  1. FYI, expect some serious business in tomorrow's Legend of Korra.

    1. TCP

      Bolin better lava bend.

  2. More info on the game today, but I think everyone would care more about this announcement instead.
  3. It is awesome, or I assume it hasn't changed much on PS4 from when I played on PS3. The attitude and voice chat from other players is what can ruin the fun. I would say, in my experience, 3 out of 5 players would fit the stereotype whereas the others would either be friendly and cool, or just talking to their friends (which could be annoying). There is some weeding out though because I'd say half of the time no one would even have a mic. Kinda the double-edged sword because there were times where just saying something would help your team from being slaughtered.
  4. Seems TLoU multiplayer hasn't changed. I swear, for such an amazing single player experience, the online multiplayer mostly featured the stereotypical online gamer. Examples include, but are not limited to: dudes talking about how high they were, guys acting like big pimpin' gangsters, up-and-coming guitarists with their two chord songs, and the MLG experts who rage at their team because "my strategy, guys!"
  5. Didn't see Guardians of the Galaxy last night, but it'll be sometime in the next few days. If anything, my "ranking" list will probably be like Ethan's list, but I still say Iron Man 2 is an average superhero film. There's been far worse superhero films for me to hate on it, though it's hard to watch it with the problems it does exhibit. Otherwise, you guys need to watch The Incredible Hulk. It's entertaining and I thought Edward Norton did a good job.
  6. If it makes you feel better, all I have going for me in the relative future is seeing Guardians of the Galaxy this Saturday evening. After that it's back to my mundane life.
  7. So unless Hulu gets their act together on Book 3 episodes, both Amazon and Google Play have the latest episode for purchase. This means Nick.com will be your free solution for watching the rest of Book 3. With my ISP issues, I had to try a workaround and it did work. Nick's new video player looks cluttered, but it at least works better than a lot of others I've used online. Anyway, The Stakeout is definitely one of the best episodes of Book 3 so far. It had some of that Last Airbender charm to it where you have Team Avatar going around villages and meeting different people. Also, Book 3 has been doing a good job of referencing the previous Books, so while there isn't an overall epic tale like in Last Airbender, previous events are recognized for better world-building. Oh, and I don't think Su is going to like...
  8. All the haters gonna hate while I'll be playing as one of my favorite Zelda characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRHhK0UcAh4
  9. I found most of his points valid. One example I can think of involving Kenny is... Season 1 had those moments too, but each time I talked to Kenny in the first half of the latest episode, it felt disjointed to where I didn't think my choices were really effective. Telltale has always had an intended path, but we're suppose to be able to alter how we get there, something I think Season 1 did better than Season 2. With this season, I'm always getting the sense that maybe because we're Clem now, we're facing more "out-of-hand" moments where we can't have as big an impact as Lee did with his decisions.
  10. But no, on a serious note, it's hard to say what exact impact Smash Bros. Wii U will have given that after Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo's showcase for games the next couple months, people have been sporadically jumping aboard. Smash Bros. is a still a significant factor, but any sudden increase would be from those who absolutely held out until this holiday season to get Smash Bros. and were hoping to get previous games on the cheap. I'm more concerned about Smash Bros. 3DS because given its delay to October, it might have dissuaded who knows how many gamers from getting the portable game when the undeniable powerhouse title is now only two months apart rather than the previous five month gap. Nintendo Advocate, OUT!
  11. Pretty good, though I've never measured how many feet away I was standing when the audio would start dropping. Depends on how many walls you're going behind too.
  12. I've recently looked at a few videos and it definitely looks like a game you'd want to keep your eye on if you're an Xbone owner.
  13. Eh, I decided against getting the game all over again. I already have such a backlog I don't really want a new version of a recent game to take over the few games I'm close to completing. If you guys haven't figured it out, I have a problem with dropping games right near the end.
  14. Sorry to double post, but it's a trailer for the remaining episodes.
  15. If any of you were able, would you guys actually go ahead with GameStop's trade-in offer of 50% off? I still don't have a PS4 yet, but I never did get any of the DLC for The Last of Us and it might be worth replay in its Remastered state.
  16. Yeah, but therein lies Lady Shiva's boss fight where you have the goofy ninjas and the Counter-Counter-Hit trash. To be honest, the only boss fights I remember of all the Arkham games have been the ones that were unique to the common combat with the thugs. Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, Clayface, even Ra's al Ghul were memorable, but all of Origins was... meh.
  17. Essentially what Vecha said. I personally own the PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset and felt it was well worth the $100 for a wireless headset. The only downside would be the lack of proper Xbox One support, but I'd have to have that console to really care. It works well with my PS3, PC, and smartphone with the included 3.5mm cable. The PX4 is more money and you'll be using one of those wireless boxes. They tend to go on sale as of late, like I believe Best Buy has it for $30 off this week, but it'll still be more money than the Gold Wireless. Either way, your options are between those two and maybe the PX4 has a feature that peaks your interest.
  18. I don't see a school uniform, therefore not generic. Jeez, get it together here people! I want sass and wit, not some bathroom stall scribbles!
  19. Looks like I can't even watch the new episode of Legend of Korra on Nick.com because my Internet provider blocked it from their service as it's part of the "dropped" channels.

Hooray for a lack of net neutrality!

I'm not sure that net neutrality would block a content provider from doing that, it would only cover the network providers.

My understanding is that in this case on both sides the ISPs and the content providers are the same people. A big part of the net neutrality stuff is to stop ISPs dictating terms for content providers. Though obviously main premise pushed is the slowing down of content, not outright blocking.

  20. IGN had a livestream of many of the games at SDCC and one of them happened to be Legend of Korra! It's both gameplay footage and developer Q&A. Haven't finished the whole thing yet, 13 minutes and all, but I wanted to share.
  21. Some Combos are tasty, the rest are typical American snack food caliber.

  23. The theory/idea was that during SDCC we would have been told the premiere date and seen more marketing. Instead, the middle of Book 3 leaks and Nick rushes out the majority of the season to "counteract" the situation. Instead, it was half-baked and Nick had this phobia of putting episodes online for their own website. Now you can watch the first five episodes of Book 3 online through Nick. So our options are Nick's site, Amazon, Google Play, and Hulu for online viewing. I'll see how Amazon handles it, and even if it requires Prime, I've got that down. We're going to be getting one episode at a time now so Book 3 should last longer than two months after Nick's treatment. Either way, someone on the subreddit posted a relevant clip from a rather older sitcom that fits too perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6-UuNcKBMI
  24. All the 400 Days stuff was in Episode 3, but all it truly amounted to were cameos of the characters you got to join "the group" at the end. However, the inclusion of Bonnie did seem a bit unfair given that we already have some knowledge of her, so even though Clem doesn't know her, we do. I'm also part of that 80% in Episode 3, and while I've wanted to maintain this kind of protective state for Clem still, she's our character now and as Chuck put in Season 1: "I don't know much 'bout you folks, but y'all keep goin' like this and that girl ain't gon' make it. You gotta consider her a living person, that's it! You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart, you're alive." Clem has had to make some immensely grown up decisions in Season 2, especially Episode 4. It is the episode where you're going to feel like you messed up, but the truth is that everyone who died was going to die. This is about the group and partially why I prefer Season 1 over Season 2. Speaking of a few choices:
  25. I liked Phantom Hourglass, but it isn't as memorable as most Zelda games. Spirit Tracks I still need to finish (like right near the end), but besides the story and interaction with Princess Zelda, again nothing really memorable.
