  1. That's what I meant by Raid armor being at the last progression point. It's the only armor with Light scaling to provide Lv. 30. You'll only make it to Lv. 29 with Legendary and whatever piece of Exotic. Anyway, I don't want to repeat myself on what I've said before on the game, but Destiny seems to cement itself as the "awesome, but..." game of the year. Not only will you have to rent it to see if it will compliment your taste and tolerance in games, but as it changes it will either improve or frustrate what you like and hate about the game. For me, I'm glad a majority of the changes are providing a solution to problems. At the same time, Destiny will still have grinding as a staple of it's post-game routine. At least they'll provide more options to getting the rare materials needed for upgrades. I actually had a coworker today say he was thinking of selling the game, which ironically he was the one praising the game the most two weeks ago. The one time he praised the story was after the cutscene at the Reef, the one moment everyone thought the story was picking up. He basically went over everything that is commonly agreed to be at fault in the game, so really I didn't make an effort to persuade him either way. I like, for the most part, how the game plays, but at the same time the Tower is super empty and you are replaying the same areas over again with modifiers. I at least let him know that Bungie is currently patching and reworking the game, especially in regards to materials and loot. He didn't care for PvP, favoring something like CoD instead. Personally, even with the balance issues with PvP, I still come back to it for Control and Clash play modes. Afterwards, I guess I gave him hope that in time, while he plays other games, that there will be more of a game then what's currently available.
  2. Shadow of Mordor seems to be doing excellent with critics. I'm not a big LotR fan, but I'm glad it looks to have turned out good.

Also, the number of planets was known pre-launch, and PvP is almost always unbalanced at launch.

First of many, and funny enough it barely affects me. I need the thorn to become actually useful right now and for that scout rifle buff to hit

Yeah, I'm hoping the scout rifle and exotics buffs happen soon. I've already been using scout rifles and doing fine (PvE), so I'm gonna be a wrecking machine once they get buffed.

  3. If only Book 4 wasn't coming out so soon. I thought the game would be a good distraction during the off-season, but now it'll be during Book 4. It's a bit more Korra that'll all end suddenly when Book 4 ends.
  4. Going back to a previous post, as far as armor progression goes, for me it seems to go: Starter -> Found -> Bought -> Engram -> Found -> Bought Vanguard/Crucible/Faction -> Actually getting a Legendary from Cryptarch -> Exotic by whatever means -> Raid Gear above all others. The Queen's Wrath gear is really good, but if you've already invested in Legendary Armor of some sort, it was awesome to get ascendant material from dismantling them. Taking that away is ridiculously stupid and is frustrating that it furthers grinding for what areextremely rare material. On weapons, I agree on it all. I have a great Auto Rifle, but it's not my style. I've tried to use the Scout Rifle for PvP because of the Queen's Bounty, but it just doesn't hit hard enough. The Auto Rifle currently has good range, high rate of fire, actually decent stability when upgraded, and reload can be fast with armor and weapon bonuses.
  5. Decided today I'm going to skip the 3DS version of Smash coming out soon. Primarily because the game was delayed too long so now we're getting into full swing of game releases for anticipated next-gen games on every platform. Not being a big handheld gamer, handheld games tend to be pushed aside. Secondly, the Wii U version will be the beefier version that is rumored to be coming out on November 21st. I feel it has been intentionally kept hidden for so long because with such a small gap in-between the two versions, there's less a chance people will double dip. Don't get me wrong, I've talked to some dudes excited for Smash on October 3rd, but I think I can wait not even two full months for the console Smash.
  6. 1. Overhead Projectors we got, but I guess it's a common practice to let students use them? 2. Any round object really, but probably not as common. 3. Nope 4. Nope 5. I swear once I was on something like it. 6. Yes. 7. Seem familiar... 8. I had Pogs for days and days. 9. WordArt, ha. 10. Maybe for my father since candy cigarettes have been out of style since they can't be called candy cigarettes anymore. Speeding up, had some airplanes like 17, had some rubber guys in 18, had the toys in 21, and I swear we had something like 31.
  7. "Oops, I thought it was there. I guess I lied." No, see you didn't lie. A lie is an intentional misdirection or misinformation, not simply being mistaken. If you made a mistake, stop saying you're lying because you're coming off like an accidental douche. I don't know if anyone here comes across this, but nearly every time I'm at work, I've got a group of coworkers that always say "they lied" when they've made an error. It's even worse when they talk to clients because they're making it worse than it truly is!
  8. I'm buying Hyrule Warriors because it's Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda theme, thus get it if you like hack n' slash, not just Zelda.

Dynasty Warriors games are never worth the full price.

15% of all profits of Dynasty Warrior games (and Zelda reskins) goes to support ISIS.

Im more concerned with the 85% that goes to Koei Tecmo.

  9. I ended up playing later in the evening and I was actually right at the Bounty bot-dude a few seconds before he updated with the Queen Bounties. I'm going to start them right now, but the main deal is that no one will be able to get any of the vendor stuff on the first day. It's like the cap on Crucible and Vanguard currency. You'll still get the chance at Queen gear in the missions you can participate in after completing a bounty.
  10. Exploit I was talking about, but just in case you don't notice, you should have a lot of ammo first or be prepared to venture outside your cocoon of protection.
  11. Well, if you're on, feel free to invite me. I got an Exotic Bounty where if I kill 500 Hive, I get this Exotic Handcannon. Right now I'm going to upload a video clip of an exploit I found in one of the raids. I don't know if anyone else discovered it as I don't keep up with Destiny boards or what have you.
  12. Before I play tonight, this is my character as of now.
  13. So, I've gotten a bit deep into this game. I've only played with our Caveman of Metal and Ethan the Mighty. Fun times, though Ethan I had to mute you because all I heard out of your mic was what I assumed was a hurricane. Strikes, am I right? I'm not sure I'll be able to do the "No death on a Strike" bounty. I haven't bothered to look at most reviews because I get the gist of it all. There were people with too much hype, no one can pinpoint what the game is, thus it's some MMORPFPTPSDC all together. The acronym standing for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing First Person Third Person Dungeon Crawler. Am I exaggerating? I've heard and read people compare it to a lot of games that encompass some aspect of that construct. I've heard the game is similar to Halo, but honestly the only thing that feels like Halo is the lore. It plays like Borderlands, though you'll play with two friends or randomly join others on the field. It has "MMO" things, but it doesn't really go that in-depth to a true MMO level, so I keep seeing Phantasy Star Online comments mainly stemming from The Tower as the social hub. During the story you're going through levels that begin to take a crawler aspect, but it doesn't go Diablo 3 until post-story where you're hunting for legendary and exotic loot. In the end, it's Destiny and it's really freakin' fun and most days I just want to come home and jump into the game. Again, I haven't read many reviews, but last night I watched GameTrailers review and I agree with it most. They rated it at an 8.0, though for me I'd go up to an 8.5, but it's a damn arbitrary number. For myself, it does a lot of excellent work over a few gripes. My two true complaints are the lack of in-game lore and a lack of content in The Tower. The Grimoire Cards flush out the lore through an external source, but characters and objects are just left out in favor of the Grimoire Cards. The Tower feels like a lot of empty space just to go to vendors where half of them don't do much for you until the end-game portion. If I had to put it into words: This is the ultimate rental game, not because of a lack of quality, but because Destiny is a beautiful enigma that will only be able to describe itself through your personal preference on a variety of genre elements. EDIT: On pulse rifles, personally most aren't my type, but I've had three that handle amazingly with super fast reload. I tend to keep one of each weapon type because the Crucible leads me to switching up my layout depending on the mode.
  14. After playing a lot more Crucible stuff, I would say that an average is probably met, though I wonder how it goes about the weapons you bring in and so forth. Still, I would say that higher level players having unlocked abilities creates a gap, but not a rather large one given that guns will do most of the killing of your enemies. Anywho, I haven't reached the point yet where I can go into a subclass, but there was this video on r/DestinyTheGame... I believe I will be looking into the "Bladedancer" subclass.
  15. I dunno about how balance they make it, at least when you're first starting out. As soon as I got the first chance to enter The Crucible, I was paired up with Lv 11 - 17 players when I was Lv 5. With their abilities, I could barely kill other players unless I was paired with a teammate. Ironically, I got first kill that match. As far as story, I think Grimoire Cards offer lore, and doing the Planet View offered some insight. Still, I think the whole angle Destiny goes with is that the Darkness arrived with evil forces that more of less remained a mystery to humankind. I mean, especially how wrecked Earth became, I bet whatever earlier Earth civilization learned may have been lost. I think the game is real great and is worth most of the hype. I haven't teamed up with anyone here yet given my schedule, but I've had impromptu co-op with random players. Heck, there was a Timed Event in one of the missions last night where myself, a Lv 5 and Lv 17 player defeated three "Fallen Drilling Squads" (or something) just in time. EDIT: BTW, what did everyone choose for their race and class? I didn't play the Beta so I didn't know you could be an "Exo" and whatever the blue/purple people are called. Given you couldn't customize human faces much, I thought I'd be an Exo, though half the faces reminded me of Michael Bay's Transformers. And I'm a Hunter because sniper rifles, hand cannons, and cloaks!
  16. I spent a good 10 minutes designing my character. Thing is, I figured not many people would actually be seeing my face, but damn, when you only have so few customization options, you want to set it just right. Unless, do we get addition customization for our face later on, or is it pretty much armor that's the whole customization? EDIT: Oh, and I was finally able to join the PlayStation Clan.
  17. Oh, nearly forgot... Did anyone else read about or actually go to the website advertising Destiny "The Fragrance?" People were writing about how it was a "work-around" for Microsoft to advertise the game on their platform, but ultimately it was still an advertisement for Destiny. The website is replaced with some text explaining there are games, an experience, ask retailers, and etc now.
  18. I dunno, I'm getting a "Last of Us" vibe for the launch of Destiny, a.k.a. "Sorry sir, we don't have any PS4 copies left. Would you be interested in the Xbox 360 version?"
  19. For Smash, I've never used the C Stick for Smash Attacks. Using the A button offers better control of my attacks, IMO. The Circle Pad Pro wasn't even properly supported, so a lot of people just blew it off. I was reading up on some of the games that used it, and the Circle Pad Pro wasn't always a proper second analog stick, just an alternate analog stick. I've had an XL for not even a full year, Nintendo. Hell, I think a lot of people have recently bought either a special edition 3DS XL or a 2DS. I'm not ready for another handheld, Mr. Iwata! EDIT:
  20. Yesterday the PS4 Limited Edition came back in stock on Amazon, though I never did receive a notification email from Amazon. Perhaps because I had the standard edition pre-ordered; who knows? I'm finally on the hype train too, though I won't be able to play until late Tuesday evening. Well, I'll only be playing in the late evenings for the next couple of days...
  21. Funny, I was about to post these too, but I can do one better. On the Destiny subreddit, some dudes figured a way to input all the codes at once. Did it myself and it worked without a glitch. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2fmp4u/all_25_codes/ In Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + J to open the JavaScript Console (If you're on Mac, toolbar -> View -> Developer -> JavaScript Console). Copy and paste the following: var codes=["YKA-RJG-MH9", "3DA-P4X-F6A", "MVD-4N3-NKH", "TCN-HCD-TGY", "HDX-ALM-V4K", "473-MXR-3X9", "JMR-LFN-4A3", "HC3-H44-DKC", "69P-KRM-JJA", "69P-VCH-337", "69R-CKD-X7L", "69R-DDD-FCP", "69R-F99-AXG", "69R-VL7-J6A", "69X-DJN-74V", "6A7-7NP-3X7", "6A9-DTG-YGN", "7F9-767-F74", "FJ9-LAM-67F", "JD7-4CM-HJG", "JDT-NLC-JKM", "JNX-DMH-XLA", "7CP-94V-LFP", "7MM-VPD-MHP", "RXC-9XJ-4MH"]; var codeField = document.getElementById("text_code"); var i = 0; var delay = 2500; function enterCodeLoop () { setTimeout(function () { codeField.value = codes; $(".btn_submitCode")[0].click(); i++; if (i < codes.length) { enterCodeLoop(); } }, delay) } enterCodeLoop();
  22. I figured I'd try to squeeze Infamous: First Light in before Destiny arrives Tuesday. I swear this game plays better than Second Son. Maybe it's because you have a character with a single power, but I do not kid when it feels like Fetch just handles better. I haven't gotten too deep yet, but what did everyone else think of First Light?
  23. Nevermind, I just learned, after finding a link to send a verification email again, that NeoGAF could detect my old university's alias system. Well, at least I have my username saved for... whenever.

  24. So I'm getting the impression that NeoGAF is the place to be, but it's exclusive with a long waiting list. I JUST WANT TO BE COOL TOO!

GOH:a step to prevent younger audiences. Quite effective actually.

Mal: I used my uni's. They don't really send you emails besides the initial one unless you opt in to get notified via email, which regularly it's turned off

Maybe only the bad parts of the community leaks out but it looks to be quite circle-jerky and mob-like. Like a more well put together Reddit.

  25. Yes, basically just that. In the attempt to be like Smash, but not Smash, having closed off stages where you have to land a special move that requires build up is what makes or breaks someone's enjoyment of the game.
