I'll second 3D Dot Game Heroes.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUU! I get home, 4 hours after I started the download, and it still has an estimated 3 hours remaining. It's downloading at about 1/10th of what it normally does. All those fuckers downloading free Planetside 2 are eating up my bandwidth. Guess I'll just play NSMBU that arrived in the mail today.
-
Yeah, I went home at lunch and started the download, so hopefully by the time I'm done with work it will be ready.
-
I think I actually preferred infamous 1 over 2, but a large part of that might be the whole "take away all your powers at the beginning of the game" part of 2. I hate it when sequels do that.

Killzone 2 (and maybe 3, I haven't played that yet) Ico/SotC bundle if you haven't already played SotC Uncharted 3, though obviously you should wait to see if you like 1 & 2 (if you don't like 1 go ahead and skip to 2, it's not nearly so frustrating) LittleBigPlanet 2 (there's not really any reason to get 1). I believe it's currently free on PS+ Flower Journey That's what I can think of off the top of my head, I'll probably have more once I get home and can look at my collection.

That smiley is not used nearly often enough.

Oh, that makes more sense then. Carry on.

According to the ESA, as of last year 42% of gamers were female. That's not quite 50%, but it's not a niche either. There's of course the question of what kinds of games they're playing, what percentage of "core" gamers are female. But at the same time that could be a chicken-and-egg thing: are the games targeted at men because there aren't very many women, or are there not very many women because the games are targeted at men? Honestly I think it's probably a little of both.

I don't think we're ever going to get away from some games having eye candy, but right now it seems like 90% of girls in games are designed just for fanservice, and I think there's a problem with that. I can't put together a coherent enough thought to elaborate further. Guess it must just be too early in the morning.

Guys! I think LP has discovered our secret weakness: that we like boobs!
-
It seems to stay up. I don't know if they'll stay up forever, but so far they have. My understanding is it's basically like DLC (though the first season comes on the disc), so once you've downloaded it you've got it for as long as you keep that storage device.

Part 5 of RPS's series on the subject.
-
They've only confirmed one season for sure, but if it's successful the intent is to follow it up with future seasons.
-
I think they said that the console supports 2 pads? But yeah, it's clearly designed around one pad per console.
-
Oh, you meant multiplayer. You can put the plasma pistol in your loadout as your secondary weapon.

I tend to agree. I just make it a policy to tag anything anyone says are spoilers, even if it doesn't bother me personally. Err on the side of caution and all that. *Edit* - Especially when the whole thread is labelled spoilers. It'd be one thing if he'd said that 2 days after the game came out, but like he said it's been 6 months and the ending controversy kinda beat that horse to death and then some.

I got my Wii U because on Saturday I was like "I'm gonna go to Walmart tomorrow morning and just see if they have any." I went when I got up at 7 AM (no alarm, I just naturally wake up that early), they had 3 Premium Wii U's and 3 Basic Wii U's, I bought one of the Premium ones and went home. I went back around 4 PM to get some stuff we needed to continue painting our house, and they only had one of the Basic Wii U's left. So it obviously sold out pretty quick, but it wasn't like I had to fight people for them. I guess one of the benefits of living in a small town. The didn't have any copies of NSMB in stock though, so I had to order that from Amazon and it should get here Wednesday (and even Amazon only had 2 left in stock when I ordered it).
-
Yeah, I think they had an arc at the beginning of the season and an arc at the end, but in-between were just a bunch of standalone episodes.
-
I never had trouble finding them.
-
3 was weak because the network made them make it more episodic instead of arc-based.... pretty sure it was 3. Having trouble finding something about it online and it's been forever since I watched them. Anyway, I'm 90% sure it was season 3, and the network made them make it more episode-based to try to be more appealing to new viewers, but that failed and they ended up just losing a significant portion of the viewerbase they already had.
-
I liked BSG season 4. Season 3 was weak though.
-
Oh, I missed the plus part. They have those too. Amazon has the 1-year downloadable cards, it looks like at least online Walmart only has the 3 month physical cards.
-
http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1353291253 *Edit* - That one's "downloadable" (meaning I think they e-mail you the code), but I know Walmart carries the actual physical cards.
-
I actually read it the same way. And as long as the Mario disc is in the console already there's nothing more complicated about it. You can turn on the Wii U from the tablet, launch the game, and start playing all without ever having to look at the TV. The process from the user's perspective isn't any different than if the tablet were a full-blown handheld on its own.
-
Yes, so it's not completely awful.
