Was it good? Also, I just finished AC:B. I think it was mostly a waste of time and didn't really further the story much. I still really like AC but this game was more of a cash in than an addition to the series. I'm starting in on Alpha Protocol now. So far I like it.

I was also let down by grown ups and my standards for it were very low. I despise movies where they just throw in a ton of stars and spend about 5 minutes writing the script.

My order for MLB 11 got canceled by Modells. All the CAGS are whining and calling the BBB and twitting the CS reps. Can't believe they're that upset that they weren't able to cheat a company out of a game for clearly less than cost.

GO SPORTS GAMES! I am loving the soundtrack to this game.

I'm probably one of the only people who was let down by Chrono Trigger probably because I loved FFVI so much. After waiting forever for the games release I thought the game was too short. Still, it was a fantastic game.

Games you like that everyone else seems to hate

I liked Too Human okay but it was a flawed game. I still took the time to beat it. -
I'd like to say that don't try to hedge your bets against anything farther than two years in the future. Power supply connections are always changing. CPU sockets are always changing and even the graphics bus can change. Really it's good to be ready for an upgrade but I bought a Core i7 two years ago and an SLI power supply 500w and now I still can't do SLI and my socket has already been discontinued. Really I'd say just purchase what is a good bang for your buck now and at most budget a little extra for a graphics update in the future.

Oh crap, I forgot about the NGP recently although I don't know how. The wife talked me out of getting a smartphone but I think I'm going to make her get me one of these as a tradeoff She wants another kid so I'm gonna use that as leverage to get me a sweet new NGP.

Games that you hate that everyone else seems to like

The first ones graphics were so bad that I could never play them for more than 5 minutes but I just bought IX on a whim and I'm actually quite enjoying it. It's got an original story so far and it's actually got a fantastic soundtrack. -
Dang, a discussion on religion and I missed it.

Most everyone I know liked Mirror's Edge. I'm surprised that a lot of reviewers didn't "get it". I will say that I got it for $20 and it was worth all of that but perhaps it was a quite short for a $60 game. Still, I beat it least 3 times which is something I haven't done with any other game in recent history.

Well I'm totally loaded up on strategy for a long time now. I still haven't played AOE3 since I got it for $1 and now I just bought: The Empire and Napoleon total pack is only $9.65 (£6) right now so I couldn't say no to that. Amazing deal. http://dealnews.com/Empire-and-Napoleon-Total-War-Game-of-the-Year-Edition-for-PC-for-10/439585.html

I don't think I've gotten headaches since we've moved away from CRT though. I wonder if it had to do with the flicker from those sets.
-
I know that when I used to game on a CRT for long periods of time (over 5 or 6 hours) I'd get really bad migraines. I don't know if that's common to everyone or just me but I specifically remember it happening when I rented Goldeneye and played it non-stop for about 8 hours and was sick to my stomach with a headache for the rest of the night.
-
That's why I never got Empire total war.
-
I played the demo for a while last night and really enjoyed it. I've never played the Total War series so it's all a bit foreign to me but I thought it was a ton of fun. Personally I like all the bright colors. I think it gives it an artistic look.
-
Beat Medal of Honor last night. I quite enjoyed it. My first multiplayer experience was awful but the single player was fun. I also beat Metro 2033 last night.

Always assume that partial nudity = man butt until told otherwise.

I got that too.

I think I'm all set for Crysis 2. At 1680x1050 Very High everything, 4xAA and 16xAF the new 6950 never drops below 30fps and usually hovers around 40fps.
-
Okay, so the 6950 basically runs everything at 2X the framerate as before. This makes me happy.

Because EA are evil jerks.

This is what I'm talking about, I encounter a dude for the first time, I use a certain weapon, and it turns out he is invulnerable to it, but it also turns out he has this super attack that can almost kill my character. Which is why I normally stick to shooters and other types of games. Yeah, so you inevitably have to restart the boss fight a couple of times until you memorize the bosses attack pattern and use trial and error to figure out his random weaknesses because scan sure isn't gonna tell you. "Difficult" JRPG really means "we want you to buy the guide".
