  1. Sony has been putting out "Evolution of PlayStation" videos for each of their consoles, so you know what, I'm 100% on a PS4 reveal on the 20th. I honestly don't see what else you would go into by going over all your previous consoles.

+1 for TN. The new store continues to be horrible, slow, and impossible to find anything... I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO "SEARCH" FOR SKYRIM DLC THE DAY NEW SKYRIM DLC FINALLY COMES OUT. THAT'S STUPID! DO YOU NOW UNDERSTAND HOW STUPID THAT IS, SONY!? THE LAST STORE WAS EFFICIENT AND EASY TO BROWSE. THIS IS NOT PROGRESS!!!! FUCK!!!

The funny thing is, if you go to redeem a code through the XMB or in-game, it gives you the old layout. The only good thing about the new store is being able to enter 12 digits at once.

  2. Looks like it has a gloss finish rather than a matte finish like on touch pads. Would having a one inch touch pad have any real technical use? Not arguing whether it is or not, though this all could be false, or a rough dev prototype. The thing is (or how I see it), the Vita has a much larger touch pad, and what controls I've seen for the Vita's touch pad make sense in that your control of the pad represents a significant effect on another screen of roughly the same size. For console games, what could be done? If it did alter something displayed on the television, wouldn't it be rather "touchy" given a little movement on a small pad could represent drastic change on a much larger screen? Or would it require multiple strokes to counteract the size difference to give more precision. EDIT: Basically, where I'm getting at is that while we might have a new technology in/on a controller, of what practical use will it ensure? All DualShock 3 controllers have SixAxis technology, but when was the last time that has been a significant feature for PS3 games? And I realize most of my post is filled with questions, but these are the thoughts coming to mind when I see this controller and read all the "leaked" information.
  3. I don't know what's planned for the screen given how small it is. other than being allowed to quick select options like Trophies, Friends, and PSN. I like this idea for a controller... but the battery life would be absolutely terrible, unless Sony has some sorcery in their R&D department. I prefer the DualShock 3 over the 360 controller, maybe because I'm a sucker for symmetry. Though, I do like the improvement on Sony's directional buttons as it's more of a pad now. Well, at least in this version of the controller because I'm sure it'll change later.
  4. I swear, if I can maintain a decent budget, I would happily be an ambassador.
  5. Finally got around to finishing Dead Space 3 (though I probably spent 3 hours in crafting), and while you could say the final boss is epic, the ending just... happened, and not much else besides the secret message. Perhaps the "Awakened" DLC will add more to "it."

  6. I feel they put more care into University, considering some of the viral marketing that has been done, so it has to be better than Cars 2. Brave was suppose to be impressive, but lacked that Pixar charm and was really limited to a few scenes and an alright plot. So yeah, the trailer is already a league above the past two movies.
  7. If you just wanted the 3rd game of the collection, they are separate on PlayStation Network last I checked. It's been that way for a few other collections too.
  8. I work early in the morning, but for about a week I've gotten my father into watching The Last Airbender on Nicktoons at night. I'm glad I could show him something else to watch besides cooking channels.

  9. Got a "Like New" copy of Minish Cap w/ manual for $20, but watch, in the next three months Nintendo will finally put GBA games on the 3DS. It happened with Metroid II (for me), I'm sure it'll happen again.

  10. As a big tip to anyone still on Dead Space 3, manual reloading should be used sparingly! I keep forgetting that each time you reload, a clip of universal ammo is used. Basically, if you have 20 clips, that's 20 reloads PERIOD! No more "I shot twice, RELOAD!"

It doesnt really matter. Theres so much ammo in the game that it might as well be infinite.

hnnghohmygod. I'm one of those compulsive reloaders. Killed an enemy in 3 shots? BETTER RELOAD SO I CAN SPRAY IF I SEE ANOTHER ONE.

There are times though Strange that I only received materials off of necromorphs. Before it was like, "Yeah, I got 36 clips so I should be good." Then I face a horde in the an optional mission and I find I only have four clips because I kept reloading at 2/3 full.

  11. I believe the intention was respawning materials, but the hindsight is that a few areas can be farmed with little effort. The game is designed around checkpoints, so "save and quit" and you'll go back to the last checkpoint, but have all the materials you collected from last time because your inventory is saved. Honestly, I'm not making a lot of weapons. Even when you get the weapons everyone gets (because it's still the limited edition), they're slightly better variants of the standard models. I made an entirely different weapon with a limited edition part, but everything else is the standard weapon parts you can craft. Considering I'm a Dead Space veteran, I've been able to find almost all the upgrade chips so far. My secondary melee weapon is a beast, even on Hard difficulty.
  12. Honestly there's no need for buying materials, but I'm starting to suspect that RIG stations were put far and few so anyone who wants to upgrade, but previously spent materials on crafting items and is running a little low, will be tempted to buy to make an upgrade or two. Right now, I passed a RIG station two chapters ago and barely had materials to make even the first health upgrade because I used them for some ammo clips and small health packs. EDIT: But as a heads up, you will come along moments like in the video. Don't forget, like in the last two games, to stomp an item out of a dead necromorph! If you leave rooms, those corpses will probably disappear when you enter again.
  13. Tell me I'm close to a RIG booth/station! I've only encountered two, very close to each other and I'm in the middle of Chapter 6. Hard difficulty wasn't so bad until I've been faced with small rooms and those pukers.

I'm interested to learn the lore, but not interested enough to spend 15-20 hours on it when the game doesn't seem that exciting. =\

Well, the ice planet we were on in the game is suppose to be the source of the energy all the markers receive, and I'm still on 200 colonial ships.

And the enemy types have received an overhaul, though obviously it must be for how old these monsters are since these were some of the first outbreaks.

  14. I had a realistic, then depressing dream this morning. Lately I've been trying to get a few GBA games I missed out on as a teen, like Minish Cap, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand. I was in an eBay auction since last night and it was going to end at 10 am this morning. It had eveything and was going real cheap, but sadly I knew I wouldn't have the winning bid for the next eight hours. I thought I woke up to place the winning bid... but I dreamt it. When I really woke up an hour after the auction (hey, I didn't sleep well), I saw someone else won it for $16. Not the end of the world or anything, but then I fell back to sleep for about 20 minutes, and in that time I had another dream. I was at my grandma's house, and she was trying to get rid of all this junk in storage. Supposedly my distance cousins left all their SNES and Game Boy games and had a vast collection. I was amazed at how much had been hiddened away. Then I woke up and began thinking I really must regret ever trading in so many games from my childhood.
  15. There is a silver (Satin Silver) controller, but I think it must have been discontinued so on Amazon you have a few sellers selling at a fairly standard retail price.
  16. Far Cry 3 Maybe could have done a few more trophies, but I got some of the major ones and went past the "point of no return" to experience, well, what I thought was an obvious twist and ended up with a room full of dead guys after a knife fight. The helicopter bit was cool, except for when pirates would shoot off RPGs before I could even aim at them. I type this as I'm letting the credits roll. I fear if I skip them, I might also miss something afterwards. Anyway, had some glitches, some missions were difficult only in a technical way, but I felt satisfied with how I always used a lot of the items at my disposal. Actually, mines sucked and I always had so much money because I mostly used free awesome weapons. But the bow was really good thanks to the special arrows. Forget an RPG, just use explosive arrows. I tried to go for "Kill 50 enemies with flamethrower" but I must have come up a little short. I got to the point where I had enough experience, so I rushed the last five outposts... but I didn't want any reinforcements because you might get a helicopter and be out of projectile explosives.
  17. I lost my phone in my own home, waited for family memeber to call said phone, was told I could have used the home phone, face palmed for my own stupidity, then marveled at how my phone was trapped in the mechanism of the recliner chair I had been sitting on.

Indeed. Good to know next time I lose my phone. I would never have ever even thought to look for an app like that.

Apple Marketing sucks if you don't know "there's an app for that".

  18. In the demo there were only jump scares and in all honesty it doesn't take much to frighten someone as it does to horrify. Though, I would say that in Dead Space 2 when you had to return to the Ishimura, it was one of the few times I've felt dread in progressing in a video game. You were not going to have a good time, and Issac's mind was definitely not going to leave you alone.
  19. Got my AmazonBasics USB 2.0 extension cable and now charging while playing will be less, "Don't lean back too far!"

  20. Yes, but I didn't finish it because I get easily distracted from playing handheld games. I did get near to the end, very near. Still, I think this generation has taught me I'm just not into handhelds anymore. There's a lot to it, but the maps are tiny compared to the console game. Mainly, you get the opportunity to do a lot of character side missions that will improve said character and develop their story. It is an academy setting, with your shonen type protagonist, genius by-the-book rival classmate, and the sweet and sensitive female to round it out. As for the first game, I absolutely love it and everyone should finish it. Everyone has trouble with the tank mission, but once you get through it, it's never like you're starring down a brick wall. Basically, take a look in our Valkyria Chronicles thread from yore, you might also see how Scouts can give you the highest rank. (Only downside to it was that # of turns = Higher Rank)
  21. In time you learn that everyone is nutcase, but what makes it special is the kind of nuts that make up ISIS. I think the only one you could consider normal is Brett, a.k.a. the bullet magnet.
  22. Enjoyed that Half-time Show, but probably not as much as the people who fought over Beyonce's jacket.

  23. There's one that does reduce fall damage, which I have, but I imagine the perk allows me to regenerate to full health rather than going pass a full slot.
  24. Hotel Transylvania I always wanted to see it at theaters, but never did. Father wanted to buy it, kept forgetting so I bought it as a way of saying, "I eat your food and sleep for free, so here." Got it cheap, and not to say glad, but I doubt I'm going to watch this movie again. Trust me, it could have been a lot worse with all the troubles it went through, but at the same time it's not really going to be considered a classic. If there where NO songs, and if Adam Sandler could emote better as a frantic emotional father, it would be better. Really, I don't need that much intentional auto-tune in one sitting. On an unrelated note: Still can't stand watching movies with the parents.
  25. I wonder if they're concern about the type of elements that work in a handheld system transferring over into a more expansive console experience. Don't forget that we have have some Pokemon console games (not counting Stadium 1 & 2). Those however were restricted to certain types of pokemon caught and battling was more focused on adventure than the RPG elements of Pokemon.
