I'm actually working on quite a few games at once, actually. Last night I got some time in with Kirby: Epic Yarn. My Gameboy Color time is spent with Zelda: Oracle of Ages (I'm debating on hunting down Oracle of Seasons) and my GBA time is spent with Sonic Advance 2.

I stopped at a yard sale today and there was a DS Lite. I talked them down to $25 because it didn't have an AC adapter. But it works fine. It came with Pokemon Ruby and Leaf Green. I'm going to swap out the casing since it's a bit dirty and scratched.

I already sold the Pokemon games so I can ship those out Tuesday (I have to solder a new battery in this weekend) so essentially I got a DS for $10 (after selling the carts and buying the replacement case and charger)

One thing I like about ordering from the UK is that the VAT is essentially the shipping charge since they take that shit off when exporting.

Okay I did well at work this week so I decided to treat myself to a few British DVDs I've had my eye on for a while. and ... I almost bought the Blu-Ray set but it was 5 times more expensive (25GBP vs 5GBP for the DVD) and the Blu-Ray is region locked and I don't have a region free Blu-Ray player ... yet. ;-)

You know, even with my backlog several dirt cheap GBA games are catching my eye. A Gamecube, with a Gameboy player (and a knockoff classic controller with a GC port) is perhaps the best value in gaming out there.

I can't put my finger on it. Maybe because they are hinting that the Doctor and her get married later on (which in itself isn't horrible as he already had a granddaughter for crying out loud) but there's something that just makes me gag whenever her curly mop head shows up on the screen.

I just finished series 5 and while I liked the idea of all the baddies ganging up to defeat the Doctor, I really REALLY hate the character of River Song. Can we delete her yet? Of course, I'm the guy who thinks the William Hartnel episodes are worth watching.

I ended up reading my book. When the sun is that bright the screen is just glare. Ahh GBA, you are a great system but you have your faults. I wish the DS played GB/GBC carts.

Okay this is a bit sad but the other night I just beat for the very first time in my life ... (Mike Tyson's) Punch-Out I can get all the way to Mike Tyson/Mr Dream without getting knocked on my ass once and yet I could never seem to beat old Iron Mike. FWIW I beat the re-release version which is what I bought new at Kay-Bee for like $5 years ago. So this year I've beaten three games: Bayonetta Thunder and Lightning Punch-Out. I blame this short list on watching a lot of silent movies, reading instead of gaming on my lunch breaks, my fiancee not playing Pokemon Black and White with me (and her hogging the PS3 for FF13) and quite frankly a relative meh feeling about playing video games in general lately.

Heart disease, diabetus, fat kids etc. The whole program makes me sick. Of course we should eat healthier (I lost 75 lbs eating healthier and exercising) but that's the responsibility of the individual or the parent; not some bureaucrat in a far distant capital.

Hardly! Who decided that they are our parents or our benevolent care-givers? Let people take care of themselves, for once instead of being coddled by the long arm of the state. Washington shouldn't care what I eat or consume. Now they want to ban potatoes in school, POTATOES! It's pure madness!
