  1. Eh... Well... I'm assuming this is going to be a real television series? Interesting, but a lot is holding it back. That even something like batteries don't work, but files on a self-powered USB drive can restore "technology" to the world. Yeah, a world that became a jungle pretty freaking fast too.
  2. I just mean that now that we've seen how they played, it befuddles how the team even had fans. Sure they could still be in the tournament, they saw through to that with their "unique" method, but I guess it's like what you-know-who said for once.
  3. What are some popular TV shows you never got into, for one reason or another? Personally, 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother. HIMYM I would probably actually like, that is, if I could bother to watch any more episodes.

      In conclusion, watch Raising Hope.

Most shows... in my circle of friends I guess The Wire. Also stall partway through a lot of anime... over 9000 years ago I started watching Ranma 1/2 and Slayers, but never made it through all the seasons.

Boardwalk Empire never clicked with me.

Also I've tried really hard to watch Tom Baker era Doctor Who but I just can't!

  4. I'm surprised anyone could be fans of the Wolfbats now. What defense could you have for a team like that? Fire Ferret Fan: That was a really cheap move the Wolfbats used, putting chucks of earth into water strikes. Wolfbat Fan: You're just jealous of their cool entrance!
  5. Galaga is actually pretty well known, even if someone can't quite recall the game's name. Heck, even my father knows what Galaga is, and there are "versions" of Galaga you can play on your computer. I use to play Pac-Man, Galaga, and a few other arcade titles during middle school and high school in the computer lab when it was suppose to be "research" for a paper. It's one of those silly jokes where you'll chuckle if you can relate, either from you personally goofing off at work or knowing others do it when they think no one can see. Stark addresses everyone, specifically Galaga dude since he must obviously have the time to listen (you know, he's goofing off) Big dialogue goes on All the character name people leave and the crew gets back to work Galaga dude goes back to Galaga It's that simple and it got chuckles all around the theater I was in. I even smiled at it.
  6. I saw the Avengers. It's great and I know I'll get it on Blu-ray. I have only one friend who thought it was terrible, but I think he hasn't quite grasp that Marvel movies have both serious and humorous direction. If Hulk did something funny, it doesn't cheapen the character, it makes him deeper than a one-dimensional anger management character. I could go on, but it seems we all know it was good for what it was aiming to be. I did see some editing errors, like a scene where Tony Stark didn't have lights glowing through his shirt. Still, it was great and the only thing I would personally complain about is Hawkeye. That's because I don't care for the character, no matter how "cool" they try to make him. Though I do agree with how they make him... Favorite parts: Everything with Tony Stark "Puny god" And Dean, that bit with the guy...
  7. In the end, the point of the scene was to reveal that bit of history, especially when the circumstances are fresh in our minds from the last episode, but it reminds me of when we were introduced to Lin. "Beifong? You're Toph's daughter!" To me, that was completely for the viewer's benefit rather than a revelation to Korra. Korra being correct with her assumption is the same, and like what you said W&S. It crossed my mind, but with Lin being the Police Chief and Tenzin being a political representative, there could have been many other "grudges" Lin had. EDIT: I don't mean to fixate on this, but it with how fast it went it was kinda an odd bit. "Oh I know.../What how did you?!"
  8. It's like in Seinfeld when Elaine is explaining to Jerry how women are artful, beautiful figures, but men are like hairy apes. At least something along those lines because for the life of me I can't remember the rest of the episode.
  9. It's not unbelievable, just felt like Korra connected two very far apart dots given the lack information. Of course, it is natural to go off a hunch and there's no sense in making Korra look foolish over the matter.
  10. If any of you guys miss the new episodes in the morning and don't feel like waiting until Sunday for Nick's online episode, I've found a user on Justin.tv that records Saturday morning cartoons. They don't look exactly pretty when in full screen, but he/she is recording about 5 hours of video in 2.5 hour parts. I don't know when the person takes it down either, but you'll at least have it for Saturday when it comes to Legend of Korra. "Live Cartoons" Anyway, about this episode. It was still great, but this might be my least favorite given that... Tracking back to the beginning with Lin... Ending was quite fantastic though, what with all the advanced metalbending. Quite a few times I was singing "Spider-man, Spider-man... does whatever a spider..." Oh, and Pabu. You know what I'm talking about! PABU!
  11. Didn't think this deserved its own thread, but given how this relates to PS+ members having cloud storage for save data, I'd post a link to an up-to-date (as of March 18th) list of locked save files as well as other saves that don't fully transfer data. PS3 Trophies's Official Locked Saved Games Interesting to note, you'll have games locked to your PSN ID, but you can easily remedy that by creating a User Profile on another PS3 and logging in to PSN.
  12. The casual audience will still be fine with their Wii console. The reason why the PS2 still sold well even with the introduction of a PS3 was that it was both cheap and filled with a library of games, both excellent and family-friendly. I can only imagine being a sales associate and trying to push a $400-$600 console compared to its predecessor which was $100-$120. Now the PS3 is immensely cheaper and you're bound to find consumers looking at (if not buying) the console. The same will happen this time with the Wii and Wii U. I can only see the Wii U being the hot holiday item for either a family of Nintendo fans with the income or habitual first adopters.
  13. Thinking back to the N64, I miss ol' multiplayer. The days where you could bring your cartridge over to a friend's house and plug it into his console with no fuss. Now with PS+, I see I have a "feature" to transfer save data to a friend's console if it's online.

I pretty much only like coop, I don't like competitive multiplayer.

      Strangelove

You know how 20 years ago fathers tried to "man up" their kids by making them take up sports?

I wonder if competitive multiplayer is going to be the "manning up" of our generation. It sounds ridiculous, but I feel that society gets softer every year. The line between masculinity and femininity has become very blurred. Which Im actually a fan of.

The difference with online MP I see is there's no trick too cheap, no act too unsporting, no glitch too unfair to use. Car race? Crash 'em off the road. Fighter? Loop 'em for the whole match. FPS? Javelin glitch, skywalk, etc. If people played football(soccer) like an online game, they'd be kicking each other in the junk every time the ref looked away, bringing their own ball, pepper spraying, holding the goalie down while another guy kicks a goal 20 times a minute, etc.

  14. A "trick?" That would mean the technology was absent, like those cheap PSP and DS knock-offs with false advertising on the packaging of either what the graphics will look like or actual device specifications. No, we all had an idea of what should be motion controls, but the real games didn't have proper control mechanics most of the time. Same could be said for most upcoming technology, that most developers are at first attempting the technology rather than applying it. To this day, Nintendo was mainly the developer that got it right, with a few exceptions from others. With how the industry is adopting variants of motion controls, I think there is a place in the future for motion controls to apply to games, like rumble became. Rumble use to be a battery-powered attachment on the underside of the N64 controller, but now we don't have "rumble paks" (ending with the DS Lite) because every controller onward came with rumble built-in. It's not that I'm not sold on the Wii U, I just wouldn't be able to make a next-gen leap this year. As TCP said, the PS3 is going on strong. There are even upcoming games I want to play that are now sliding into the 2013 mark. I don't think I could justify to myself about getting another console, just like getting a 360 now. I've had two chances where I could have bought a 360, but there were also other games. Getting another console and its games or stay with my current consoles and buy more games? I chose to buy more games. Such is the price to pay when you own more than one console. If I were solely a Wii owner... oh, I think my only option would be to get a Wii U. Now I don't see how you can go wrong with a tablet controller, but that's just it, it's a tablet and a Wii U will only be worth owning if games make use of it. The Rayman Legends concept trailer was interesting to say the least, but that's only one concept game.
  15. It could motivate gaming companies to produce more/higher quality titles. If hardware sales are not giving you enough, then you have to leverage it with software and aftermarket products. The thing is, this is true for any generation. What gets most people to buy a new console is a gimmick. Not just a single thing, but a variety of features that either improve or innovate on a prior attribute (like graphics). So far, only Nintendo has a console that would break itself apart from the Wii, but at the same time not alienate Wii users due to the new console relying on Wii Remotes. I can't forecast its success though, and personally, unless a family member is going to give me a Wii U for Christmas, then I'm not going to be getting one right away.
  16. On a roll today? You mean to say your day has been filled with sexy ladies?!
  17. A single incident from '65 being brought up now where the story has two different tellings between the Washington Post and ABC News. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/05/romney-friend-stu-white-says-campaign-wants-him-to-counter-prank-accusations/ He said, she said. Some say he was malicious in school, others saying clownish. Believing that one never changes but merely hides their true self, so in politics we have to dig for the dirt that will reveal the golden truth of a candidate. Cause, you know, Obama ate dog, but Romney beats his dog too! It's confirmed, 2012 is "for the dogs."
  18. Remember that Party with Pinkie song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gfniCDbbzg VIP mix, with a certain song added.
  19. Chances are that "red coats" are the primary antagonists whereas the colonials you have to take out are plot driven targets. Not to mention it makes for better promotional material to have Connor, an expert survivalist in the wilderness, track down a British soldier scrambling through snowy woods. Oh, and eaten by bears.
  20. Supposedly you can wait until night and the battle gets a little more difficult. I couldn't hold off that long and killed the griffon at sunset. Anyway, launch trailer. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-trailer-dragons-dogma/729985 EDIT: As for my takedown of the griffon, the first time it destroyed me. The second time I played the quest, the poor thing was assaulted with fire multiple times within about 20 seconds. Took around two minutes since it didn't land right away, but it never made it back up into the air.
  21. Pretty frickin' epic dragon battle, I tell ya.
