  1. Well said. Yep, though I hope when I legitimately say those words I'll have a patch of grass floating in the sky, ala The Jetsons. I'd sic my RoboDog on them as they blast off with their personalized Jetpack Jr. brand jetpacks while they verbally post "screw you old man" on the Super Internet, which gets somewhere between 20-50 Likes and favorited by my wife and her RoboCat.
  2. I get on the 90's kid train a bit more often than I should, but it's what every generation has done for quite a while. We had it differently, both in technology and culture. Seeing kids get on about their troubles with Facebook, Snapchat, or whatever is wrong with their smartphone seems like tiddlywinks when compared to the drama faced by 80's and 90's kids. Teens use to get excited when they got their own bedroom telephone line, but now you see toddlers with hand-me-down iPhones. I use to walk a few blocks to the local video rental store by the corner grocery shop with the 64 fl oz. fountain drink for 64 cents summer deal. I now have multiple devices that can rent a video at home. There are a ton more, but damn did Ethan get it right with daytime TV too. As an 8 year-old, myself and classmates would talk about that kind of utter crap. Still, kids today will do the same thing years from now, I guarantee it. Back in my day, our smartphones had 1080p and only spoke when spoken too!
  3. Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Yoshi's Wooly World, and both Super Smash Bros for this year. I've warmed up to Splatoon as it reminds me more and more of N64/GCN era multiplayers where you're having fun more than bitching about some ratio for an online leaderboard. There are others, especially Zelda Wii U, but I feel it's too early to get properly hyped. After all, Nintendo had the best E3 presentation and showroom with actual game footage that gave us a reason to be excited.
  4. Isn't there just one? I think it was on a second season last I saw an episode, but I didn't watch much of it in the first place.
  5. Finally got into a theater and saw How To Train Your Dragon 2. Put simply it's pretty dang wonderful. Definitely a worthy sequel to the first movie, if not having surpassed it in some regard. I was worried that too much was spoiled in trailers and in truth there were some good plot points spoiled. Still, it had enough to satisfy a viewing in theaters. Cool new looking dragons, great music, and some neat character development. Only have two problems with the movie, one a plot point and the other about a character. I can look past those though and immensely enjoy the film multiple times.
  6. I had to prepare myself to watch the video. As soon as I saw the title "A Link to the Past vs. Ocarina of Time," I figured what I would be in for as I watch 30 minutes of Arin talking about one of his favorite Zelda games versus one of his most hated Zelda games, period. Now don't get me wrong and imagine my person as Arin's strawman at the beginning. When it comes to discussion/debate, especially on my favorite video game series, I do my best to recognize personal bias and emotion. The two problems I figured I was going to face was Arin's bias and his views being termed for game design theory. I don't hold him with the same regard in that topic as I do other online personalities. Honestly, most of my criticism you can find on the couple thousands of comments online already, so I won't waste everyone's time. Simply put, yeah, Arin doesn't seem to be a fan of storytelling in his games and any kind of plot element that makes most Zelda games... Zelda games. Yeah, Zelda has a formula, but everyone has bitched about that since Wind Waker so it's nothing new no matter how many of his supporters praise him for calling out all of Nintendo on it. I think they got the hint and that's why A Link Between Worlds offered, and Zelda U is going to offer, us more freedom. P.S. I've begun to assume that Arin just can't handle the 3rd dimension in Zelda.
  7. I didn't think I'd go that crazy this Summer Sale. Alas I realized I get most of my PC games twice a year, and that's how I've jumped to 70+.

      70+? Lol. Weak shit.

@FDS I know, why didn't he for for 100. A solid enough number of games to hit thy wallet. heheehe

Still picked up a decent number of games though, even though i own half of the shit already.

  8. I found out Friday that I no longer get Nick, which I'm not surprised I didn't notice sooner as Korra is the only reason I'd watch the channel. Now I have to find a decent source with good quality. I'm hoping Nick's website will air the episodes on a regular basis, but for the life of me I can't remember when they would post them during Book 2. Wasn't it Monday, but at the same time I thought it was sooner?
  9. $50 Steam prepaid card, because having small repeating dollar amounts seems unnecessary.

  10. My laziness in getting Muramasa Rebirth has paid off!
  11. I'm thrilled and cautious at the same time, and this is coming from someone who loves both Legend of Korra and Platinum Games. Reading through the IGN article, it's action (rightly so) and set between Book Two and Three, so expect story of some sort. There will be a turn-based strategy game on 3DS, but imagine if that ended up being the superior licensed game. Also went ahead and voted for the cover on Facebook. As it's being touted as a downloadable game, it's probably not that big of a deal. I want to freak out in joy, but part of me remembers the terrible The Last Airbender licensed games (though some fans enjoyed one of them, I think Into the Inferno).
  12. Battle Block Theater on SALE! YES! Oh, and Metal Gear Rising is on sale too, so anyone waiting on that, get on it so you too can experience revengeance!

I'm a bit disappointed it's only 50% off but after that awful deal on Lords of Shadow 2 I kind of expected as much from Konami.

Still, excited to replay it at 60FPS!

      What platform?

PC, Steam specifically (it's the summer sales), check at bottom as it's yesterdays deal (so only til tomorrow 6PM to grab it)

  13. I'm on my phone right now, so here's hoping. I would love to see some other Nintendo characters, though I'd think Epona would have to be like the Yoshi Bike. Seeing a horse drifting and sparking might be a little too ridiculously entertaining. As for third party, Pac-Man was technically in the arcade game. I'd be doubtful if Sonic could be in Mario Kart when he and all of Sega have a pretty neat kart racing game.
  14. Steam Summer Sale hasn't been too tempting. Kinda an odd mix lately and I don't care for some genres on PC.

I'm at the point that I'm really specific. There might be an impulse buy here and there but I don't see much of those.

I pretty much don't buy anything that isn't both on my wishlist and discounted by at least 75%.

      toxicitizen

Same. I think it's a combination of no longer being prone to making expensive impulse purchases (this game is down to 40$ ?!?!) and me already owning way too much shit I still haven't played.

There was a time when I would've jumped on that Wasteland 2 deal but now I'm just kinda waiting for MGR to go lower than 20 bucks lol

  15. Decided to hold off on Dead Rising 3, which comes out Sept. 5 so it's a little ways out. Got Hotline Miami instead; see what the big deal is on this game.

      Waldorf and Statler

I love that game. I expect you to follow many and buy the soundtrack soon after playing it

  16. Do you think Dead Rising 3 is worth its current sales price? Maybe wait to see how it fairs on PC?

  17. Officially don't expect many first party titles on Vita It's been talked about already, but I link to this article chiefly for the crap excuse that is given. "So when we launched the Vita with Uncharted, it was amazing; PS3-like quality in your palm, but as time moved on, you are seeing PS4 quality and people's expectations for the graphic fidelity has gone up." I would hope that when people bought a Vita, they truly weren't under the impression that they had a portable PS3 in their hands. In fact, I would hope people weren't buying a handheld purely for graphics. It's cool what the system is capable of, but Sony seems to have this tendency to put out a handheld just to have a handheld. Now it's the "Indie and Remote Play" device. I'm satisfied with what third party titles I have and will probably get, but I would hope Sony learned something from the PSP.
  18. This made me physically ill upon reading this blasphemy. I'll break down why Nintendo "won" this E3, even though the whole affair felt more ho-hum than an E3 typically is perceived (excluding those "professional" years in later 2000's). It primarily has to do with how their whole conference wasn't even a conference. It was a non-stop 50 minute prerecorded movie of interesting trailers and game footage. No awkward "Please Applause" moments, no audio goofs, no 15 minute presentations on "concept" pieces, and no technical shortcomings due to the megaton of wireless interference that has plagued every recent E3 conference. The only time I looked away from the whole Nintendo Direct was during Splatoon, the new IP that not many people are caring about because it'll probably be alright (like I predicted). That's really it, though I guess we could nitpick. One thing that bugged me from Sony was the lack of The Last Guardian. A few days before E3 and IGN goes full retard by pronouncing the game officially cancelled. The article is discredited within the hour by a Sony higher-up. Hey, maybe they'll reassure us more than with just a Twitter comment. NOPE.
  19. The footage we saw of the new Zelda was in-engine, so while scripted, it was basically watching a cutscene from the game. Seemed to handle the open world just find with a freaky fast techno-tentacle beasty on Link's tail.
  20. Perhaps the villain is a firebender and he's creating a pseudo-lava from stones, but that seems nearly impossible for one firebender to create a sudden gush of lava in the middle of an Earth Kingdom road. Actually, he's suppose to be the eathbender villain of the group, so perhaps he's able to pull up magma underneath the earth, but maybe not fully harness it. These villains must have some power up burst in their abilities as the waterbender woman is able to waterbend water whips for arm replacements, but almost everyone in this universe has had to use full-body motion to bend. We had King Bumi earthbend with only his face back in The Last Airbender. In Legend of Korra, Yakone and his son Noatak, a.k.a. Amon, were the only waterbenders to use a near telepathic form of bloodbending. Tarrlok was a strong bloodbender, but he still had to use motions.
  21. GCN controller is alright. The face button layout was better suited for certain games, but practically almost every fighter was awkward unless it was a free-for-all. The triggers are a mixed bag for me. Like the shape, not the feel, though maybe the new ones will have some improvements in parts. Not the best, but it has its place and that's in Smash. The Pro controller is fine, but the pro fighters have been using the GCN for so many years that switching would be like a revolution. Not to mention, Nintendo supporting the GCN controller is like an apology to the pros for Brawl's tripping and other "anti-tournament" mechanics.
  22. I don't believe anything was said, but I have to imagine they would work the same as a Classic Controller. After all, there's the Mayflash GCN controller adapter that allows you to plug in one with a Wiimote that seems to work excellently. I guess it would come down to if games can recognize a GCN controller through USB with the official adapter. The only thing I've read is that the adapter will be available for the Super Smash Bros. Wii U release. It will be both sold separately for $20 and in a bundle with the game and a new GCN controller for $100. (A new GCN controller will be $30 as well.)
  23. It seems to imply that, maybe, the increase of spiritual beings may have unlocked bending capabilities in some non-benders. Bending is one part spirituality and one part genetics. Bumi is a son of Aang, so while he has been a non-bender, he has technically carried airbender genes. If he ever had children, one of them could have been an airbender, though it would have been very unlikely. Now we see him protect himself with a bit of air, unless we assume maybe Earth Nation airbender kid saved him from the small projectile. But also we have an airbender villain. Seems the whole lot of elements will have a corresponding villain, including Combustion Girl, a.k.a. Sparky Sparky Boom Girl. Oh, and someone is lavabending. Something is definitely up because only Avatars have been seen lavabending, from the Unnamed Fire Nation Avatar (nicknamed Jafar) all the way to Aang. Why only Avatars? Because lavabending is a specialized mix of fire- and earthbending. EDIT: To add a little more, someone GIF'd good parts of the trailer. Imgur Gallery To illustrate my theory on Bumi, this has to be him directly behind his brother Tenzin.
  24. Gonna throw this out there. Nintendo sells refurbished Wii U 32GB Deluxe bundles (Nintendo Land) for $200. Looking at r/Games on Reddit and people have some good cost saving ideas for games. Primarily how you can price match Mario Kart 8 at Target with Amazon's current $48.80, do a pre-order to receive a $15 credit to any game over $40, do the free game promotion, receive credit because you have a Digital Deluxe capable Wii U.
  25. It's time to get hype for Legend of Korra Book Three "Change" is definitely happening in this Book. Just, there's so much YES to this trailer. Also, be careful if you're going to be looking for more Book 3 info. A few days ago there were actually leaked episodes... in Spanish, and translated back into English. Not the first episodes mind you, but like the middle of the Book.
