Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)
TheMightyEthan replied to Can's topic in Entertainment Exchange
Dany is an accepted short form of her name. -
http://www.retroist.com/2010/11/08/1978-style-star-wars-spoilers/ Yeah he said it would be in the third movie, and mentioned a Star Wars 4, but he also said it's revealed in the midst of a lightsaber battle between the two. Hardly seems like just a coincidence, more like minor script changes.

Also leaking both that Darth Vader was Luke's dad and that Darth Vader died in Jedi.
-
Exit polls are showing 54%/46% in favor of stay. Though obviously that outcome's not guaranteed. Yeah, having more than two choices is so nice. Wait...
-
Just to lock in the low price, in case it goes up. But beyond that I don't actually care to preorder it earlier than like a day before release.
-
Hmm, didn't realize they do preorders. Do they charge immediately or do they wait till it's delivered? @Dean: Yeah I didn't feel like we were shouting either, but sometimes other people think I come across as more aggressive/hostile than I intend so I just went with it.
-
As much as I loved them as a kid, I don't think the sonic games were ever good. Except Generations.
-
In our defense we had a perfectly friendly parallel exchange about whether I should preorder Mankind Divided with GMG's current 23% off voucher.
-
You mean the Democratic representatives, not the senators.

Dean is our resident Spaniard.

Or for the sake of playing.

Welcome! Look around, we have several platform-specific boards with some general topics and game-specific threads, as well as a board for general game chat and a few off-topic boards. I promise we don't bite!

I just want to add that I absolutely love the term "electronic persons".
-
There's a proposal in the European Parliament's committee on legal affairs to establish a legal framework for "electronic persons" http://www.reuters.com/article/us-europe-robotics-lawmaking-idUSKCN0Z72AY?utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&utm_content=576996e504d3010bc51b5ca3&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter Seems pretty ridiculous at first, but from reading the article it seems like really the point is establishing things like who is responsible when a robot goes haywire and hurts someone or causes property damage. Obviously that's going to be an issue for self-driving cars, this would just be broader so it would cover robots in all kinds of situations. There's also stuff like potentially requiring companies to pay in social security for their robots too, not to benefit the robots but because of concern that work will become progressively harder for humans to obtain and they need a social safety net.

Rock is OP. Have you tried switching to paper? No, I main scissors. Not directed at anyone in here, the thing with Bastion just made me think of it.
-
That's intense.
-
Yeah, I can see that, although where are you resting your forearm? The edge of the desk seems like the most natural place, but then obviously that's going to dig into your arm really bad.
-
That sounds exhausting...

There's too much latency even on PSTV with hardwired LAN. There's too much latency if I connect directly to the PS4 without going through my network. Digital Foundry tested it and the encoding by itself, without any network delay, adds about 100ms of latency between input and seeing the results when playing remotely.
-
Yeah, same room pretty much, or directly on the other side of the wall from the console. It's inconvenient, but for most of the games I play the Vita's too latency-y so the extra range doesn't really help. Though it was super cool to be able to play DA:I on my Vita from my parents' house.
-
Vita remote play has too much latency for my tastes, at least for any game that's even remotely action oriented. It's fine if that's all that's available, but the Wii U's works so much better. You're right though, the screen is pretty bad.
-
The one thing I'll say for the Wii U is that offscreen play can come in damn handy. If it hadn't been so underpowered and had actually gotten multiplats it probably would have been my main console this gen for that reason alone.

Hmm, this post was sitting on my work computer when I got back this morning, guess it's been sitting there all weekend: I've instituted a 2-out-1-in rule for my backlog, and replaying an old game counts as the "1 in" (I just replayed Dishonored, but I'm still wanting to hit the DLC, plus DXHR, plus Skyward Sword). I'm tackling all the PC games I've built up since I was holding off until I got a new graphics card. First up on the list is Dragon Commander. I'm only about an hour into it, but so far so awesome. I was expecting it to be focused more around the battles, but really it seems like the political stuff in the ship is going to be the main hook for me. It was a pleasant surprise though. I'll have more thoughts once I've spent more time on it. I think once I finish this one I'm going to tackle Shadowrun Returns. -End Original Post- I actually finished Dragon Commander over the weekend and started Shadowrun Returns. Dragon Commander I talked a little bit about in the Games You've Beat thread. Shadowrun is starting off nicely too, although so far I've spent about as much time in the character creator as I have actually playing.

I said from the day I bought a Wii U that I'll be happy as long as I get a Zelda out of it and a sequel to the SM64/Sunshine/Galaxy line of Mario games. Well I haven't gotten the Mario game, and while I am getting a Zelda it's also on the NX which means I could have skipped the Wii U entirely. At the time I felt like I was setting the bar pretty low, and Nintendo still didn't manage to make it.
-
Well obviously. I'm just saying that pretty much no matter what it is I'm not buying it anytime soon after launch.
