Amherst is a bit odd what with the UMass / Amherst College crowd. Massachusetts is weird, isn't it?

I had to switch to diet. I was that weak I couldn't go cold turkey.

I always thought the PS1 version was better: Great song, too.

Fixed it for you. ;-) You know where the Genesis did win at the time: Sports games.

See I can't imagine doing that. I guess that's why I don't own pets.

I hope your basement doesn't flood.

I dreamed that I was riding on an ice cream donkey with none other than Mr Dean Martin! And even though the donkey melted outside of walnut city, Dean didn't care; cause that's just the kind of man he was.

When you saw this, you just knew you were headed for Awesome Town: Population Low G Man!! Also, obligatory:

I went to Target and got a soft pretzel. Dang those are yummy! Target is my favorite lunch spot!

We had a whole sermon in church this year on Halloween. Personally I'm against celebrating it because it's stupid and encourages kids to eat candy. /getoffmylawn

I don't do resolutions but I do have goals. In 2010 I paid off my student loans and became debt free. I moved out of my parents' home after living there 27 years. I *mostly* maintained my weight though since October I've gained at least 5 lbs. I proposed to my fiancee and she didn't laugh in my face so I'd say 2010 was a pretty good year for me. :-) So my 2011 goals are: Make myself more valuable at work Start a RothIRA with the misses Get married! Save up as much money for the wedding/honeymoon as possible Find a second income or sell a bunch of my unwanted stuff to achieve the goals above Get a good plan in place for more permanent housing.

I need to finish Eternal Sonata. I'm pretty close to the end but it's always been the "Well I guess I can play Eternal Sonata until a better game comes along" kind of game. Very meh and I love Bamco's JRPGs. I raged at the longest death scene in history. Seriously, Hamlet ain't got nothing on Eternal Sonata. Anyway, I'm going to be starting a new game tonight and I think I will be diving into Super Paper Mario. I want to start Record of Agarest War but I know I won't have the time to put into it to actually give it a good play though. Tales of Vesperia is a higher priority anyway.

Yeah, well I'd say that Halo is just junk but that's just my snobbery speaking. Yeah, the original XBox is not old school. I still play a few original Xbox games on my 360 so I just consider them last gen. Too bad the 360 wasn't 100% backwards compatible. :-(

The place: the local grocery store. The machine: An NES Play Choice 10. I had a quarter from someone/somewhere and my mom would NEVER let me play the arcade machine. This time, I was with my dad and he let me play. My first game was: Super Mario Bros. Yep, same as everyone else. I later started playing Elevator Action and Pole Position at the local roller skating rink. In school I remember playing a game on the Apple ][ where these animals would get scrambled and you had to put them back together. I have no idea what this game was called but it was fun. I never owned a video game (outside of the Tiger electronic games) until I was about 13/14 when my dad allowed me to buy an NES at a garage sale for $5. It came with two carts: Mario/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet and Contra. A week or two before someone had given us a box of stuff left over from an estate sale. In that box was a bunch of NES games. After we got the NES hooked up I went through every game trying to get them to work. I had yet to learn about cleaning games or even the NES blow in the cart trick. I was able to get one game going and my siblings and I played it for hours that night ...

The fiancee made pork chops and rice for dinner. OH MY GOSH they were delicious!!!

I think you're supposed to post your picture in the "Post your picture" thread so people can go "ZOMG you're a girl and SO HOT!!! We must live in the same area so we should date" Oh wait, that's the old forum. Anyway, what was the point of Ecco? I never really understood what I was supposed to do that made it fun.

The other day I saw someone in front of me cash in $100 in winnings on a lottery ticket. They bought a coffee and the rest was spent on more tickets. ~_~ Be nice to the people serving you and they will be nice back. It always annoys me when people are such asshats to someone not being paid enough to deal with losers all day.

I just came across this Console War commercial ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rql8VajqJfw Sega trashes Mario Kart by promoting Ecco the Dolphin. Yes, that abomination of a video game. Ecco is the game that people claimed to have liked but no one really did. They were all, "Oh yeah, I got effing Ecco" but they never actually played it. When they did play it the game became nothing more than "Let's see how high we can make the dolphin jump." Mario Kart, on the other hand, is still a timeless classic.

I remember playing it in Sears on the demo units (one of the few times I got to play current video games as a kid) On the other hand, Toy Story on the Genesis is an abomination that should have all copies destroyed in a fiery pit of flames!

A lot of people, like my household, owned no videogames because they were so damn expensive. $80 in 1990 dollars is $129.66 in 2009 dollars according to this Inflation calculator. I only paid $100 for my brand new 360 Arcade a few months ago! I made up for it on the used market, though. One thing I did notice was that SNES games were hard to come by at yard sales while Genesis games were a dime a dozen (I'm talking late 90s era here.) So while the Genesis had some awesome games, people didn't hold onto them as strongly as the SNES ones. On the other hand there are some games that make a Genesis a must own console: Ms Pac-Man (IMO the best version of the game) Aladdin The Lion King Cool Spot and probably a few others I'm forgetting. Most of the great Sega games are on a million collections but Disney needs to get on the ball and just start rereleasing the old classics. No luck for Cool Spot, though. :-(

Licensed Games That Make No Damn Sense
Battra92 replied to Mister Jack's topic in General Gaming Chat
That was the one FPS my mom didn't seem to have a problem with. Great Doom clone, though. Hell, I think it used the Doom engine. -
Cumberland Farms: A great place to eat and get gas.

I kind of wish we had a cafeteria at work. Instead I have to trudge out in the snow and drive a ways to get a sandwich from a local gas station.

*Epic facepalm* I so did not notice that because I have a script that gets rid of all those stupid overlays.
