*looks at previous post* <.< >.> The coop is pretty lame, and we quit doing that almost immediately, but it's fun to be able to play it on the TV anyway. The game's design very much supports de-facto coop anyway, with multiple people suggesting how to solve the things. That wouldn't work as well on the PC. Having a lot of fun so far.

I don't see how starting the game over when bad things happen is anything but a more tedious version of reloading a save when bad things happen.

PC version has custom objects too, but I don't know anything about the limit. The coop sounds cool but I don't know if I'd use it enough to justify $20 extra. Maybe I'll wait and see what the price is when I actually end up buying it, because if it's the same I'll probably get the Wii U version.

I haven't been able to figure out if there's any advantage to the Wii U version of Scibblenauts Unlimited over the PC version other than the Nintendo characters.

Hmm, what graphics card do you have? I don't think it ever drops below about 30 fps for me, and that's only in the REALLY big wide open views. Apparently I really lucked out with this...

I played that on the Gamecube. It was hideously bad back then as well. and the way the characters mouths move like moving rectangles....... What are you even talking about?! That game ROCKED! You are dead to me.

That's so tempting, but I've looked and Super Mario 3D Land is literally the only 3DS game I want. *Edit* - Also: And apparently 7:30 in the morning on Black Friday is the time to go to Walmart in a small town. I drove by last night at like 10:30 when I was taking my brother home and the parking lot was completely full (they opened at 8:00 PM last night). This morning when I got up I was like "I'll just go by and check to see how crowded it is." It was more crowded than a normal morning at 7:30, but that's not saying much. I walked in, grabbed these off the shelf, bought them and walked out. No hassle at all.

You should switch to Boxer. It allows you to melee, shoot, throw grenades, and use equipment all without taking your thumbs off the sticks. Also it puts crouch on the stick. B becomes sprint, which I think is a good place for that.

I'm not having anything in this game, but I've seen exactly what you're describing in other games before and sometimes turning down/off the anti-aliasing will help it.

Do you have melee on the stick or something?

Mirror's Edge/Mass Effect can be a problem, but when you refer to ME's protagonist being Faith in the same sentence that should be a giveaway.

AC3 since it's FINALLY OUT ON THE GODDAMNED PC! Also New Super Mario Bros. U and Nintendoland. Really digging both of them. The Pikmin game in Nintendoland is especially fantastic. If there was a full-length version of just that game I would buy it without hesitation.

I still need to play P3P that I bought this summer.

Have you never played a Pikmin game? They're kind of like ants, they go pick shit up and then carry it back to base.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU! I get home, 4 hours after I started the download, and it still has an estimated 3 hours remaining. It's downloading at about 1/10th of what it normally does. All those fuckers downloading free Planetside 2 are eating up my bandwidth. Guess I'll just play NSMBU that arrived in the mail today.

Yeah, I went home at lunch and started the download, so hopefully by the time I'm done with work it will be ready.

I think I actually preferred infamous 1 over 2, but a large part of that might be the whole "take away all your powers at the beginning of the game" part of 2. I hate it when sequels do that.

Killzone 2 (and maybe 3, I haven't played that yet) Ico/SotC bundle if you haven't already played SotC Uncharted 3, though obviously you should wait to see if you like 1 & 2 (if you don't like 1 go ahead and skip to 2, it's not nearly so frustrating) LittleBigPlanet 2 (there's not really any reason to get 1). I believe it's currently free on PS+ Flower Journey That's what I can think of off the top of my head, I'll probably have more once I get home and can look at my collection.

According to the ESA, as of last year 42% of gamers were female. That's not quite 50%, but it's not a niche either. There's of course the question of what kinds of games they're playing, what percentage of "core" gamers are female. But at the same time that could be a chicken-and-egg thing: are the games targeted at men because there aren't very many women, or are there not very many women because the games are targeted at men? Honestly I think it's probably a little of both.
