  1. Been motivated to post in the thread again after the news that Nick is going full retard by limiting Legend of Korra to online broadcast for the remaining episodes of Book 3. I don't believe we should be worried about Book 4 as it is being worked upon and Nick did pay for the final quarter of Legend of Korra. We'll find out more at Comic Con. I still don't receive Nick with my television lineup, but like I said before, I didn't notice before and after Legend of Korra finishes I won't give a care in the world. Nothing else has ever obtained my interest in many years from the channel, but with how Nick has been treating Legend of Korra, I honestly wish for them to suffer from their mistakes. I've had to watch Legend of Korra not on their website, but I've had to go watch a pretty good recording on a massively ad filled website where, without AdBlock, 40 ads would run and bog down the video playback. I love Book 3, and while I like Book 2, that part of Legend of Korra felt hollow at times where either the writing could get lazy, or some of our favorite characters were only half the person we grew to love in Book 1. The current episodes have been fantastic and we're getting to see some of the legacy from the previous Team Avatar. People are hoping to see an elderly Toph as everyone who talks about her refers to a present tense and not past tense. Korra is the first metalbending Avatar and we have NEW airbenders! It's all so wonderful, but I guess reruns of Spongebob bring the big cash money for Nickelodeon. EDIT: Proof of "various sites" for online airing of Book 3.
  2. The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 4 should change its title from "Amid the Ruins" to "Can't Win For Trying."

  3. The Flame Lizards of Dark Souls 2 are tougher enemies than The Old Ones. All for a Firedrake Stone...

  4. I forgot to register my new 3DS so I stayed at Gold status. NES Remix would have been my choice if I had Platinum, but I only have myself to blame for forgetting to add a little more coins. Guess I'll save it up for this new year as I don't think I'll be getting any new system. I still have my very first video game, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, so while it's special to me, I don't think I need it on 3DS. Never played Wario Land 2, so that might be what I get, though I'm not particularly ecstatic. Zelda II is the black sheep of the Zelda franchise and it has always been difficult for me to get through. I technically own it with the GCN collection, but I could have it on Wii U to try and muscle through it now. Who am I kidding, I wouldn't have the patience now.
  5. So I check up on Bleach each week out of curiosity more than actual enjoyment of reading the series. It's different than with Naruto where on some level I still like it, but at this point it really is about legacy and seeing it through to the end. Still need to see what the new One Piece is for the day. Anyway, just wanted to say that this week's chapter could have easily been mistaken for an erotic doujinshi. I wouldn't have expected reading an okama getting moist and someone jumping out of a pair of tits with a matching skin color body suit with custom boob socks.
  6. The Biggoron Sword wasn't too bad, just the time constraint nearing the end of the side quest because the tear drops had an expiration. Alex reminded me too how if you warped to the Fire Temple entrance to "shortcut" your way to the Giant Goron, it would determine how long it would have taken to get to that spot, so you would be practically out of time. The only time I ever bought a GamePro magazine was when they had a full walkthrough of the Triforce Shards in Wind Waker. I honestly think without that walkthrough I would have never beat Wind Waker. I only ever had a Player's Guide to Ocarina of Time because it was a reward for renewing my subscription to Nintendo Power. I got a strategy guide for Majora's Mask to help out with finding all the masks to unlock the Fierce Deity Mask.
  7. I should really get around to playing Fire Emblem: Awakening. It rarely goes on sale for a good price, and if it does it usually sells out fast. From what I can see from the trailer footage, Lucina does appear similar to Marth, though she might be like how Roy played in Melee. Slower, but with some power attacks. This is all an assumption, but we can see her use Counter in the big showoff with Ike and Marth. Her and Robin could be the middle ground characters for Fire Emblem, where Ike is heavy and Marth is the agile fighter. Also, Sakurai wanting to get some of that female demographic in Smash.
  8. Saw this on my Newsfeed and I'm not seeing the hype. It's a pseudo 16-bit indie title that probably doesn't play like Metroid, just some striking resemblance. If it plays well, I'll probably get it on PC, though I suppose my Vita could be hungry for more games.
  9. Damn Bell Tower is pissing me off in Dark Souls 2. Lost 13,000 souls because 2 overpowered grey spirits appeared before I could consider leaving for the moment.

  10. Normally there's nothing amiss to the Game Grumps, which are composed of Arin Hanson (Egoraptor) and Dan Avidan (Danny Sexbang of Ninja Sex Party). There's also Steam Train, a PC oriented form of Game Grumps which has Ross (RubberNinja) featured alongside Danny and/or Arin. There's also Barry, the longtime editor of both Game Grumps and Steam Train, who will appear on an occasional show of Steam Rolled. Same goes for Arin's wife, Suzy, but her alongside Barry have a show on Polaris' website called Table Flip that focus on tabletop games. When Game Grumps started, it was just Arin and Jon Jafari (JonTron). We didn't even really have an idea who Barry was at the time, and while technically Game Grumps has been a Lets Play, it felt more like two friends getting together to have fun playing video games. Fast forward to almost a year and there's a video called Ode to Jon where Jon explains he wants to go back exclusively to his show. It's so abrupt and Danny is already the replacement along with the announcement of a new show, Steam Train. Now that was all over a year ago and things did "normalize," but we were still left in the dark about the exact reasoning because while Jon wanted to do his show, he did have a few episodes of JonTron even while he was on Game Grumps. Not many mind you, but he still talked about working on his show. There were also the rumors that stuck around from the very moment he left, and I'll never forget the night a friend of Jon's girlfriend posted on the subreddit lambasting the entire community for the comments Jon's GF received for being a possible reason for his departure from Game Grumps and heading off to New York. Except no one on the subreddit knew what the hell she was talking about. Other rumors surfaced and etc, but the exact details of those I'm not 100% on as I don't frequent the subreddit all the time anymore. However, there was a recent controversy when Suzy copyright claimed a YouTube user's parody videos. She thought they were being monetized and so forth, so people jumped on her bandwagon. The Youtuber then gave his side of the story and you come to two possible conclusions: Suzy made a big-ass mistake, or she took his videos personally and wanted them down. Suzy went on to damage control, but people were still on her ass so she snapped a bit, slammed the virtual Internet door while saying something-something this place sucks. As for Jon's recent statement, read through here: Look through the comments to find video and some of the things I've talked about.
  11. I find it harder and harder to really watch Game Grumps as of late. I've actually begun to miss the Jon-Arin dynamic as it seems that over time Danny has become Arin's Yes Man. Don't get me wrong; Danny is my favorite, but I feel like his lack of gaming exposure is catching up with him. Then you have Jon's comment at SGC a few days ago where he states the worst part of his career has been the dishonest nature of his departure from Game Grumps. The fan base has this double standard I've seen, though at times I don't want to admit it because this is a show that has gotten people through tough times (at least what I've seen on the subreddit). Fans will go on about how the Grumps' lives are their own and we shouldn't bother trying to know the exact reasoning behind Jon's departure. Then the Grumps want the fans to do something, or go somewhere that isn't always Game Grumps related. Basically, if they ask us to do something, "Sure thing guys!" If we ask the Grumps something, well unless it's an AMA, "They're not your friends and they don't owe you anything!"
  12. Just gonna throw this out there, as really I don't have much investment in the topic, but lets not fool ourselves into thinking any one console has vast global appeal and is successful everywhere. i.e. The PS4 struggles in its own country of origin Most everyone here knows my own say in the matter on Nintendo's entity in the industry, but if not: I fear a day where Microsoft and Sony are our only hardware manufacturers. Nintendo going the way of Sega is not ideal, and each time I see a Sega title on an app store, I cringe to think people want the same for Mario. Is this really what we want?
  13. Friend impulse bought a PS4. I may have done the same thing too, but I've realized I ran out of room for more consoles.

I have my Dreamcast, Wii U and PS3 set up; anything more would be ignored outright. Hell, even 3 consoles may be too many.

I largely ignore my PS3 and 360 (and Wii U except every 9 months when a new game comes out), but my wife still uses them.

Was going to play my Dreamcast but I lost the remote for my CRTV and it doesn't have controls on the set... may need to tidy up here for a change.

  14. I would say TWD S1 > TWAU > TWD S2. The Wolf Among Us is a close second, but I think it's the one that most suffers from the episodic release schedule. As it still involves a murder mystery, it can be hard to remember the fine details of characters and what they've said in the past. A lot does change between episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2, but The Walking Dead has been the "cross the bridge" type of series where you don't have to always look back because the real problems are in front of you.
  15. TCP, I could criticize Sony more on their E3 conference, if you really wanted. But I really wanted to comment because I like how I can turn off the GamePad screen when I'm using a different controller. So, I don't see the big deal.
  16. Loving Dark Souls II (finally), but I still find myself wandering around at times lost wanting to progress.

  17. Eh, never been arrested, but have met with cops because of family and friends. People tell me it's because I'm white, but I've never been given a reason yet to hate cops. Never lived in a big city, so perhaps that's why, though I'm told a previous county sheriff was rather a douchebag. The friends that have had trouble with cops usually were involved in something that warranted law enforcement. I'm talking illegal substance abuse to attempted murder, so can't say I would have liked to been there to give a fair assessment.
  18. I really should replay some of the "recent" Legend of Zelda games again. To be honest, I've never been too eager to play Twilight Princess again, but I feel that half of the reason is because how it's now the "was actually good" part of the Modern Zelda Complex. If anything, I should replay Skyward Sword (the "it actually sucks" Zelda now) on Adventure as I never did so after finishing it. Or I could actually finish up Spirit Tracks as I just remember I left it alone right near the ending...
  19. Yeah, I prefer the second option, but even if it were true, the ending makes it all ominous and... Technically Crane is still around and perhaps he knows something else. He did seem to favor her when trying to spill the beans, but it could have been a coincidence. Honestly, we'll probably not understand the exact train of thought until Season 2 (which I hope will be a thing).
  20. Eh, about all that stuff... What has everyone's attention though is the ending. Like, it normally wouldn't seem like a cliffhanger, but... EDIT: Now there are a few theories, though most of them revolve around glamour. Bigby's true form is also simply badass. Nothing extreme, but pure legendary badass.
  21. Day off for the week and the final episode of The Wolf Among Us is here. Take me away Telltale Games and make me FEEL!

Oh, it's out? Cool. Guess it's time to play 4 and 5. Might do that tonight.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

I guess it's time to play 2-5. Though I wonder how much they can actually do in terms of emotion if you've already read Fables. The end of the first episode, for example, isn't the same for people who have read it.

  22. When Super Mario 3D World was the new hot Nintendo title, people were raving about the Captain Toad missions to where they thought Nintendo should make Captain Toad its own game. Nintendo listened and I think that's what has people excited, though truthfully I'm a little interested too. I saw some showroom footage of the lava dragon boss and it looks challenging given that Captain Toad doesn't jump.
  23. My first cellphone was an indestructible monochrome Nokia and it did two things: make phone calls and play Snake II.
  24. I had a Wishbone plush I got through a school book order. Honestly, seeing classical stories in live action with a dog as the lead character had this weird appeal to it. What's the story Wishbone? (Now I'm watching these old-ass TV themes this morning...)
  25. Many feel that Retro Studios made a proper transition into the 3D landscape for the Metroid series where exploration was the primary goal with interesting combat being an excellent positive rather than focus. It's one of those game trilogies where you could easily define it as atmospheric because of the focus on world exploration with varying environments and creatures that suit said environment. The first Prime always appeared to be the favorite of the bunch if we looked at the trilogy. On the other two, Echoes isn't always looked upon fondly depending on certain criticism, whereas Corruption seemed to sacrifice a bit of exploration for more combat, but had some interesting additions (like vocal dialogue).
