So Canadians have made a surprisingly robust brain simulation. Here's a slightly less hypy article about it.
-
I'll probably have New Super Mario Bros U finished within a few days.
-
I'm down. In general, I mean, I can't swear about next week specifically.
-
I thought the same thing about Legendary, but once I actually did it I had an easier time than I did on Heroic, I think because playing Heroic taught me the strategies to approach each enemy type so I played Legendary smarter than I did on my first run. But yeah, the Knights GTFO as soon as their shields go down.
-
I never played on Normal, but on both Heroic and Legendary I'd say the Prometheans are definitely harder than the covenant (well, the Knights anyway, the Crawlers are easy on any difficulty, but that's because they fulfill the "fodder" category for the Promethans).

The thumb for the Youtube video at the top of this page would have made a MUCH better boxart, and it says all the same things about the game.
-
Yeah, but I'd say even that's too much for what it is. I think $20 would be a good price. *Edit* - And that comment came across way more negative than I meant it to. I enjoyed the game, I just thought it was weaker in a lot of ways than the previous two I've played, I don't think it's worth anywhere close to the $60 asking price of the Wii U version, and that even the $30 PC version is too high.

TheMightyEthan's Christmas Wishlist Steam ID: TheMightyEthan Wishlist Country: USA I don't know what to say about my criteria, other than that I tend to be picky about my shooters so it might be safer to stay away from those (other than the two on my wishlist, which are currently still $60 so I definitely do NOT expect anyone to even consider them), and that for some reason JRPGs have never done it for me. Favorite genres I think would be strategy (RTS or TBS), Action/Adventure and WRPG. My absolute most favorite game of all time is probably Red Dead Redemption, but other favorites include the Assassin's Creed series, Halo, Starcraft, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Zelda (any of them, but especially Wind Waker). If you think you can choose something for me that's not on my wishlist but you think I'll like then go for it, though like others I'd say it's probably best to stay away from DLC unless it's on the list. *Edit* - One more thing: I'm definitely not a fan of excessively difficult games.

Not worth the $60 price for the Wii U version. It was fun, but there's just not enough to it. Not only does it seem brief, but there's just no depth to it at all. Every single "puzzle" is just "think of a word that fits this description." And before you say no shit, it's Scribblenauts, I mean it's not even in the context of a puzzle, the puzzle will just be "give the soldier something to fight the alien with" and that's it. For every single puzzle in the game. The other ones I'd played had some cool puzzles, like where you had to solve the same thing 5 times in a row but you couldn't reuse words, and where they'd give you two objects and you had to come up with something that combines traits of both of them. This one just seemed really... meh.

You don't have to set it up, it's automatic, but the rewards haven't started being issued yet. Here's the site: http://ddp.nintendo.com/ *Edit* - Interesting, if you click to the Canadian page it changes to French, with no apparent option for English.

Yeah, when you added me TFG it gave me a notification that I had a friend request every time I brought up the Home menu. So it may be convoluted to get to that method, but at least it is possible to send a true friend request.

Portal is a really good example of a short game that doesn't feel short.
-
I just like my user side panel to say TheMightyEthan as many times as possible.
-
It still reads like parody, and doesn't cite a source, so until further confirmation I'm assuming it's not true.
-
Yeah, replayability is another factor beyond straight-up length. Dishonored may have been short-ish, but I played 3 three times in a row right after getting it, so it was really more like a 30 hour game for me.
-
I looked to see if I could make it show up on the side panel, but apparently I'm not a badass enough admin. Whether that's because I don't have the power or just can't figure out how to do it, I don't know.

PXOD Secret Santa 2012 -- Targets Assigned!

Everyone on the list worked for me as listed (I went through all of them to double check, even the ones I was already friends with). You guys must be doing it wrong. -
That's weird, it's 10% in the US. You spend $50 to get a $5 code.
-
I really really liked it, even if the ending was a little anticlimactic. Not sure yet if it's replaced Brotherhood as my favorite.

TheMightyEthan.

Yeah, what Jack said. Games cost a lot more than other media and I feel like I need to get more time out of it to compensate. Now, there's obviously a balance, I'm not going to want to play a shitty game no matter how long it is, but I might feel that a 60-hour pretty good game is worth more than a 3 hour fantastic one. On the topic of Dishonored specifically, I didn't think it felt too short. My first playthrough took me I think 13 hours. It could maybe have used one or two more levels, but any more than that and I think it would have started to drag, so overall I think they stopped at a good place.
-
Yeah, after I posted that I saw other people talking on RPS about how there's just no Steam version in the UK. That's just weird.
-
It's happened a couple other times, Rage comes to mind, but it's by no means common. In fact Rage is the only other game I can think of right now, though I know it's not actually the only one. I haven't played Killzone 3 yet, but with Killzone 2 it's hard to say because I already don't like the DS3's sticks. I played the beginning part with a 360 controller until I ran into a part that required SIXAXIS, and while I was using the 360 controller the aiming seemed fine.
-
I don't think it was anything like that. It was like when I gave the game control inputs it didn't quite do what it should have. It just moved wrong. Mouse acceleration could potentially explain it on PC, but I don't know about 360.

No, that's pretty much it. There's also a wishlist thread here for non-steam wishlists, but picking something of their Steam wishlist is fine.
