  1. Eh, I'm half n' half on this still. Sure there's the Wall Street Journal bit, and it has been over the 5 year mark where new consoles usually show their face. There is some talk that you can see some "4" shapes/lines, but that could always be a result of whatever effects that were loaded into the small clip. Anyway, there's got to be more to this than them simply saying there's this new console. The supposed dev kits that were given out? We have to see something next-gen.
  2. Alright, I'm probably going to find the answer after some digging, but is there a way to make jumps and NOT take damage? I decided to quit in the middle of that ancient underground fortress mission, but what I did play of it had me losing my upper most health slot because jumping to another platform caused damage. I get the sense that those behind the game wanted some sort of survival realism, but I truly favor a shooter where I can at least do standard jumps without consequences.
  3. Oh boy, I finally got to play some Anarchy Reigns online. I'm thinking that even though it has been around a month since its release, the community has gone down a fair bit. I was worried at first when the first few matches I (finally) got had a majority of turtles, a.k.a. block, block, block, evade, block, evade, block, block, evade, RUN!

  4. I doubt it's actually the new console. Just my opinion and all, but I don't see Sony making an announcement to announce such a significant step in the brand. Considering that they did something like live action segments for one video game, it might be about some new features coming to the PlayStation platform. Then again I could be wrong and Sony wants to dazzle us so at each convention attendees are flocking to their press conference with baited breath on the new system.
  5. Never had a problem with sharks. Deers were a pain because you kill one and all of them go off in different directions. Then after chasing down another for its skin, you've forgotten where that other dead animal was (or maybe it slide off a cliff). Anyway, I've got almost every expansion with the exception of the Man Eater Shark. I haven't unlocked that side mission yet, but killing the black leopard with an arrow was the hardest thing I've done in the game so far. Even with that syringe animal killing boost it took three arrows if they didn't hit the head.
  6. Yeah if any of my roommates actually wanted advice, I would give my piece about whatever was going on in their life. It only ever got too much when one of them was beginning to ask me about every life choice he thought I should know about. Quite frankly, choosing someone's next major for them was beyond my scope.
  7. I've learned to save after crafting items. After dying to only have lost my heavy mutition expansion since I happened upon a bear chasing a pig...

Thankfully the few games where I craft armor tend to save in some shape or form automatically such as Monster Hunter and Skyrim

      Animal Crossing, right?

      What game!? I must know!

  8. A possible discounted price with a new Ambassador Program?
  9. I was worried at first that I couldn't see any content unless through "New Content." I imagine the forum is still under some changes?

That'd be the glitch I just mentioned to Ethan. Functionality should currently be fine. Cosmetically the sub-forum icons and the "Add New Topic" tab will be gone for a bit.

  10. PSN has those Ultimate Bundles for 50% off, but it's six games with half being the Ezio's trilogy games. However, I mention this because Prince of Persia '08 (with Epilogue DLC) is there for $15! Far Cry 2 is there, but I think I'm content with playing 3 and moving on to another series.
  11. What would you call it then when someone can find remnant files of a DLC character in the core game? A slobby job? Is it an issue of having to insert any or all possible add-ons with a path in the system files? I don't program, not one bit, but why would that be necessary? DLC is handled differently, no doubt. My concern for a while is how often is DLC simply, "Hey, see this stuff here? Maybe this could sell if we made it separate?" How tough could it be if sometimes these items are a few hundred kilobytes?
  12. I caught up to the last two episodes. Episode 10: Episode 11:
  13. Bayonetta is $20 on PSN. Great deal, but how do you guy feel about digital retail games on consoles? I mean, when my original PS3 died (for good), I had to redownload some games. If I have a disc, nothing has to be done.

Yeah, I'm more concerned about HDD space too. I've only got 120 GB, and I can't bring myself to spend the money to upgrade when there's a decent chance I'll be getting a PS4 in the next year or two.

Wasn't there rumours awhile back that the PS4 wouldn't be able to play retail PS3 discs but would be able to play digital downloads? After PS Vita's lack of UMD transfer program, I feel a little safer with downloads but I still purchase most new games retails, for now.

I got "lucky" when my laptop was destroyed and the only salvageable thing was the hard drive. Got to back up all my files AND upgrade my PS3

  14. On PlayStation Plus, I think they're being smart about what games go free, and technically we can't keep them forever because eventually a subscription will run out. It's very likely the service will carry over to the next console, but are we going to care about having Darksiders or SSFIV: Arcade Edition when we have a PS6 with more new series or sequels? As for content being developed and removed, and then sold later, I use to subscribe to the same thought Thursday. Hey, if you think you're getting the value out of your game, why should you be upset? Maybe people can get use to having seven slices of their pizza where the final slice was removed and can be sold if they're still hungry? If we want to get into Javik, looking in the Mass Effect thread at how the community here reacted when it was a brand spanking new topic would be better. However, I will say there's a difference between content developed alongside at a latter stage of the main development process (Borderlands 2's Mechromancer) and where specific assets built-in are bundled and sold as a separate package. Personally, I prefer the former to the latter option if other projects must absolutely be financed.
  15. Everyone makes their skins DLC? There's no modern games with unlockable skins? You're saying it is that widespread of a problem? Did Gearbox make a boo-boo when they released new skins for Borderlands 2 last week? They needed to get into a time machine and put that into the game before launch, right? Add four more skins and heads per class to the already massive 86~ (per class) collection available after unlocking through Badass Challenges, Story, and Side Quests. Once we got online network stores, that was the reason content began to be sold for games. If we had such connectivity over a decade ago, this would have happened no matter the circumstances. Imagine having bought extra multiplayer levels for Goldeneye 007. There's nothing inherently wrong with buying extra content, but we do have to be aware of what is being sold to us. Am I actually buying new content, or was it withheld from me to a certain point and for a fee? *cough* Javik
  16. Skins are not vital to the game, but are in all aspects eye candy for the player. Now if it was something like, "Hey, pre-order and receive the unlock key to all the costumes in-game," I would agree that it would be terrible. I do wonder if this could be the particular case if all the skins for Revengeance are already available for UK copies. Of course, it could be like Arkham City's skins where other countries are more fortunate because of their retailers.
  17. Got Hyrule Historia, from Amazon, a day before its release. Day Before Release shipping?

Are you in Canada, FDS? I always assumed you were in California, for some reason.

Hey FDS quit trying to be Canadian.

  18. So how about people who want a game on Release Date from Amazon, but to do that you essentially have to pre-order the game, and thus you will receive the bonus associated with pre-ordering (if there is one at all)? That's why I said it is impossible. Many times bonuses are merely perceived as rewards for being someone who purchases games on Day One. Yeah, it sucks to sit back and let the opportunity pass, but the important thing is that most of the time the games are still fun and playable without those bonuses. An issue arises when you can receive bonuses/items that could put you at an unfair advantage competitively or make unlocking content easier. That's why recently Bioshock Infinite's new pre-order content has been getting some flack.
  19. I'm one of "those guys" as you mentioned earlier taking part in this perceived bad trend that you have the obvious solution. You can indentify these things as you see fit, bad or good, but don't label others as part of the problem where there is blame to be handed out by you. Lord knows most of us have had pre-order bonuses sometime ever.
  20. Reasonable? Try impossible and unlikely. There's no blame, but whatever makes you feel superior for buying things the way you buy them.
  21. Or you can have both, i.e. DmC Devil May Cry. I could settle for the skins I've already unlocked, or this Tuesday (1/29) I could pay $4 for three new skins. Will I? No. Why? Because I can spend $4 on better digital items. Now, if you're really upset by this, you have three options: Fly out to Japan and speak to the proper representative at Platinum Games about how they made five unique skins for the express purpose of promotional material and how this is very wrong. Go back in time to roughly 10 years ago (or earlier) and assassinate those behind the concept of "get cool stuff for a day one purchase" as it use to be known. Not give a damn and wait for the practice to alter drastically as all content becomes digitally distributed by console manufacturers and their respective e-commerce stores.
  22. Yeah, but then you have to find said animal. While I first found them fine, I was also fighting off enemies. After dealing with three vehicles, it was like the goats just left the island because even with Hunter's Instinct they had completely vanished. Kept finding tons of rabid dogs, but finally I found three goats walking under a cliff. I may have to just kill animals as I see them rather than if I actually need them currently.
  23. Began the game last night. The most challenging aspect so far was finding a goat to gain another weapon slot. Considering I'm given grenades, molotavs, C4, and mines early on, I can't feel that helpless when a jeep of enemies spot me.
  24. You don't have to purchase anything; having the money and/or time later is more important than having something like a skin. Yeah, I could get some cool bonus stuff for a game I definitely want, but I'm not going to put the cart before the horse if it means blowing $60 when I could (if not should) save it for later. Then again, I'm "that guy" who doesn't know the proper method of consuming as a consumer. EDIT: And so to contribute to the discussion of this game, if any of you saw the white cat on the beach, you may have not thought anything of it. If you actually tried to slice it...
  25. Back home, better Internet, better job, ready to play Anarchy Reigns online. (Advent and SixFour I presume)

      「Advent Chaos」

HOOOH YEAH! I'm mostly available late nights, but hey let's do this!
