no, they wont announce the actual redesign until they've sold a bunch of the nub add-ons. It's just like Wii Motion plus. Sell the add ons first then come out with the built in solution later.

I suppose it's no longer true but digital goods are seen as more temporary than physical media. I suppose this doesn't matter now that physical media comes steamlocked already. I suppose they're both equally devalued now. It still brings to mind the worry in any gamers mind that in 15 years I won't be able to play my games anymore. I know there are assurances that this is not the case but there's still lingering doubt there. I suppose the fact that EA can never make up their mind on what on earth their online strategy is doesn't help us trust them any more.

I was coming off the FFVII days so I was really confused as to why there was almost no story. The show came out a little before the game in America if I recall correctly so if you started watching the cartoon first you'd be confused why Pikachu is not a big deal in the Red/Blue version. Consequently that's the whole reason they made the Yellow version.

Metal Gear for me too. I don't know what it is about those games that I love so much. I will say I was a little let down by the story of MGS4 but I still loved the actual game. I will say that Assassin's Creed is quickly getting there for my current series addiction.

My wife has been on an IV and can't watch the child so I've been relegated to mostly my DS. I'm slowly working through Deus Ex when I have the time but I started Advance Wars: Days of Ruin in the meantime and I have to say that it's a surprisingly great game. They've tweaked a lot of what the old advance wars did and made the AI very fun to play against and the story is pretty good and more mature. If you have a DS and haven't played it you should check it out. It's pretty cheap on Amazon.

Pokemon Yellow wasn't released in the US until 1999 and 2000 in the EU. I got Pokemon Red when it was released so I was 15 at the time. My other friends and I traded and did all the pokemon stuff until I realized that Pokemon was huge with the elementary school kids and that killed a bit of my interest in it. There were plenty of people, including a girl who is now my wife, who made fun of me for playing it.
