  1. Yeah, I'm not sure there's even 120 big studios.

I like to think of it more as The Beatles of video games.

Citizen Kane is the Myst of movies.

  2. Still unsure on this one. Anywho, more 300.

    Ouya

http://www.androidcentral.com/nvidia-grid-shows-you-can-play-borderlands-2-ouya So Nvidia have got their Grid (thing powering Project Shield) running on Ouya. Technically making it a steambox. Also funny that Nvidia got Ouya on the show floor but Ouya themselves couldnt
  4. http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/pdf/130611a_e.pdf Their press release tingy, with the bigger news being since announcement in february the number of developers for the system has gone from 126 to 505.
  5. As far as the battles go it'll take a while until you can get them totally up to awesomeness (when you get a party, and access to more gambits). After Leviathan iirc is when the game properly opens up. I'm not understanding what you're saying with the second part. King isn't split from his guards, you're a second group that's going to stop the conspiracy. It comes a bit more clearer later on I guess.
  6. As far as negative:positive stuff spreading and being remembered. I read recently there's some psychiatric thinking along lines of it taking 3 positive things to outweigh a negative experience. (Hmm, it was on a google design blog now I think of it, it was a thing they referenced, either way it's a thing that is probably rather true). Anywho I expected this and here it is: "New Xbox 'a sin against all service members'" http://www.armytimes.com/article/20130614/OFFDUTY02/306140030/New-Xbox-sin-against-all-service-members- And I imagine within the US this is a pretty big deal that'll likely sway not just service members, but their family, friends and general population.
  7. I imagine it'll still hit into the tens of millions of units come end of the generation, unlikely to be Sega bad, but will likely come "last". Potentially worse than Sony have been this gen (Which is pretty much on par with MS anyway). I think it'll rest on how they market to consumer. They could probably just get away with "COD:The New One for Xbox One" and boom, millions of units sold.
  8. Who has FFXIV PS3 beta access? Wanna team up?

Aw boo, we're already all split. I'm on Marlboro. Anyway, have fun!

  9. Easier on both the publisher n Sony if it's done through Sony anyway as it's in £5 minimum spends to put cash on your PSN Wallet anyway, so lower card charges. People would also be less likely to use your game if they need to input CC infor for each new MMO/F2P title they grab.
  10. Oh I hadn't made my first post on this. Anywho joined a gym (as mentioned parents n grandparents threw birthday cash at me to do so). Had to wait a bit to use the weights (hehehe) due to initial induction being cut short. Though yet to actually make use of them, not wanting to bulk up, and tbh despite asking a few times on ideal starting all I've been told so far is "8 reps", as opposed to any suggestion on actual weight and/or machines to use. (well apart from "oh you don't want to use those, there for ladies"). Mainly atm doing cross trainer (or "elliptical" as it's seemingly known to some people including Fitocracy) and rowing machine, but there's only three rowing machines and all were in use today so shifted to the treadmill, which I hate using, so basically just did a slightly high powered walk/light jog on it.
  11. Yeah MS run Azure platform, they want more people in the "cloud", though that's more corporate level than consumer at this point (SkyDrive and Win8 are it for consumer afaik). Though Xbone isn't really true "cloud", especially cloud computing. It says it does, but as noted up top, if it's only connected for a few kb once every 24hrs, that's nothing more than a DRM check. A few kb isn't even uploading saves to the cloud, or grabbing pre-crunched data or something. And yeah, structure of E&D has changed over the years. Allard left after the whole Courier incident (and I think a few other smaller guys left too due to lack of morale after that), and Robbie Bach too. Both had been in charge of Xbox from day one, and both left in 2010, which is about when things started to go south for Xbox division in over focusing on Kinect, and adding in the "apps" n such.
  12. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/194300/Duke_Nukem_deal_goes_sour_as_3D_Realms_sues_Gearbox.php 3D Realms suing Gearbox over unpaid DNF royalties. Sounds like 3D Realms is in the right, just iwth Gearbox wanting to change the contract they should have read over first time around.
  13. Oz the Great and Powerful It was a fun watch and all, but it seemed a bit too flat* like the actors (witches especially) were going through the lines. The sounds for the baboons were pretty terrifying though, the good old "don't show the scary things" worked well for a fair while. Certainly a spectacle though. *well..except when it throws in a lot of forced 3-D that I thought industry had gotten over a couple years back.
  14. Unless it's a daily deal I can't see it being must less. It is improving quite a few leaps and bounds to justify it's bumped up price.
  15. Dishonored. The good ending, and I might give it a crack in the future for the high chaos ending, just to see what funkiness I can get up to if I care little for stealth. I'd say it seems a game where you can miss an awful lot, and as I'm someone who likes exploring nearly all crooks and crannies it does get to me a little, but at the end of the day it's an enjoyable game regardless. For a stealth game the music could have been handled better though.
  16. Probably the only Xbone exclusives Iv'e seen that has my interest piqued. Though so did Overstrike and that became Fuse, so not too hopeful on this remaining all bright and colourful.
  17. The full Dark Sorcerer video if you're interested. David Cage is really in the wrong industry http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/2013/06/12/david-cage-on-ps4-a-spectacular-improvement-on-ps3/
  18. http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends/visualize?nrow=15&ncol=15 So I think this is definitely both weird and wonderful.
  19. I skipped Dead Money in the end. though I've yet to finish Fallout. I guess after Dishonored (which I reckon I'm near the end of) it'll be the next one to do.
  20. http://today.duke.edu/2013/06/vidvision video gamers respond to visual stimuli better/faster.
  21. Earlier today in Travelling man: Dean: "ooh, there's that Gloom game. ooh, pocket sized too". Later today at home: Housemate: "There's something here for you, oh and a hand drawn comic" Dean: "Oooh, Gloom." I should speak allowed in shops more often. Yeah it's pretty neat, transparent cards is certainly a weird concept. Gives a very nice feel to it too. I lost our first game due to only having one dead family member. Also gotta say, from the old "youngest first" or "roll dice, highest first" of the games of my childhood, the recent games with "whoever has traveled to most european countries" and with Gloom "who has had the most miserable day" certainly makes it interesting starts.
  22. I've seen their not-quite-right gen numbers used before now. Would someone be able to provide clarification on their use of Gen 3 and Gen 4. Because I'm not quite sure it's used in the same way we'd say "8th gen" (for one it'd be 4th gen surely?). And it's not a relation to when they came into games market either cos they're over 30 years old. I've a feeling it's media, Gen 3 being disc based console focused, and now Gen 4 is digital based with a mobile(ish) focus?
  23. Last I saw amazon pre-orders are at PS4, Last of Us, Xbone.
