Nintendo_64_Forever/topic/7181038/1/
  16. Rainbow Six also got a PSX port and it was amazing in how bad it was.
  17. That article is garbage. XP won't buy you wins or an unfair advantage.
  18. Conquest mode is what I'd like to try but I'm on the Xbox beta. Played it a bit more last night. I enjoyed it. I still feel like the controls aren't tight enough and it's hard to tell where you're getting shot from sometimes. It's a fun game but not really making me want to abandon COD though.
  19. Well, I kept getting kicked out and not being able to find a game but I guess that's typical of day 1 beta. Also, I found the controls to be a bit floaty. They didn't feel tight or precise. That may just be a knee jerk reaction.
  20. BF3 PC vs. PS3

That was amusing, but went on too long.

Heh, that video was made by one guy from certain Russian anonymous imageboard that I visit. The initial description was "Sonywhores suck dick"(in Russian, of course).

  21. I can't find my original so I made a new one. So I went at this with the mindset of what games I played the most or impacted me the most, not necessarily my favorite games. 1. Quest for Glory 1: So this game had character classes, individual skill trees, puzzles with multiple solutions depending upon your class, multiple endings and your skills ranked depending on your actions. Oh, and this game came out back in 1989. 2. Street Fighter 2: If you weren't around back when this game hit arcades you don't realize what an impact this game truly had but pretty much every quarter you had as a child went into this thing so much so that my brother and I considered spending $83 on the SNES cart a deal because of all the quarters we were going to save ourselves. 3. Final Fantasy VI (III): This game opened my eyes to what storytelling in a videogame could be. It also had me hooked on JRPGs for the next decade. 4. Final Fantasy VII: The game that created emo. I wont rehash all the arguments for this one. I will say that my mother told my brother and I "you know there's other things to do" to which we replied "not until we finish this game!". 5. Zelda: OOT: Also not going to rehash the arguments for this one I just freaking loved this game. 6. Metal Gear Solid: Alongside FFVII, this is one of the most sentimental games to me. Those two games exposed a darker tone than anything I was familiar with and the sort of solitary sadness of the game just sucked me in. It was also the most cinematic experience ever. My mother had been overhearing the dialogue was even pulled into the story a bit which I found funny. 7. Half-Life: Not too much to say other than this game broke the walls to prove that an FPS can tell a story. Also the firefights in this game were freaking amazing. 8. Supreme Commander: This game is everything an RTS should be. Focus is on strategy and not micromanagement and I love it. Shame it wasn't supported better as there are still some lingering balance issues and bugs. My friends and I still play this against each other. 9. COD4: Modern Warfare: I've spent over 13 days of online time playing this thing fully maxing out my level after Prestiging 10 times so I felt I had to include this one.
