  1. I dug up dirt old Internet images I've long since forgotten. Expect to see a few in my posts, when the occasion arrives I assure you.

Remember that time you guys made your own web pages? http://baconrath.neocities.org Not yours, but this was my favorite.

I totally forgotten about this and yes, I am still proud of this.

I have that one bookmarked, as well.

  2. Personally I won't double-dip, but it does the heart good to see the game getting the love it so rightfully deserves.
  3. The Target Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale is active in the US now. Also, Best Buy has a Buy 1 Get 50% Off sale on 3DS game from Nintendo. It applies towards pre-orders too, so that's why Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby is sold out on the website.
  4. Naruto had its final issue today at Chapter 700. Man, 15 years it has been around and do I feel old. I remember being a dweeby lil' teen when I got the first Shonen Jump for the United States. Naruto and One Piece, man. Who knows when One Piece will end, and while it definitely still has quality to it, One Piece tends to drag on. Seems like Oda and Kishimoto grew into veterans and if you read the two's latest chapters, they reference the other with Naruto's finale. There will technically be a short story series in Spring 2015, but I'm not expecting a whole lot. The Great Ninja War (or whatever) felt like a big "And Then" plot that never bothered to calm down. It wasn't like the Freiza Saga in Dragon Ball Z where it more or less felt obvious to the gradual power increase and threat level. Just, the final chapter of Naruto actually felt good. Yeah, it's sort a fanservice thing, but every popular anything tends to end that way. It wasn't obnoxious and was a bit endearing with the new generation. Oh, and... NARUTO AND HINATA IS CANON!
  5. If it makes any difference, I think Ethan and TCP are both insane. Ya'll need some proper perspective.
  6. If you ever find yourself back in Destiny, ride your Sparrow in style.
  7. I solo'd the Lv. 26 strike required for the Thorn bounty. It probably took me a whole hour with the deaths and final cheesing method, which as I learned isn't necessarily the best method now. I tried to reach the cliff people have found, but I couldn't nail the final jump and decided not to waste another five minutes. I switched my Bladedancer class to the invisibility trait to make the more aggressive enemies lose track of me. Though I have Thorn now, the best Exotic hands down for PvE is Icebreaker. I wouldn't have gotten through without that beautiful sniper rifle and its regenerating ammo. I only have two Exotic Bounties left, the Pocket Infinity and Invective bounties. Have to gather six more Fusion Rifles and complete a Weekly.
  8. I looked online to see if anyone else lately was experiencing my issue too and there have been many threads online in the last few days with people experiencing a problem with Rest Mode. I mean, you're right it has happened in the past, but for me it would be rare for it to say pulsating, but also holding the Power button would fix it quick. Now I can't even hold down the Power button to force a shutdown.
  9. I have it, but I kinda, well, haven't been watching the movies I've been buying as of late. Only two movies and one of them is Godzilla while the other is the latest X-Men. For Godzilla, I already know it's a long movie with little footage of Godzilla, so it's hard to motivate myself to sit through half the human drama.
  10. I don't know if anyone here has experienced this yet, but it would appear that Rest Mode (once Stand-by Mode) is acting up, or in other words bugged. The console won't wake up from Rest Mode and is indicated by the orange light constantly pulsating. I had this happen to me last night, and while normally holding down the Power button should and has worked for others, I swear it didn't work for me. It may have been that I didn't hold down the Power button long enough, but otherwise I unplugged the console and hoped for the best as it's a scary solution to the immediate predicament. There have been three fixes I've read from other users: 1. Change the USB settings for Rest Mode to Always instead of the default 3 Hours. 2. Eject any disc before going into Rest Mode. Truth is, this might be the main culprit as I believe this is what triggered the problem with my console. The Eject button beeped during Rest Mode, but wouldn't wake up the console and/or eject the disc. 3. I wouldn't bother with this, but there are users that claim if you go into Safe Mode (hold down Power for 7 seconds) and download 2.0 again, it's suppose to fix the issue. Thing is, I've read users saying they still experience the problem. All in all, I think I'll just be turning off my PS4 for now until an official fix of sorts. I haven't had a problem there and I'm not really willing to risk entering the Eternal Rest Mode once more (as I would call it).
  11. Got the Platinum for Legend of Korra. Toughest trophy? Tie between "find all the random treasure" and "farm cabbages until a total of 10." I'm the Avatar, and I beat up Equalists for produce and trinkets!

I'm the Avatar and this is my favorite cabbage in Republic City.

  12. Ethan, now you only have two Jackolytes left! You got to hold on to them so you can have a pumpkin head in, like, March!
  13. You've said a lot of crazy things, but this is like #3 in the Top 5.
  14. Freedom Wars is AAA? Wait, Freedom Wars is out?
  15. Eventually, all you'll need to achieve S Rank on missions are highly leveled Scouts. One mid-game level I completed by just moving Alicia. But yes, everyone remembers the tank. Yes... and when you think you're nearly through, Selvaria shows up.
  16. Yeah, probably an alt. So I picked up the game to prepare for Xur and gain Vanguard Rank 3 since I was so close. Got Rank 3, so now everything is going towards New Monarchy. Imagine my pure ecstatic nature when Xur is selling Crest of Alpha Lupi (Hunter)! It has all the additional perks I previously used, if not better (ALL Special Ammo capacity increased). Now I can revive and be revived faster, along with producing more Orbs of Light. That last one I always felt was lacking in the Hunter class with either Super.
  17. The Legend of Korra You know, the video game! Yeah, trust me when I say I'm grounded in my opinion on this title. I'm not going to sound fanatical, but I would like to say I'm not liking fans getting scared off by the IGN and Gamespot reviews. Even the Destructoid review I posted earlier doesn't go deep enough into the game, but gives you a quick rundown of what to expect in the game. If you want the best review, then GameTrailers' video review does the job. And they gave it a 6.5, whereas I still stick with my 7 Cabbages. I swear, if there had been more TLC (time, love, and cash) this would probably have been more highly rated. It feels like there was a limit on how much could be done, probably a factor in time if anything. The Platinum charm and style is still there alongside the Korra universe in the presentation, but you won't get anything too over-the-top until you get to the final boss. They weren't kidding when it was said you'd know it's a Platinum boss. I've already explained the story to the fullest reasonable extent in the actual thread because there's not much else to discover besides the villain's motive. I'd like to think this is canon, but it'd also be a little odd to think Korra went full badass almost secretly between the time Unavaatu attacked and Zaheer broke out of his confinement. It probably is, but it still feels rather shoehorned even with the understanding that there wasn't really any other possible moment for the show's chronology. The $15 price point I like to think is a positive, but it comes down to how you value time and money. I've read from people that price point isn't a problem so long as they enjoy their time. Yet, if it has been deemed bad, no price will ever offer a reason to play the game. Since it's on Steam, I imagine it could have a sale this winter, but probably not by much. Be aware that there's not going to be a lot of PC options for the game. Heck, I barely had options for the game on PS4. I could talk more about it more, but basically if you love Legend of Korra, want to play probably the only game that gets bending right without being a joke, here's the game. Will you spend 20 hours on it? Only if you like trophies and want to play it on Extreme.
  18. Eh, even after my "shelving this game" moment, I ended up playing it for an hour on Sunday night. All I can do is gain reputation for Vanguard and New Monarchy through bounties. Still have the last skill/perk for Gunslinger to level up too, but nothing crucial. Why bother telling you guys this? Well, when I was hurting for just one Mote of Light a few days ago and coming up empty-handed, within that single hour session I earned two Motes. It further proved to me you shouldn't rely too much on RNG. The odds are just too wacky, and while you'll have a lucky night, be aware it's the exception. For now, I have really shelf'd the game, not out of frustration, just not motivated to spend the time for earning reputation. But if we ever ended up doing a Raid I'd happily jump back on!
  19. I bought it before reviews simply because this is going to be the Legend of Korra game. Sure, there's the 3DS game too, but given how little we've ever received outside of just a television show, I wanted it regardless of whether it would be mediocre or excellent. For a $15 digital-only licensed television show video game, it's good. If this was suppose to pass as a full retail game, I'd be pissed. It obviously didn't have that much work put into it, but it pays good fanservice throughout the game through collectibles and remarks from Korra as you progress through a level. If you like action games with a bit of Platinum Games flair, this is what you'll get in Legend of Korra. I haven't finished the whole Story Mode yet, but it'll essentially be you as Korra and you'll occasionally be visited by Jinora. The story actually started out fine, but I imagine (looking at the trophy list) that I'm halfway through and not much else happens besides "mystery villain is doing something." If I had to make a parallel, it reminds me of those anime franchise movies where the main character will have a certain power/skill, but it would mean the current story arc and villain would be on break so said main character could even fight with the same power/skill. Arbitrary Number Score: 7/10 Cabbages Honestly, if it didn't have some of the little things it did, I'd go lower to about a 6/10. Of interest, it personally felt like I was playing a classic licensed title. You know, you'll collect items and currency alongside decent visuals. It's better than those, but it still gave me the same vibe. I also haven't unlocked Pro Bending Mode yet, but chances are it's decent with a few quirks. EDIT: If you want a review, Destructoid nailed it, IMO. http://www.destructoid.com/review-the-legend-of-korra-282722.phtml
  20. Don't know about Steam, but less than 24 hours until Legend of Korra video game unlocks on PSN.

I'm very interested in how this will be. I guess we're waiting till tomorrow for reviews?

  21. I can enjoy the game, just I'm at an endgame point where everything is a long grind. If I was really picky, I'd try to get Vanguard and New Monarchy up to Rank 3 (both currently at Rank 2). Heck, I could actually bother to upgrade to a better Sparrow once that happens as I don't care for the Crucible ones I could purchase. Then I notice half the PXoD clan has multiple characters. I never did mention my second Exotic Engram got me that Praxic Fire chest piece for Warlock. I was hoping for Alpha Lupi for my Hunter, but obviously that's a 16.7% chance of happening and even having armor for your class is 33.4%. Still, I got my cloak from the Speaker so not much else to spend Motes of Light on. Supposedly there will be an event in the future that will use Motes of Light for something like attempts at missions or whatever. P.S. Thunderlord is pretty good and definitely handles better than Super Good Advice.
  22. Basically most of the classic Scooby-Doo TV shows and movies were between good and entertaining, never really unbearable. Pretty much the only modern Scooby-Doo media I could/can watch is Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost. The computer virus movie was the turning point to mediocre status for the majority of Scooby-Doo. That previous TV show had its moments, but eh.
  23. I've officially shelf'd the game tonight. I don't feel very accomplished tonight other than drained and angry. The anger is more so at the PvP element as it has essentially gone to shit with teammates and the "I'm so MLG" opponents that have to teabag you if you ever killed them once. This isn't myself saying "get good" to others, but Control works in your favor if you control the point right beside you and WHY THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING OFF! Yeah, I've been pretty salty as of late because I also loathe RNG. It did favor me the night before where I gained enough Ascendant Energy to max out Hawkmoon. I just don't like using it everywhere because my Grim Citizen III (an auto rifle) works wonders on mobs in PvE with the Spray and Play ability. Thing is, I still don't have an Exotic piece of armor. I don't use Gunslinger, so the Hunter helms the past two weeks haven't been my thing. I wish the first week Xur showed up I had been fortunate enough to have enough Strange Coin for Mask of the Third Man. So the last two weeks I've used my Motes of Light on the Exotic Engrams. Last week I got the Helm of Saint-14... I'm a Hunter. I didn't expect to do it this week, but I ended up with 22 out of 23 relatively quickly. The last Mote of Light didn't come easy because every damn blue engram I turned in gave me Rustburner armor and typical weapons. Funny, people would complain about getting Motes, but after 25 blue engrams you'd think one of them could have been a Mote. One strike I actually obtained two Legendary Engrams! Sweet, maybe I can get something a little better. Nah, just other class armor, but at least there are Ascendant Shards when dismantling. I'm at 58 shards now, but I don't want to waste them if armor I'd eventually replace. Thing is, I learned that you can't even get to Lv. 30 unless you get a Raid helm on the higher difficulty. With it being up to RNG and looking like the 100 hours I've put in would require even more time, well let me say I'll consider it. When the Expansion comes out because there's nothing else Destiny. Yeah, yeah, you gave me the Pocket Infinity exotic bounty and Thunderlord in Crucible tonight, but like hell I'll put in the effort to max out an Exotic Heavy Weapon and find X amount of Rare level Fusion Rifles.
  24. I believe there are a few handcannons and I believe auto rifles that can have the ability. I think I even saw a Scout Rifle with it, but like I said it's cool for moments, but most time I'd go with a different stat/ability.
  25. I don't think it's called Armor Piercing for Thorn (I forget the name as I still haven't finish its last step), but any ability that revolves around piercing usually means your bullets can go through multiple enemies. In the case of sniper rifles, it can also mean that the bullets can go through walls. Seems to vary on the sniper rifle, but for example my Final Boss can do such a thing. It's really only handy in Crucible and on Control. If you have a Primary weapon, it's good for crowd control but I personally wouldn't chose it over an ability that could help Stability or Reload.
