  1. The trick is to push the internal resolution, in the GPU plug-in settings, up. It handily has preset 2X, 4X, 6X settings n so on. Essentially downscaling. A bit of AA doesn't hurt, but can make things go a bit fuzzier than you might want. Also the more recent version in the main Emulation Settings has the Preset button on the bottom of the window which makes things go so much better so much easier too. I'm on Preset 2. I reckon if I had more than a Core2 Quad I'd probably be able to run things much much smoother.
  2. Yeah FFXII was built with HD in mind, it has some of the higher quality textures you'll see in PS2 games, it looks pretty sweet in HD. Here's one of my screenshots from 3 years ago (seems I've only taken FFX shots recently)
  3. I'm pretty sure one of Microsoft's blank cheques will mean you'll do quite a bit.

    Apple

$2.5k for the big silver boxes. They've not priced how much thier tube will cost. And that's $2.5K for the cheapest of the silver boxes. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/mac_pro
  5. Yeah I'm kinda curious why it's not in the FFX HD release tbh.
  6. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-18-game-opening-xbox-only-store-in-london GAME to be launching an Xbox One only store in London. Presumably in partnership with MS (Same as Best Buy in US I guess)

    Alcohol

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/18/us/for-its-latest-beer-a-craft-brewer-chooses-an-unlikely-pairing-archaeology.html?_r=0 Really old fashioned brewed beer.
  8. Not a forum change but Tapatalk, which due to earlier requests this forum now supports, is now free for all. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tapatalk.tapatalk4 https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tapatalk-forum-app/id307880732?mt=8
  9. I'm playing on PS3. So no idea how you'd rejigger stuff. Though looking at some of the PC screens going up of late it'd be nice to be able to tweak stuff cos there's a fair bit more GUI going on in the PC version, and more comfortably too.
  10. http://www.gog.com/gamecard/torchlight And the link, as that is always useful. Of not is it is only for 48hrs. So get it before Thursday comes around. http://www.gog.com/news/nodrm_summer_get_torchlight_free_for_48_hours
  11. A Demon Wall? There's two of them in a row. One of them is a "fake". (iirc mind, this info might be wrong). XII I'd say is very well done, and about as far away from the regular ATB as I've been comfortable with so far. Yeah the License Board stuff kinda sucks as a levelling up method, especially when you're wanting to get to a summon or ..whatever the limit breaks are called (conjunctions?) cos it means picking up a bunch of stuff you likely don't care for. But it keeps the game paced I guess, you're not going to be using spells well ahead of time (which I guess some might dislike, but I'm fine with it. Early use of -aga spells is always welcome where possible mind.) It's clearly inspired by their MMO work of XI too, and it feels pretty good in that regard, bigger areas to explore and less linear, something X n XIII kinda lacked in. Proper quest system of sorts too, though also grinding of mobs too for components (which at least drops the whole "why does a wolf have an iron dagger on it?").

    Apple

That's the new version of the Mac Pro (the silver thing to the left) A size comparison: Thing is this is their "pro" product, you think iMacs are pricey, these start at like $2.5K+. Mac Pros are used in the film industry for their raw grunt, and having it in a "unified thermal core" shell with a crap ton of custom parts is going to make it a pain in the ass if it busts cos you're going to have to send the whole thing in to Apple. A consumer product having to do that? Whatever. But a product where lack of use is costing tens of thousands a day it'll be unacceptable. But if you're tied into using OSX then you've got to take whatever Apple throws your way.
  13. Hooray. I beat the Circle of Mages part of the main quest line. That kinda what made me stop first time around. Man I love DA:O, one of my greatest gaming regrets is not beating it when it was in it's prime. I'd say my prime annoyance is a proper lack of quest markers, so I've got 3 letters to hand out but I don't know who I have left and I've wandered all over Denerim (that I've access to) and Ogrimmar (that I have access to) so I'm just assuming the dude left is in either the Deep Roads, or the Elven Alienage/Keep.
  14. Might as well post the teaser here. I'm gonna assume PS4, Xbone n PC. And obviously hope that they're taking thier sweet time and making it more like Origins. But you never know until some gameplay rears its head.

    World Politics

From what I'm to understand there's corruption going on, issues with expenses of hosting World Cup 2014 (and I'd guess the 2016 Olympics too), and the police being a bit OTT in dealing with protesters. Here's a Beeb post on it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-22946736

    Apple

Yeah the new Mac Pro is hideous. Not seen the iFixit ratings yet but I imagine it's pretty low as with most modern Apple products. Old Mac Pro cases were beasts. Old vs new: And I think I've posted this in a status but if not: http://jonyiveredesignsthings.tumblr.com/
  17. http://www.incredipede.com/linux.html A completely free game, if you're on Linux. http://savygamer.co.uk/2013/06/17/dishonored-pc-7-99/ http://savygamer.co.uk/2013/06/17/dishonored-the-knife-of-dunwall-pc-3-99/ Dishonored and Knife of Dunwall on the cheap.
  18. Haven't you bought that book several times already? Also Revan answered my question already but my thoughts was "Isn't he one of our few married members?"
  19. Isn't this meant to be the first of their Justice League movies? There is at this point in time no Justice League.

    DOTA 2

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/dota-2-to-be-released-this-summer-6410348 It's officially coming out before International 3. More concrete details in the coming week. I'd guess it might be alongside the Steam Summer Sale.
  21. I'm playing Dragon Age Origins. I will one day finally complete this game (I'm on a save from july 2011...)
  22. It's having to wander around without aim until you come across some village with quests for you to do, they don't exactly point you much in a path as most MMOs I've done tend to. As far as hotbar goes, could be missing some, but most do 1 through to 0/+
  23. It's the first MMO I've played on a console, and it holds up pretty well (not surprising given when I beta'd the PC launch a year+ ago it played less like a PC game). Only major niggle is you're gonna want a keyboard for the chat. You actually have more hot bar shortcuts than you do on PC (16, R2 n L2 for modifiers, then d-pad n action buttons for specific spell/action, compared to the 10-12 on PC MMOs). The beta feels somewhat lacking in quests and direction though, there can be voids between levels where you're waiting to hit 5/10/15 to open new ones, so needing to fish about the area looking for new spots to level up in, joining random fights n FATEs(Random battle things multiple people can join in, I feel GW2 does them a bit better).
  24. If I wasn't generally against subbed MMOs and also so many games I already own in my backlog I'd probably play EVE more. Man, I mainly mined in that game. Ultimately boring, but at the time so satisfying (And you can do other bits at the same time)
