Well, it would still be a shift in the post GC Nintendo mantra. Nintendo has been targeting the casual market and has been very successful. To go back to the core market would be a shift in policy. I'm not against it but the problem with going back is that they're going to have to compete on all fronts methinks. Will the new Wii have the complete multimedia services of other consoles? Will it have a robust online system? Will it have competitive graphics with the next generation of systems? Will it cost $600? All of these things are generally something Nintendo has avoided over the last 5-10 years.

The whole discussion of skipping levels seems to indicate a design flaw. Clearly when they were play testing there were people who couldn't solve the cases and the game design didn't allow for failure so they give you the option to skip. Sounds like a design flaw to me.

Yeah, maybe at E3 we'll see some new Kinect games. I just find it strange that there's not even a trickle of new games.

See this is all news to me. I made the assumption it's going to be GTA/RDR in LA because it's been branded as a Rockstar game. I guess the total lack of gameplay hasn't helped at all. So it's not a sandbox game?
-
I don't know where FDS heard that, but remember, this is primarily being developed by Team Bondi, not Rockstar, so we can't expect many elements from GTAIV or RDR to translate into this title. Who's Team Bondi? What have they ever done?
-
So, it's been out for a while now and I'm not seeing any new games coming out for it or it being talked about. I know MS touted how well it was selling but is it still selling? Is it burning out super quick?

Who said the gunplay sucks? What would lead you to think it's any better or worse than GTA IV or RDR?
-
Yeah, Nintendo makes their money off innovation and not expensive tech. I would be surprised to see them deviate from this model.

I'd really go for a quad core. We're starting to see games that really need 4 cores and I think that's going to continue in the next few years. I'd also pick up an aftermarket cooler. After running over 70C at idle I've learned my lesson about stock coolers.

If Nintendo has had huge success with low cost consoles why would they abandon that now?
-
Easy portability would mean that it's easy to port games from PC or Xbox to the new console.
-
Wouldn't playing Mario Kart on smaller lower fidelity screens be less fun than just playing it together split screen? Other than for competitive FPS games (which Nintendo doesn't make) what's the advantage of everyone gaming on a small screen?
-
If Nintendo really was going to do something like this then why would they do it in conjunction with the 3DS? It seems like they'd have either created one or the other but not a portable game system and a video streaming portable system. I'm leaning toward calling this one false.

Yeah, for PS3 you can just pick up any bluetooth headset that you'd normally use for a cell phone and it'll work fine. I really like that Sony did that.
-
I am kind of stuck to USB since the 3.5mm jacks on my case were crap and don't work. I'm also looking to get away from Creative because their customer service is crap. I think they've made some great products but I don't know that I'd get another one from them. A detachable mic would be nice.

Didn't we try the whole screen in the controller thing with the Dreamcast VMU? Didn't we establish that there's not really a good use for it?
-
I bet they delayed the HD collection to coincide with the game. It's all about marketing. Build up the hype.

At the same time, whenever I want to have a good duel there is nobody to be found. I wish those quests were more user triggered rather than random. The bounty quests are done better because you can do one whenever you want but you don't constantly get the failed mission messages. "The thief got away. P.S. you suck"

I need a quality gaming headset for my PC. What do you guys use and which one is best? Right now I'm considering this one: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Headset/dp/B001O5CCQK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303499918&sr=8-1 I don't really want a wireless one because I don't have the desire to charge it all the time.

I feel slightly validated today. Even Bethesda agrees with me. “There were definitely moments in Oblivion were it was a rollercoaster of pain because the world levelled faster than you.”" http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/18/skyrim-skills/

I'd kind of like to try Killzone 3 with move. Seems like the shooting would be more fun. Also, charging $40 for the plastic gun add on is lame.
-
but those prices are all in crazy British currency... I got charged like 30 cents when I bought the complete Empire+Napoleon Total War pack from the euro version of D2D.

I thought that the ending was pretty much perfect. I was very curious to figure out where they were going with it. Probably they spent slightly too long with the farm but it seemed like a good build up to what many saw as the inevitable end. Also, dean, the game ends after you've finished the stranger mission in blackwater.

RDR's ending was the perfect western ending. I just beat Borderlands. Now there's an ending that sucked. All this buildup and Crap on that garbage.
