According to Bliz there's no penalty for quitting once the victory or defeat screen shows up.

I like books, but VNs are more like comic books, which I don't particularly like, and they're even worse than that because I have to wait for a VN for the transitions and stuff.

I beat Mirror's Edge Catalyst yesterday. Overall I am extremely happy with it. It's not perfect but all my complaints really amount to mere annoyances that don't detract from the game as a whole. If you liked the first one you'll almost certainly like this one.

I tried it on the DS. Way too much VN for my taste. I just got so bored sitting there clicking through 30 minutes of cutscene. Not even well-produced cutscenes, but the kind where it just shows a 2D picture of the character with a text box at the bottom.

Oh I'm definitely not preordering it, I'm just interested enough to keep my eye on it. Waiting for reviews though. Though I'm also in the camp with dean of having mostly enjoyed the first one, despite agreeing that the main character and plot was too bland.

Well given Microsoft's apparent inability to make any headway with their mobile devices I don't think we really need to worry about it taking off too much, since without other devices to use the UWP apps on there's really not much benefit.

I enjoyed the first one fine, but I felt like it was lacking in personality. So much stuff just felt like busy-work, even more so than other open world games. That said, I agree Ubi has a trend of the first entry being promising and then the second entry actually delivering on that promise, so I'm interested.

I think they're a lot better, but it's hard to say for sure until I see a side-by-side comparison. I haven't noticed them like I did when I was playing the trial, but it's possible that's just because I've gotten used to them. I mean, they're not perfect. But that's the exception, I think something weird happened where a texture that typically you'd only see from far away got put in a place where you'll see it up close.

Man, the day one patch is amazing. Not only did they add the Hyper level graphics settings, my computer now runs the game at Hyper even better than it ran it at Ultra during the trial over the weekend.

Word to the wise: when preordering from Green Man Gaming check the release date very carefully. They're not releasing Mirror's Edge until Thursday. Now I'm dealing with support to cancel my order...

GMG is good like that. It's very rare they do a late release like that and it should not dissuade you from using GMG in the future. However, i find cdkeys to offer cheaper codes, usually.

Yeah, especially after it was so easy to cancel despite technically being against policy it's not put me off them at all. All it's done is taught me to be a little more careful when looking at the release dates on their preorders.
