  1. I don't think this is necessarily true. It could easily be worthwhile content, but not enough to make you pick back up a huge RPG just to do a new side quest chain when there are other, brand-new games you're interested in playing. But that's exactly my point. If it were more than a lousy sidequest chain you'd probably bother to go back and pick up the game. But I'm saying it applies even to well-done stuff. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing small add-ons as long as they're done well, but the farther you are from release the less likely people are going to be to go back to it for small add-ons so you need to get it out early in the life-cycle.
  2. You mentioned this before, can you elaborate on what happened? It doesn't ring any bells with me.
  3. I bought that one not too long ago, and I really like it. I don't think I've used the upscaling feature yet.

  5. I think the hardest part won't be coming up with the games, but figuring out how to seed them.

  7. Season 8 is the best one. IIRC Season 13's really good too.
  8. Yeah, I'm getting along just fine with my GTX 470 now, but daaaaaaaaamn... I'm going to try to hold out for a new card until at least the next console generation rolls around, cause I think that's when I'm next going to start running into problems being able to run games.
  9. Couldn't find a generic hardware thread, figured this one worked: Nvidia's showing off the GTX 680 now. Do want.
  10. Extra Credits has a pretty good show today about the Mass Effect 3 DLC.
  11. Hmm, he still said that for me...at one point. He did for my second playthrough, but not my first. I was excited that he hadn't said it in my first, but then was pissed when he did in my second. I think if you're running through the area too fast it gets cut off by other dialog, that's why he doesn't always say it. We weren't talking about the catalyst being the DEM (or at least I wasn't), we were talking about the prothean device itself, or at least the plans for it. Also, DO NOT READ THIS UNTIL YOU'VE BEAT THE GAME:
  12. Hah. I never quite got that. lmao! Can you imagine
  13. lol, yeah, overall I like it here, which is why I live here, I just get irritated sometimes at my inability to make use of in-store sales or get games on launch day before the UPS guy shows up. *Edit* - I realized I'm turning into a small town old person last night when there was a car parked across the street with its lights on and I was like looking out the windows trying to figure out who it was and what they were doing.
  14. Stupid living in the middle of goddamn nowhere...
  15. Oh, I didn't get that it was a chart shelf. I don't think Gamestop does that, so I didn't know what the big numbers meant. Yeah, that's pretty fuckin terrible.
  16. I think that it's deus ex machina if you look at the series as a whole, but agree that within ME3 alone it's more of a McGuffin.
  17. So Ridge Racer Unbounded looks like it might scratch my Burnout itch. Bout time, it's only been 7 years...

Lies, Revenge was the best! Paradise was the worst.

And yeah, I've played every one of them at or near release (didn't discover Burnout 1 until just after 2 came out, but other than that I played them all).

Crash Mode has always been my favorite mode since it's introduction in 2. Road Rage was my second favorite after it was introduced in 3.

Revenge's traffic checking just made the game so easy it wasn't even worth playing to me.

  18. What are you referencing with that? Spoiler tag the answer if necessary.
  19. I have a crush on a drawing. Is that weird? *Edit* - Also yeah, if you'd be willing to send me the digital file of that Joker painting that would be wonderful.
  20. Well paragon/renegade is the Mass Effect equivalent of a persuade skill, which has been a staple of RPGs since forever.
  21. That's pretty damn misleading. Though I'll say it doesn't look like it's probably intentional: the sticker is in the exact same place on every other game box. So either they were just slapping it on the upper right corner of every game without thinking about it, or they're being very devious in their attempt to hide their attempted deception.
  22. I'm kinda with Hot Heart. I'll agree the wording wasn't very good, it did throw me off for a second, but given the way the entire rest of the series has worked I knew that the paragon/renegade option would be the one to let you get the best of both worlds. You NEVER get that kind of outcome with just a regular dialogue choice throughout the whole series, it has to be a paragon/renegade choice.
