Jumping through a little bit and THANK GOD YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE PARTY ARMOR AGAIN! And yeah, Tenshi's right, jump to 18:00 and they show tactical view. On console no less (judging by the interface icons), so that means it's actually even more tactical than DA:O was on consoles. Sadly it looks like there's no equivalent of the KotOR-style combat I love so much. It's either full-tactical or full-realtime.

They said as far as the media support goes they were always planning to add it, it just wasn't a priority at launch. So it will be coming some time.

Yes, he's saying it won't play mp4 files. Presumably a BD-formatted film is an exception to that.

Here's my thought: even if it's real it probably wasn't going on for very long, because I can't imagine they were allowed to work there long after publicly announcing their plans to sabotage production.

If it's like previous Assassin's Creeds your character should just fade out of existence and then fade back in wearing the new outfit, without actually interrupting the game.

Digital Foundry put up some really high quality PS4 and Xbone captures in mp4 format, so that's one legitimate source that people would be likely to try to play on the PS4.

To be fair, I have seen a couple of places where the SSAO looked weird in this game, but it's been like twice out of the 6 hours or so that I've played, as opposed to every time a character's on screen in most games I've played with SSAO.

So I just spent 3 hours playing AC4 via remote play, and now I can give a much better opinion about it. There is latency, but after a couple of minutes I was adapted to it enough that I only noticed it if I was looking for it. It's not a problem at all for Assassin's Creed, even in combat I didn't have any trouble at all, and while I still wouldn't recommend trying Killzone or CoD multiplayer you might be able to make it through the singleplayer okay. Actually at this point I think the sticks on the Vita would be a bigger impediment to that than the latency would be. I was playing over my home network, not direct connect, because the signal strength is better that way. The only time I ran into any problems was when my wife turned on the microwave, which made it start dropping frames and my latency probably doubled, Even then it was still entirely playable, I just wouldn't recommend using your microwave all the time (probably good advice anyway).

I posted here on how to download things that you redeemed but that haven't actually downloaded yet and don't show up in your list. I believe once you get access to your captain's cabin. I haven't gotten that far yet so I can't say for sure. Why I came in here: Apparently to get the Aveline stuff on the PS4 version (and I assume PS3 version too) you have to redeem another code that's printed on the inside of the cover slip. I didn't even realize that code was there until I saw a news thing in the game menu about it. Once you redeem that it's a 600 MB download to get the content.

For some reason in Assassin's Creed IV when I logged in today it was saying again that I didn't have the Passport, but this time when I entered the code it redeemed properly, so I'm hoping that issues taken care of. I also seem to have found a fix for the already redeemed codes not showing up for download: go to store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com and you can view your download list on there, and from that list you can tell it to download to the PS4. If it says it's available to play on the website but you still don't have it on the PS4 then you need to go into data management on the PS4 and delete the game content (not the saves), go back to the website and tell it to send the content again, and then reinstall the game. After that the content should work properly. Kind of a ridiculous workaround, and hopefully they'll fix the download list on the PS4 soon so it works more like the PS3 one. For any games that you own that you need to download, in the store go to your library page and download it from there, there won't be a download link on the game's store page.

Thoughts on the DS4: The sticks were really my only complaint with the DS3, but on the DS4 the are damn near perfect. They're at least as good as the 360's sticks, and maybe better (which is high praise from me, because I thought the 360's sticks were perfect). The triggers are still a little too gummy, but it doesn't actually bother me, and other than that the only thing I would change is make the face buttons more like the d-pad: less noisy click, more tactile click. I even got used to the location of the options button much quicker than I thought I would (at first I kept hitting the touch pad). It felt a little weird to hold at first, because you can't quite palm it like the 360 controller but you also can't really hold it in just your fingers like the DS3. After playing for a while though it settled into my hand and now feels quite natural. *Edit* - Still not sure if I'm ready to change my vote from 360 to the DS4, but it's definitely a contender.
