  1. Sure, and yeah I totally agree still on Nintendo's duty to third parties. But it's still a self-fulling prophecy in my mind's eye to hold out on a complete software title until others put forth their projects. If we're talking about developing something fresh right now, I'm with you. Of course, maybe if the software isn't suppose to be something memorable or revolutionary, then I can see why a company would hold off and rely on other companies to increase the install base.
  2. I wonder why he's wearing Gerudo gauntlets. Otherwise, it has a different vibe if you ask me. That glowing transforming arrow seems more at home in a random JRPG type setting. I think Nintendo did good, and like Sony, they personally gave me some "wow" moments. Maybe it's more that I'm surprised that they announced more than they recently have at past E3 conventions. Not to mention that most of it looks promising, but like everyone else its still a bunch of trailers.
  3. I'll double post, because I seriously did not think it would happen. We were definitely going to get fighter announcements, but very few people chose Lady Palutena. There was a rumor all the way back in January, but it wasn't very believable at the time. Just to make this a little longer, the Mii FIghter is a neat addition. I doubt it'll be a popular main, but like in Mario Kart it's a fun idea.
  4. Oh my, Bayonetta 1 included with Bayonetta 2. I already have it, but that's great news for Wii U.

Opinions TCP, opinions. I prefer Rayman Legends on Wii U for local multiplayer, and Super Mario 3D World is more than a console sequel like how New Super Mario Bros. Wii was to the originator on DS.

What about Smash Bros? How do you think the 3DS version of the game will affect Wuu version sales?

Devil's Third is a leftover turd from the previous console generation. I wish Smash Bros 3DS was coming sooner, but I've always thought more people will get the console Smash while definite fans of Smash Bros will get the 3DS game too.

  5. Transportable personalized character profile, but like Mali said, it's not really something needed unless we assume it's more of a hassle to pull up said profiles on other systems.
  6. Because essentially it comes off as a self-fulling prophecy. If other third parties have adopted this thought, the "why bother" mentality, to third party support, then of course their game would do poorly from lack of an install base, a base that is lacking in part because of the lack of third party support. So I'm imagining the Wii U is now some glorified middle school dance where third parties are awkwardly standing on one half of the gym whereas consumers are patiently waiting on the other half for one of those developers to ask them dance. I would never deny Nintendo's shaky relationship with third parties, but it's not a solid excuse either IMO.
  7. Dark Side of the Tomb Raider In the third game its revealed that Lara Croft has slowly gained enjoyment of killing people, whether they be good or evil. It is here where we must explore the tomb she has crafted, both physical and mental.
  8. This is the first E3 where I feel like no one failed, but at the same time I'm not really wowed by much. There's great stuff, but it all feels like everyone got together to show off their neat trailers. Sony at least announced specific hardware advancements, but again I don't see it as anything incredibly special. There's more to come and I'm sure floor impressions will make it all more unique, but a lot of it is like seeing a trailer for the sequel of next winter's big movie series. Of course, maybe if I cared for a few more series or developers, it would be very exciting.

  10. Wow, I completely forgot LittleBigPlanet was a thing for a moment.

LBPVita is the best of the series, count me excited for LBP3.

    3. Strangelove

      Strangelove

Yeah, I had given up on LBP(I liked it, but never thought it was that great) up until the Vita version. It's easily the best one. So yeah, LBP3 is now on the radar.

I thought that was a really fun reveal and demo. All their failures (which may be due to technical reasons, not skill) made the demo a lot more enjoyable. I was smiling the whole time.

  11. I assume some of us are keeping up with Attack on Titan? Pretty intense chapter, though one moment had me lost for words.
  12. I'll be working through most of Monday, but I'll be back for Sony's conference. It's the only one I care about for Monday. For some reason I have to go in earlier for Tuesday, so this E3 is going to be more so reading than watching what's new.

      "You mean it's coming out?!"

  13. We should make this the "Mario Kart" thread for the series. Namely because Mario Kart 8 has been out, and while I know only a few of us are playing it, thought it deserved a bit of attention. It tries a few things differently, like the method for unlocking characters and vehicle parts. The only character that is consistently unlocked in order is your Mii character slot. It'll always be the 8th unlocked character, but otherwise you'll be unlocking the rest at random, so it wasn't until Rosalina was part of my last three that I finally unlocked her along with the rest of the Koopa Kids. If you want to know more about character stats and the hidden stats for each weight class and vehicle part, I'd refer you to the Mario Wiki page for Mario Kart 8. The Highlight Reel stuff is good enough, though you're not going to be able to edit it extensively like a video editor. You get to focus on up to four players, what type of focus you want like "Everything," "Big Hits," and so forth. Then the duration and the option to upload to YouTube. Just selecting to share the Highlight to MiiVerse, as far as I've seen, only shares a single image. Otherwise, Online is a blast and you'll have a lot more memorable moments with real players. The way people use items versus how CPU karts use them is day and night.
  14. Ya'll need to watch how you talk about Nintendo. That's not a threat, it's a warning!
  15. Club Nintendo Coins expire after two Club Nintendo years, a.k.a. July 1 - June 30. It has been that way since I can remember joining Club Nintendo, circa December 2008. If you go into your account, they even detail your entire club activity. Once I was only 20 Coins away from Platinum status. If anything, if you can obtain an Elite Status, you'll get a reward. Otherwise, yeah there's not much in the rewards category now. Still, I just added a bunch of Coins this month, so I don't have to worry about this June 30.
  16. I'll keep mine really simple. Microsoft Comes up with some new service to prove they can be like old Xbox, but also do TV stuff. A bunch of Halo stuff Call of Duty exclusive stuff Remember, we're selling the Xbox One without a Kinect this month! Sony Here's a list of all our cool exclusives, but remember half of them have been delayed. Maybe we can show another clip of Kingdom Hearts 3? The Last Guardian title card pops up and someone explains it's still a thing. PlayStation Now demonstration Nintendo Super Smash Bros. 3DS release date for next month, while Wii U version gets like 5 characters announced. For the unlikely, Mewtwo makes a return and people make all kinds of fluids in their pants. New IP that people will downplay because it'll probably end up alright. Zelda stuff gets teased, but nothing more. Bayonetta 2 stuff happens as well because damn if people forgot that was a thing too. The Unlikely Gabe Newell shows off a Steambox, introducing us to the concept further, and the game he boots is Half-Life 3. All forms of social media and gaming outlets crash from the onslaught of reaction, coverage, and traffic. Final Fantasy XV No one will embarrass themselves .
  17. Whatever the original sales number were, after Mario Kart 8... UK Wii U hardware sales boosted by 666%. The Mario Kart 8 bundle accounted for 82% of the Wii U weekly sale. I imagine some bought a Basic Set for Mario Kart 8 as well, though the bundle is a great deal.
  18. When the full roster was revealed before launch, it definitely disappointed me. I mean, I'll still play Luigi and Daisy as my second, though Rosalina might take her place. I guess I should look more into the stats, but for most of the single player it doesn't matter. It's assumed the lack of battle arenas could be a sign that Mario Kart 8 was rushed out for launch. I could see a death race style battle mode being a thing, but that's all we really have now. It's not a big loss for me as I haven't cared for it since the days of Double Dash, but there's still those who do. I've only played, like, two hours so far, but while there's great detail in what's there, it all feels simplified. It comes off like Nintendo knew Mario Kart would purely be a multiplayer game, so the basics are in there with little charm. Otherwise I'm still loving it. I didn't give Mario Kart 7 enough attention, but this time Mario Kart 8 is going to be a revival of my old karting spirit. (As for N64 Rainbow Road, it was an exploit and not a true shortcut. Recovery for falling off has been reduced, so this isn't the type of game where you'll fall through track maps. We might find other glitches or exploits in tracks, but for now I think these tracks should be enjoyed fully.)
  19. Tomorrow is Mario Kart 8. I've had it since launch, but life has its moments when you find yourself going to bed at 8:00 pm only to awaken for more work.

  20. I hope you've all kept your GameCube controllers. Why? GCN Controller Adapter for Wii U! The one thing I was unsure of was if I could get use to the Pro controller for SSB Wii U. Seems I don't have to worry, and neither would my friends get stuck with a Wiimote. You know, this might be a good chance for Nintendo to finally offer "GameCube Classics" on the Wii U.
  21. Cloning and installing SSD was a success! I didn't have an extra cable to connect the HDD back up, so it's sitting inside for the moment.

  22. I've seen people discussing other characters, especially Midna in her original form, but there's a difference in that most of the characters either had subtle nudity or had a sensible sexuality to them. Keep in mind characters like Veran and Twinrova were 99.99% seen in-game much differently than their illustrated counterpart. Twinrova would definitely be the closest evidence, but then you have to acknowledge all the Gerudo who wear similar outfits due to their desert homeland. I'm not disgusted, offended, or any other negative attribute, just a bit surprised at the amount of boobage one of the antagonists displays on a battlefield. Team Ninja is involved however, so it comes with the territory, and Shia's motive seems rather tame compared to pretty much every villain in the Zelda franchise. For those who don't know, Shia is suppose to have been a guardian of the Triforce, but fell to darkness because of her jealousy of Zelda. Was it Zelda's power, authority, or beauty? Nah, Shia wants Link to be her's and doesn't like Zelda having Link be her boy toy hero.
  23. As much as I want to tell myself it's foliage, as a kid, it always looked like she had a skin condition. No amount of eye makeup and hi-top boots will hide it, Great Fairy!
