Things gamers do/say that piss you off
CorgiShinobi replied to RockyRan's topic in General Gaming Chat
Durf, your console sucks because it only sold, like, that many million! It takes this many million, like the console I kiss goodnight each night, to be a real financial success! I should know, I've got charts. B) -
Is it just me, or does the term "online rights" come off as superfluous? Like, "I've got my rights, and then I've got my online rights! Stick it to the man, online!" EDIT: Adds question mark and heads off to bed...

Eff, I just got through that forest after the second gym battle. I (idiotically) forgot to bring along Super Potions and a few Ethers. I won the second gym battle with six lvl 17 Pokemon, none fainted, but it took a while. I'm going to want to head back to the forest, to finish off the Trainers I left behind. The bridge was huge, but all that was going through my mind was, "No more Trainers... NO MORE TRAINERS!" Team so far... Dewott lvl 19 Pansear lvl 18 Pidove lvl 20 Roggenrolla lvl 18 Audino lvl 18 Blitzle lvl 19 I was about to give up on Blitzle because of the terrible Defense stat, but after finishing the Trainer battle during that thought, the lil' Electric-type learned a Fire-type move! Really, one part of me is annoyed at how so many Pokemon early on learn powerful moves. Another part of me begins scoffing at the "type advantage" when Pokemon like Timburr know Rock Throw and Blitzle know Fire Charge.

Heck yeah those are some good fixes! Really, there were times I felt like it took two shots to kill me.
-
Wait, is there something special about the PS3 version of Portal 2? Isn't there suppose to be cross-platform co-op, or something for all versions of Portal 2?
-
Is Audino actually rare? According to Bulbapedia, Audino can appear anywhere in grass, but only when you see a shaking patch. Reason I bring this is because I've ran into, like, three (including my own)!

I'm assuming you have a modem with no wireless? I'm still having some trouble understanding how the C-Gear works No, I have a wireless router, but my security is WPA2. I still have a DS Lite and that variant of the Nintendo DS, along with the original (Phat), is limited to WEP. EDIT: I still have my old Linksys Wireless-G router, so I guess I could do what you're doing Dean. However, I can't remember the settings for it. Part of the reason why I went ahead with a Linksys Wirless-N E2000 is because a friend screwed with the settings. She needed to use our Internet, but I wasn't around. My roommates are not that savvy when it comes to Networking. She enters the PIN number, with the help of my roommates, and basically overtook the network and screwed everyone over until I came home.

YES! It bothers me to no end when someone feels like they have to entertain us with their "latest hit." Sometimes it feels like I'm playing online with the dude who plays guitar on campus, whether to attract women or to share his talent. -
Games you like that everyone else seems to hate
CorgiShinobi replied to Mister Jack's topic in General Gaming Chat
WHAT?! Now I know three people who have a distaste for Prime. I still haven't finished Other M. I wouldn't say Other M is truly "classic" Metroid as the gameplay changes how you interact with enemies, and the design of your upgrades/expansions is different. I don't hate it, and I tend to take issue when people go off on Samus's character. Just, it never motivated me to really continue and complete the entire thing. I'm close, but I stopped. The characterization and story was poorly executed, but Samus wasn't destroyed. Probably the reason for so much hatred is because, with Samus being a silent protagonist for so long, people began supplementing their own ideas on Samus's character. Usually, I point people in the direction of the official Metroid manga that explains Samus's origin. I still keep a GIF I made showing people probably the more tragic moment in the story. (It's animated) -
Games that you hate that everyone else seems to like
CorgiShinobi replied to Yantelope's topic in General Gaming Chat
Just yesterday I was thinking about how much I love that game after watching Extra Credits rip on Other M. Coincidentally, I began thinking about how I only knew one person who disliked it. For him, the extra dimension didn't transition well. Now I can say two! -
UGHABALAHAR! Have you guys (with DS Lites) found a way to connect online without resorting to WEP key? I thought ot myself, "Crap, I know I'll have a 3DS come June, but right now I can't connect online!" So I thought that those Wi-Fi connectors Nintendo had years ago might do the trick. Go online, get some used one for cheap, and be satisfied for a few months. Oh, well, except people are selling them for a high price. Oh, and the blasted thing doesn't work with Windows 7! Man... I feel like I can't enjoy the whole game because the C-Gear will never work (for now).

I agree with the "casual" and "hardcore" distaste/disgust. Those "groups" have always existed, it's just that someone at some point a few years ago started defending himself as "hardcore" and that people who play "casually" don't blah blah BLAH! -
Don't believe in your Pokemon! Believe in your Pokemon that believe in yourself!! I was thinking more like "Don't believe in yourself! Believe in your Pokemon that believe in yourself!" He's got to learn "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM... PUNCH!"

Rather than bothering to change my wireless router to WEP, I temporarily borrowed an [apartment] neighbor's wireless. I know the dudes, and ever since August they have had a terrible open connection. It's the only one in the whole complex that willingly runs on WEP key. Like I said, terrible signal range. I ended up having to stand outside the front door and pointing my DS Lite at the window of the room with the router. Finally, after five tries, it saved the cartridge-system link stuff, and I got to receive my Liberty Pass! Victini, you better not suck PokeBalls!

When gamers mix their cartridges and discs with their respective cases. "Hey buddy, ol' pal of mine... would you be bothered if I borrow this game? You don't mind? Cool! Say, where would it happen to be... It's not in the case, and I've checked that game's case. What? It's somewhere in that pile of junk?" *five minutes* "It wasn't there, and there was something sticky/smelly I touched!" -
Alright, I've got one Christmas gift... wait, I'm in my 20's and I can't get away with having my parents spend X amount anymore!

Got one of these guys at lvl. 8 in Dreamyard, and they make good with double battles. Basically a Chansey clone, but here's the thing... I looked through the entire 5th generation, but does anyone else see how so many of the new Pokemon act as clones? I'm starting to think Black and White really are reboots to the Pokemon series. I do love how they explain everything at the beginning! I have a friend who's playing through the 1st and 2nd generation games. Dude totally had the same problem as me back when I played them: what's the PC for? Professor Juniper is no Oak, but at least she sets her trainers straight instead of: DON'T GO INTO THE TALL GRASS!

What's that highly attractive friend? You're busy tonight? Oh, no problem. I'll just be at home eating a pizza and playing Pokemon...
-
>busy female friend
>doesn't want to include you in activity
this isn't even beta, this is like, gamma level game.
-
Too bad highly attractive friend doesn't realize that you also have another highly attractive friend.
Don't let them meet. It's like dividing by zero.
-
This reminds me of sad times. Point of advice - don't move in with highly attractive idea. Ideas like that on paper turn out so, so badly.

Yeah, I don't care what anyone is, just so long as we can get along and not be spiteful of whatever someone has chosen to guide their life. Usually I tend to be subtle with my religious beliefs because I know there are some, both the religious and non-religious, that would go ballistic and harass me on every bullet point they have on their propaganda sheet. I let people come to me with questions; that way no one feels uncomfortable simply by being around me.
-
Began playing White, and I chose Oshawatt. I believe I got lucky and ended up with a female Oshawatt, since Bulbapedia says the Female likelihood is 12.5%.

You can have the viewpoint that the cosmos is random and chaotic, but do you really wish to believe it's out to get you? That's what I'm referring to when I mean "life isn't fair." I just find, and have ran into people, that want to brush off any hope of happiness because they say, "life isn't fair." Like, I dunno, it's the end-all-be-all counter argument to anything positive. I hope no one found my comment condescending. I'm usually pessimistic as an individual, but if you've read my comments before you know it's towards humanity rather than the entirety of existence. If anything, people shouldn't give up looking for happiness. I personally know that it can feel like you're doing far more work than others. Heck, I had to jump through a couple more hoops than others to get a college education, but I'm here and in the field of my choice. Either way, I'll probably end up as the guy caught in the middle here. I have the unique prospect of being the guy being undesirable to either spectrum of religious debate.
-
We're not friends Battra?
-
When people tell me life isn't fair, I tell them otherwise. It's not life/God/the universe that is unfair to you, but your fellow man. Both intentionally and unintentionally, it's because someone acted upon your life. We're faced with many trials, and if you're religious, tests of faith. For a long period of time I thought I was going to have the worst years of my life ahead of me. I was getting really depressed, and it started to show. Yet I never fully gave in. No one is destined to be miserable and you have the (God given) ability to seek happiness and find it in the smallest of cracks along the road of life. TL;DR Opposition in all things, bro.

I know for the large external hard drives (1 TB, etc) that they need a power source. Otherwise, the smaller ones just need a USB port. Know anyone else with an external HDD? I can't say I'm aware of the brand you've mentioned.
