  1. That's probably more of a correct answer, but it's still possible to have two of your Sentries be out on the field. I'll look it up, but I swear I've seen more on larger maps. Then again, it's probably because more would pop up after the others were destroyed.
  2. The Sentries (flying bots) are highly improved in Killzone 3. Though, yes, there seems to be a lack of boundaries that were present in Killzone 2. Sentries can only appear if the beacon is placed in an open area, and of course only a few Sentries on either side can reside in an area. For the most part, it seems that someone forgot to program in how, in the previous game, you couldn't waste those beacons inside. Only until you were outside and there were not too many bots, then you could throw one of your beacons. That's the other thing, you can have more than one of your Sentries out on the field. Those two little bars are the abilities "ammo," if you will. Two Sentries at most, from a single player. It's kinda a remnant of KZ2 Multi because Proximity Mines use to be a Saboteur ability with those icons as well.
  3. After I finish my Zealot run of Severed, I'll get back on Killzone 3. Should only take me an hour at most, considering I might use checkpoints a few times. As I was on Killzone.com though, I got to wondering, what classes are you guys using/upgrading. I see the majority is Tactician, but it also looks like I may be the only one who has bothered with the Marksman. Truthfully, I think I should have focused a bit on Tactician because I find that some matches require a good one. Not lying here, but one Operations I was in went terribly. At the end, I found out that it was because at least four of us, out of seven, were Infiltrators. I find that Tacticians and Medics are vital to Operations. Tacticians to claim the few Spawn Points, and Medics to revive others when claiming Territory.
  4. Went back to Adventure Time avatar, but new! I don't think some Pokedude controlling a Robo-BeefyChu is really representative of me.

  5. Trophies are a bit easy for this DLC. I could have got Remember the Alamo on my first play, but I wasn't paying attention. Here's hoping I have enough ammo at the end on Zealot!
  6. Well good. So when we see a developer take initiative, I'm expecting there to be constructive action taken on both parties' part rather than unorganized bargaining and compromise. A lot of people want different things, both developers and consumers. You name it, a price, a feature, all vary between individuals of the same party. EDIT: Spelling and Grammar fix. (I put the blame on my empty stomach. )
  7. This might sound weird, but I kinda wanted to cry at the end of Dead Space 2: Severed. If it had been a full story, rather than a teaser for the plot of Dead Space 3, I might have shed one.
  8. Has anyone been banned here? Anyone who left? I was thinking of how there are some people I haven't seen lately.

      Yes Man

Some of the people who posted exclusively in New Vegas/Lego Iron Man left within the first month of the forum's inception (December). The primary reason was that we disabled post count from generating for New Vegas (so the only way to see total cumulative post count was by viewing a user's profile). Some people felt this was worth leaving over and/or insisted that we ban their accounts. That's the Cliff Notes version.

    3. Showmeyomoves!

      Showmeyomoves!

There was more to it than that, but... Yeah, not really worth getting into. For the record, MMP has been missing from "The Other Place" as well, and Kanji (known as Soul over there) hasn't been posting much either.

    4. TheForgetfulBrain

      TheForgetfulBrain

It was all very much a shame. I misses the old folks, but there's some folks that haven't left altogether (like smooves, sliths, etc <33).

  9. Yeah, but it'll take both parties. If pirates want to be heard, then we need someone to listen. If developers want to improve relations, there has to be someone on the other end of the table to have a discussion. I'm just not convinced enough people/companies on either side say what they mean, or try to reason why anything doesn't go as planned. "Well, you see, because of this, that is why. Now if you did this, I mean really, it would have worked. Really, it's so simple!"
  10. How many do you want to convert? The way I see it, while we must rid ourselves with inefficient DRM, and poor practices, there are many different groups/crowds that require different methods. That's where I scoff at the idea that it's really more simple than anyone one person with authority, whether online, executive, or media, claims it to be. Also, if you choose Plan A, does it have any negative consequences? Would Plan B had been better, though it was theorized to be less effective? Now wait, we did Step X and Step Y, but where is the result? That's what set me off, the phrasing that, "You just gotta listen, and all the pirates will make purchases!" Well, there's more than one type of pirate, right? Forget the ones that steal for giggles, and we're still left with unique brands of consumer. While normally you have to deal with a market, now we're beginning to see reasoning to make case studies on online personalities. While Billy will pay $10.00, Suzy and Mary will only pay $2.50. Depending of what Reviewer A and Reviewer B, along with Dandy from the block say, what will it take to get Suzy and Mary to spend more without resulting in their pirating behavior.
  11. Lawl, everyone has entitlement issues. That something is owed because X, and Y, therefore Z. Before I continue, I'll clarify this so as to not enrage the flood that I know would happen otherwise. I treat everyone as human. Oh, but I'm very pessimistic on the nature of man, and so through that perspective I don't always see high prospects for either side. It's always going to be never-ending warfare because the industry evolves. While we decrease prices, add features, and improve, something new is going to stroll along to justify some idiotic desire for theft or increasing profit. That's why I don't sympathize with pirates, or anyone who whines about something lost. Yeah, heart of ice, but again, I don't believe there's any kind of innocence here that can be rectified through a promise of a lollipop. Take the incentive to communicate, lower prices to some degree, but while we continue to discuss the industry, how many do look at it through that perspective? The industry. We get online to talk about this, but the gaming community is rather large. I know a lot of gamers, and pirates, who don't bother with any kind of news, statistics, what CEO said this and what game is being delayed. I'm saying, when you reach out, there's got to be a hand to grab. EDIT: TL;DR I'm pretty indifferent to what the hell people do, as long as said people don't complain. (Still) Best friend has pirated great games, no purchase insight.
  12. I played Severed, and it was really good. For being how long it was, the whole time was really intense. Even though you have everything available to you at Stores, you have limited resources. At least you have 50,000 credits to start off with, but your RIG is barely upgraded as well as Stasis. The Pulse Rifle has been partially upgraded, so keep it! I sold off the Patrol Seeker Rifle and bought the Force Gun. I don't mind the Seeker Rifle, but with the few resources, the fewer weapons, the better! I say Severed is intense because you experience every enemy type in the two chapters available. While Isaac is a cool cat, I like the Extraction crew a lot. There was more character to begin with, and for the most part you have had Isaac talking with random people that most end up dying, and of course his one-sided perspective with Nicole.
  13. That's what I was referring to; negative reviews. I'm just saying reviews seem to be given this overwhelming power due to the indecisive nature of consumers, and how publishers (and etc) interact with them. To me, it seems like Notch, and others beforehand, make pirates into this "misunderstood" crowd that just needs love because daddy wasn't there. Pay more attention to them, whisper sweet nothings into their ears and I'm sure they'll make purchases! Like, find the missing variable and the problem wull have a solution. I think how we've discussed piracy alone in this thread shows the intricate motives and dealings that go on through an individual's thought process. Don't charge $59.99? Well, what price is there that's better than FREE? Does every company need to refocus efforts into making sure every game has add-ons, passcodes, and enough material to counter the pirate motive? Does there need to be some kind of hivemind of unified developers on how to look at a pirate community? When it comes down to it, this is another Indie vs. Exec debate. Dude of Minecraft who made a good enough sum for an individual gained the authority to talk to the big wigs on business. EDIT: and social networking costs money too. For little business, i.e. my experience, you usually need a good crew to focus on the masses. I've seen it done before, and for example, Rovio has good Twitter networking with consumers. On Facebook, I have seen companies take on a more conversational discussion. Still, it takes two to tango and if pirates really do need to hear the love of developers, they have to be open to it as well.
  14. I know the dude has money, but I wouldn't equate that to expertise. That, and his analogy kinda sucks. To make an identical car or apartment, you're buying materials to create the doppelganger. Copying a file presents you with the same product, no effort required aside from going online. Reviews are opinion pieces that display one individual's take on a game, but with the backhanded dealings and reliance you see, it does seem to paint reviews (and reviewers) as vital. I know common consumers are fickle, judging products by reviews and advertising, and so many forgo taking a risk and using their experience. EDIT: Also, while I believe developers should focus on strengthening relationships, that's why we have social networking and PR departments. Notch "believes" pirates can be converted to consumers, but really, how do we go about that again? Put aside archaic DRM, and how do you stop people from going from FREE to $59.99?
  15. Downloading Dead Space 2: Severed. Thing is 1679 MB! Isn't that a little over 1.5 GB

I dunno, there's just a lot of crap to it. :P

Nah, unlike the standalone game, these chapters are quite a bit longer. I say, on a first run, it took me a whole hour.

  16. I was interested in this with the prospect of North Korea being the enemy, but a few days ago I watched a documentary through Netflix on North Korea. I've known for some time North Korea is all bark and no bite, but I never fully grasped what the standard living condition was for the people. Suffice to say, it was total hell and the people were brainwashed into believing it was a paradise. Like, Kim Jong Il is treated as a god in the mind's eye of the people. When the female lead asked if "The Supreme Leader" could do any wrong, a "privileged" family sat there confounded as if such words could never form a sentence. The whole purpose of the film was to also document the 1000 surgeries that were to be performed to save the blind. Yeah, at the end of it all, who do they thank? Not the doctors, nor the countries that donated medical equipment, but their Supreme Leader who didn't do shit. Of course, there's extreme fear in place of loyalty. If one member of a family screws up, the whole family goes to a concentration camp where they can be shot for pretty much any reason. One in particular was an ex-guard who saw someone being shot for trying to eat a mouse for food. Last bit, the way the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) is set up between North Korea and South Korea is positioned with guards that would prevent North Koreans from defecting, not the other way. I know I've gone on a lil' rant here, but I feel like after watching that doc, it further proves to me that a standard citizen in a prolific country has little room to talk when they bemoan their nation's government. Like, at least you can complain and mock your leader.
  17. Well, here's a good method to find out if nostalgia is a factor. Get Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie from storage or purchase off of XBLA. Play and see if any memories have been exaggerated. After all, if a future title is going to replicate those experiences, going back would be a good method to see if the games still lived up to our expectations. I can't validate any opinion on Nuts & Bolts because I, for one, am not in the possession of an Xbox 360. Now, I've made karts before, I had LEGO Racer back on the N64, so that's not so much a problem. What I've heard as an issue is balance between the new kart mechanic and traditional platforming. Still can't say for myself, but back around release, I heard people bemoaning how they spent a lot more time building karts than playing what they thought was Banjo-Kazooie.
  18. I still stand by my June proposal. After all, I've spent a bit on the Helghast Edition, and then I'll go after that Tron: Legacy package. I'm still sure all the really awesome games are coming out that month still, right?
  19. I suck at fighters, so while I would like the opportunity to play as Amaterasu and Viewtiful Joe (again), I know I would be wasting my time and money. The person below me takes showers at night.
  20. I figure I just need to give the levels more time; it's just that KZ2 had far more open areas. Heck, while jetpacks are cool, that level where you're given them feels crowded. Like, it's definitely a large map, but there's so much stuff around you. Also, I'm noticing that when Warzone becomes uneven (with players), there are some maps where it's possible to have an entire team spawn camp. I believe it's that Snow Drift level, and heck, there was no way around getting past these jerks. To leave the spawn grounds, you either go through a few small camp-things or a tunnel. There's also the Crater level where the Helghast pretty much have to exit out of two giant holes. Once the ISA has the only Spawn Point, it's possible to keep the Helghast at there Spawn camp for a long time.
  21. Eff, I'm really sucking tonight. If my team wins, I have a terrible K/D ratio. If my team loses, I have a good K/D ratio. What are your impressions on the levels? Personally, I'm starting to yearn for KZ2's levels. While the levels online look impressive, some of them are a pain to navigate. Like, I knew Killzone has a corridor fetish, but sometimes I guessed where I was going. Also, anyone else feel like they're dying early? I swear, it takes two shots to bring me down, but I have to fill another player's head with lead. I wonder if I'm lagging because I've received "headshot" kills after a few seconds of my opponent standing.
  22. Dude, I love my dog. More than likely you're referring to the people who go to extensive lengths to pamper their pets, but I get tired of when people harass me for caring for my dog. Yes, I have a picture of my dog in my room. Sorry if I miss her as she's almost 300 miles away and she offered emotional support when things went crappy. It's unconditional love, but it's a love people can benefit from. Like, just because she's an inside dog doesn't mean I dress her in expensive dog clothes or feed her human cuisine. She's a dog, but I would consider her a member of the family. Lives under the same roof, there's pictures and memories of her with all the human members. When she dies, I'm going to be crying for a good while. That said, I really only care about my dog. One time, out on a walk, some little rat of a dog came up to us and started to harass my dog. If the owner (some brat) didn't run up and grabbed the thing, I would have probably kicked it.
  23. I'm Mountain Standard Time, and I'm not sure when I'll be playing today. All I have left to unlock for Infiltrator is the Rocket Launcher. I actually rely on it more than I thought...
  24. I play Guerrilla Warfare to get myself warmed up and to familiarize myself with new weapons and classes. I find that you can't dick around in Warzone as much because everyone is a vital part of winning the seven rounds. Man, I love riding in those mechs, but I feel like the level is kinda small for them. It's cool to have a mech battle, but for the most part, the mechs are good defensive devices. You comin' over to blow up my stuff?
