  1. Holy crap, the combat in Witcher 2 is amazing; it's freaking fun and damn rewarding. I just single-handedly fought off an army of nekkers and I felt like a true badass. Then I killed off an ambush of Scoia'tael and it increased ten-fold. Booya.
  2. Just there for the hardcores. On another note, I look in one direction at a guy, do a quick 360, and then I see that same guy reloading his textures all over again. Stutters galore. But the game looks and plays fantastic (when it isn't stuttering).
  3. Witcher 2 likes CTDs a lot. On another note: https://twitter.com/#!/Fauxtaku

I don't particularly care for Kotaku anymore, but I think that's taking it a bit far. Like, is the individual going to really dedicate their time following Kotaku to make sarcastic tweets about Kotaku all the time?

It just jumped from 1 to 28 tweets, from since last I checked.

      Ha.

They don't need to follow kotaku. Most are pretty generic based on kotaku's actions of years past. Nothing based on any current stories. Also the follow count has spiked quite a bit. Was only like 60 or so the other day.

  4. The game took over an hour to install for me after I downloaded it off GoG. On top of that, it looks great. The combat is very tactical (and painful, since I'm not good at it). The game seemingly crashed-to-desktop on me during the Assault tutorial mission. Poo. EDIT: Oh lordy. It likes crashing a lot.
  5. Quite the pyrrhic victory. We did so much for just the body of one man (and oil). That's 'Merica for you.
  6. DAMN YOU, GOG! LET ME HAVE MY WITCHER 2! ARGGGH.

'Sounds like needless carping to me.' Saturnine, meet Faiblesse.

ps. technically, a midnight launch is having 'to go to the store on release day'. =p

That's the problem with all consumers, Fiablesse. Feeling entitled to something they aren't. But I don't see midnight releases as an extension of that. Especially in the context of Pirandello's status. It'd be different if he were, say, genuinely complaining over GOG being a piss-poor, duplicitous sack of crap for not releasing his game at midnight.

I'm sorry, but wanting to play a game at 12:01 on the agreed upon release day isn't consumer entitlement at all. And this is coming from someone who never has and probably never will attend a midnight release.

  7. PC Gamer has released another mods article. Many of them are quite interesting. PC Gamer - Top 10 Minecraft Mods
  8. As soon as it hits midnight tonight, I'm going to be all over this game.
  9. Damnit. I tried to preload Witcher 2 on GoG through their downloader, but now seems to have stopped 100 MBs from completion and refuses to go any further.

  10. -Get ripped -Learn to parkour -Learn how to draw -Get a nice car -Shake Warren Buffett's hand -Create a 1-to-1 scale replica of Archer's 3E Eclipse armor from SC: Conviction -Learn languages and travel the world -Be the "awesome uncle" to my cousins' kids (since I probably won't get any, so this will do) -Own a kickass computer worthy of the PC gaming gods. Optional: -Get to a proficient level at Starcraft 2 and/or: -Attend a convention (AX, ComicCon, etc).
  11. GLORIOUS PC GAMING MASTER RACE. Nah, I just grew up without consoles. Pissed me off to hell and back when I always see my cousins getting the newest generation console during their birthday, and my parents wouldn't buy me one since they're the type that think "games rot brains". So I just stick with PCs my entire life and here I am now.
  12. So what does that make me, since I'm an Asian and enjoy watching The Boondocks?
  13. Aw. You had me at "Monster Hunter", but then I read up on it and it's consoles only. Hopefully, since it's Capcom, we'll have a chance of seeing it on PC soon. I know of a great number of PC gamers wanting a localized version of the Monster Hunter MMO for the NA region, but I think this will suffice as well. In addition, the engine they're making this on is the same as the one used for RE5 and Lost Planet 2 (both of which have PC ports). Well, one can hope anyways.
  14. I got the Witcher 1 and 2, both on GoG. Loved the first, most definitely will enjoy the second.
  15. In addition, their "In Others PC Gaming News" section features a picture of a very familiar giraffe. Classy.
  16. I remember playing STALKER: SoC with the Complete mod once. I was down in X18 (god forbid), when I started hearing noises of a little girl crying. Now, in X18, it is as quiet as shit, so when it started, it was pretty damn loud and made me jump from my seat. I freaked the FUCK out, and tried to locate whatever the fuck was causing it so I could kill it. Because there was no way in fucking hell that it was a little girl. Not in X-fucking-18. And you know what? I was right. No sooner had I arrived at the location where I thought I heard it from, I was assaulted immediately by those trenchcoat-wearing dwarf dudes. Nothing bullets couldn't solve.
  17. I'm still on the fence about buying this... after buying Brink (at $45, since it was pre-order), I'm not too keen on splurging some more. But it looks good. Really good. If I ever do get it, it will most likely be from GoG.com. Perhaps my opinion will change within the next few days. I played the first one and loved it to death (literally, Act 1 nearly made me want to quit the game, but I'm glad I stuck through it).
  18. In Pandora Tomorrow, it was simply used as an extremely quick way to switch between sides of an open doorway without having to sneak across the door's open light. Granted, you still got exposure, but it was much quicker than manually maneuvering. The technique was simply stepping quickly across to the other side and "turning" your body so it ends facing in the opposite direction from which you started, hence the name.
  19. I like how they're tweaking the combat system. Now he can actually be more of a soldier. I was actually wondering why most TPS games don't use SWAT turning. It's very useful. Last I recall, the only other game that had SWAT turning was Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. Also, I read that depending on what relationship you took in 1 and 2, will come back to bite you in 3. To which I say: Your fault for dumping me, Ashley. Tali is a much better life partner anyways.
  20. The game works completely fine for me. Given, the MP is kind of quiet (should probably get together with some friends and play with them instead), but everything else is fine. I like the SMART system and the guns. Furthermore, I, too, bought Hellgate: London on launch. I still have it, and it's still fun. If you're looking for a SP mod, Hellgate: Revival is a nice addition.
  21. The weekend can't come fast enough.

      FFFFFFFFF

  22. From what I read in the communities, Brink's been horribly optimized out the door. Again, like the Black Ops incident: how the hell can you not have this thing optimized on an engine we know should work perfectly fine?
  23. I am an ISTJ. 78, 12, 12, 1. Yeah, I don't like people.
