  1. True, and it goes along with what I said before about gold and silver. Sure, someone won't be able to bend them, but are you really going to make weapons out of those metals? I also began thinking of how expensive platinum weapons would be, but then again, it's not like other works of fiction don't have heroes/villains running around with valuable metal weapons. Maybe they could have came up with a fake metal (unbendium, lol), but the goofiness would have stuck regardless.
  2. Wow, 'The Aftermath' is the episode where I think we'll be able to look back and go, "Yep, that's when LoK kicked it into high gear" much like 'The Storm' did for TLA. Seems I was only partially correct... Going back a few pages, we have our answer to metalbending's limitations. It's true that properties of the metal determine its bending capabilities. We know now that platinum is a non-bendable metal due to its high purity. Sure, there's probably some earth in it, but it's too small and far apart to actually bend. There's a part of me that wishes I didn't watch so many television programs in my lifetime because truthfully I wasn't as surprised as I should have with some of the "surprises." What I'm saying is that while it's nice to think ahead, you're also spoiling yourself with known possible outcomes. For example... Also, Jinora is going to have a field day with the new house guests. EDIT: Wait, forgot my theory!
  3. Before we're exposed to the next episode tomorrow, let us remember the true heroes of Republic City... And I don't know who made this, but I definitely got that Korra-Chell vibe given her outfit and figure.
  4. Applied the Hori screen protector to my 3DS. Thing is a sexy beast, but then again, after trying out a few different screen protectors, I have to agree Hori's is the only good one. I didn't feel like blowing $25 for a pair from Zagg either.

      「Advent Chaos」

Heyyy I also bought some Hori 3DS screen protectors! Although I'm pretty terrible at this so I got a few bubbles on my touch screen. Save that cleaning cloth, it's MAGICAL.

  5. I liked The Proposal, even saw it twice with my sister. Once with her, and then a second time with our mother. Now even if Sandra Bullock is (currently) twice my age, having her naked wasn't a negative either. EDIT: So yeah, I happen to like the occasional chick flick. Strange now that I think about it, today I was wondering how many other dudes own "Music and Lyrics."
  6. I definitely want to see Dark Shadows, and I know what to expect since my father kept going on about how it's based on a soap opera from the 60's to early 70's. I think he was more so surprised about how that's a thing now becoming a movie.
  7. A part of me wants to keep the pawns' subtitles on because they might actually say something useful, but then the rest of me can not stand how much space those dialogue boxes take up.
  8. Toonami is back, May 26th on Adult Swim. Basically Adult Swim is revamping their Saturday anime programming, but still, it's TOONAMI!

what's up with toonami? can't you get your anime anywhere else? I looked up the 2012 lineup, and they're all anime.

the last time i watched it they had johnny quest in it. :|

Toonami went through many phases as far as programming. I can tell you now the primary reason for the excitement is nostalgia. Yes, anime is more readily available than it was nearly 15 years ago, but Toonami was the after-school/late night block that introduced anime to a majority of 90's kids.

  9. I don't have a problem with online passes either, but the rest I agree with along with Ethan's remark about knowing exactly "how much" content really could have been cut from a game. Now, I guess I could bring up that Nintendo technically does have content "updates," especially since today I received an email from Nintendo explaining about the new multiplayer fix for Mario Kart 7, but those are far and in-between to where it would be a stretch to say it's a common practice.
  10. Lin actually becomes a developed character in the latest episode, everything else was a passing scene that didn't add much other than "Toph's daughter" and "hardass Police Chief." So yeah, don't count her out just yet, especially with how she metalbends.
  11. Today I was wondering if GanXingba (Avatar Abridged) was going to do something with Legend of Korra. And I guess the production team for Legend of Korra has seen it and loves it.
  12. Korra hasn't developed what you would call a "peacekeeper" mentality like Aang. It's a different feel, especially since we're dealing with urban revolution warfare now compared to a nomad superman global chase with the benefit of Avatar justice.
  13. It appears that Extra Credits' meeting with MS went well. Like, after being contacted by thousands of people, MS took the whole "make Live a better place" seriously, even some ideas and an algorithm for EC's auto-mute idea.

I'm really interested in seeing/hearing the details on this, but I get the feeling they're not going to say anything for a while.

Source? I'd love to read more about this.

It's on their Facebook page. They're on NDA, so don't expect massive detail, but today James said BBC contacted them about their meeting with MS.

  14. Current CGI shows, yeah... Shows like ReBoot and Beast Wars though have a nostalgic corner in my heart. Of course, I think that's because early CGI shows took advantage of the upcoming technology, whereas current shows just try to make things more "stylized" with the added dimension.
  15. Before Legend of Korra debuted, there was a surge in Korra x Yue fanfic. I think the basis of it was that because she was from the Water Tribe, she had a "special" connection with the Moon.
  16. You know, once you actually get into Friendship is Magic, the Brony "phenomenon" doesn't seem that mind-blowing of a reality. It's a high quality animated television show that doesn't talk down to the viewer and has a positive outlook on many troubles a person would face in pursuing friendship. I mean, when you hear a song from FiM, it's an actually song and not a glorified nursery rhyme. What holds people back is that everything before FiM has only been appealing to little girls. A lot of bronies can not stand previous My Little Pony material, and for good reason. I could rant more, but I'm sorta preaching to the choir here.
  17. Double Post, but only because of celebrity brony material.
  18. This. Early on it seemed like the goal was to maintain that video games "are still fun, please play more" because either kids were told to grow out of it or that it was nerdy. Now that video games are a well recognized and popular form of entertainment, the goal is "play this, it's exactly what you want now."
  19. LMAO X 100! (Seriously, couldn't stop laughing for a good five minutes.) Though, if you think about it...
  20. Thought I'd share a lil' hometown local news. Well, it went national (and across the pond), but I still have to share. http://tinyurl.com/822coy5 What friends have told me is that the guy was there getting mulch for his medical marijuana.

FYI, article got something wrong: the Lewiston store has been closed for years, but a new Walmart was built in Clarkston. That's where it happened, and when you're a part of a small community, this tends to be a hot topic.

  21. Just remember: Lie down before I lay the smackdown!
  22. What kenshi said. As frantic as your character might look when sprinting, I think there are more than enough monsters in the game to justify an "oh shi-" animation to the character.
  23. The Kickstarter project page for that documentary John de Lancie is doing now.
  24. Oh lordy, that project from freddiew. Just, he does amazing effects, but there's only so high you can go until you realize, "Maybe I shouldn't do that..." Still, the fans will eat it up.
  25. Actually, Newsweek began the "cover scandal" trend with the "Working Women Fantasy" cover of a naked woman blindfolded. Me thinks there's a secret wager between Newsweek and Time to see who can get the most crap out of their magazine cover image.
