Most, if not all, PS4 games are down to $49 at Walmart also as part of their extended black Friday sale. I don't know if it applies to Xbone or not.

Xbone teardown and bill of materials. Materials and estimated manufacturing come to $471. $75 of that is the Kinect, so if they took that out of the box they could sell the thing for $400 and be essentially breaking even, making them massively more competitive with the PS4. The fact that the controllers only cost $15 makes me even more irritated about the $60 asking price for extras (I'm sure it's a similarly ridiculous markup for DS4's, though the touch pad probably drives up component costs).

I think it can get a little tricky in that the gifter has to have iOS or at least just an iTunes account. The alternative is you could request an iTunes gift card. I'm okay with that if everyone else is. Another caveat is that you can only gift to people whose account is based in the same country as your own. Guess if you are feeling generous...you could send a steam gift card. Lowest is 20 right? Stupid you can't gift a friend a game in another territory if both your and his/her territory has the game...stupid, stupid. They should just let you send whatever amount to a friend. Bet there is some problems that could arise from that? Pretty naive on anything bad that could arise from allowing that. You can gift on Steam independent of region, it's iTunes/iOS that's restricted gifting by region.

Seems so. The PS4/Vita games show up on the Sony Entertainment Network web store, and FDS said he was able to add them to his cart and check out even though he doesn't have a PS4.
