  1. @Metal: Well part of the point of the selection is to pick the top PS1 FF game. (of which no doubt someone will point out more than those three saw release on PS1) @Tenshi:
  2. Thursday gets it. @Tenshi: Visual representation of votes or..?

  4. Yeah, to increase yields (part of the reason the PS3 only came with 7 SPUs instead of the 8 the Cell BE had on it). Of course it doesn't matter too much if they've only spent 7 months working on the Xbone OS, they'll replace it in a year or so anyway.
  5. So none of you like Final Fantasy?
  6. Aye, I was watching a video earlier today on Wired showing off the TV stuff and she mentioned they've being working on the software that runs the thing for only 7 months. Which means when PS4 had been announced it was only like 4 months old. From what I've gathered around the web the Xbone is the least mature of the consoles, not rushed, they're not wanting a repeat of RROD and all that, but not mature. Not fleshed out in exactly what they're wanting it to be, hence the fucked up PR. Sony had a rather clear message with their reveal and I don't think anyone struggled with comprehending what Sony was trying to do. But MS jsut confused.
  7. It's a goddamn iPad game!!!!

As for telling Eidos what to do, they've made clear their intent to just use Eidos as a learning experience and leave them to their own thing, and so far they've stuck to their word. Helped out with FMVs on DXHR and their publishing skills but that's it.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of that, re-releasing games. I'd hardly say Square is the worst, though. There are other companies who think RPGs that released just a year or two ago are somehow worth porting to Vita. I would have probably jumped on Versus if it came out years ago, too.

Eh, the only issue re-releasing games has is it can knock down the price of the original releases (maybe). Other than that, chance to play older titles, many of which are unavailable/hard to get hold of/pricey as fuck.

  8. You thinking of Machete Order Ethan?
  9. See Robert Carlyle would be good, but given he's currently one of the lead actors in Once Upon a Time I can't see him even attempting to audition, but if OUAT was to be dropped he'd be great. Especially as I think the show could do with jumping back up the ages again. David Tennant I think is in a mood where he loves his time as The Doctor, and would jump at chances for cameos, but won't go back full time.
  10. Bought some shoes and bottoms for the gym.
  11. http://youtu.be/rXXhEA001e4 Sydney Customs House. I've seen better, though the Cyberman segment is neat.
  12. Spoiler Warning: Frankie Boyle is a bit of an ass, up his own ass, ass.

    Help!

And fixed, turns out the upgrade was turning off a global setting of "View who gave reputation". Damn Joan Jett bugs.

    Help!

Same here. It's not critical, but I will look into it.
  15. If there truly was a major problem, there wouldn't be a shaking fist emoticon, there would be moved to the review score thread.
  16. Yeah, just set my housemate on grabbing that, I liked the demo, been waiting on it to go dirt cheap for a while. Also having to look up YLOD repairs near us now cos...semi-RIP her 60GB :/
  17. I turn my back for a few hours
  18. That is a good month. I think our main draw in EU for June is Ico/SOTC.

    Windows 8

You can put different wallpapers on different screens. (personally I prefer panoramas, which work in Win7 anyway) Edit: Also MS advertise the ability to run apps in one monitor alongside your desktop, but in the preview it was a requirement not an optional thing, couldn't run desktop on both monitors. Though given they advertise ability to put taskbar on multiple screens I guess they figured how to fix that (but that might require 3 or more screens to have desktop on 2) The image they use isn't promising http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/multiple-monitors#1TC=t1
  20. I'm slamming it (in case that hasn't been obvious). btw your "better gaming performance" link would be the exact same one I used in the "your games work fine too" link, due to the whole ^ this is Sleeping Dogs in Windows 8 benchmark (does work if you run it on the lower settings, but why buy a new rig for low settings?). And as I'm assuming Atomsk would be building this for gaming purposes, having an OS with established gaming support would be a neat idea. As noted, they both have DirectX 11. The "Improved backend" article is also largely focused on the metro apps using WinRT, which would be the part many Windows 8 evangelists say to avoid so you can use Win 8 to be more Win 7 like. The only general improvement is the memory one, and as it notes in the article is largely only useful to people using virtualization, which I can't see Atomsk running many virtualized instances of Win 8 on a desktop machine. The Toms Hardware come away was: Which'd be pretty much on par with the point I'm getting at. Ars: Which was also my experience. The only time both are quite positive about it is if you're making use of a tablet PC/laptop, which is what Windows 8 is built for, and so far a thing Atomsk is failing to build.
  21. There's no fundamental difference in performance between the two. The only major performance gain I'm aware of being it "boots up faster" but my understanding is it's because Windows 8 doesn't properly shut down in the first place*. (and iirc you're an advocate of just using Sleep mode anyway). Basically my viewpoint is why jump on the new just because it's new? Especially one so drastically different (and seemingly already changing again). The few millisecond of performance gains would be far outweighed by those lost in the new two tone windows paradigm. Windows 7 is Windows 7, instead of Windows 8 which the main positive folks seem to have is "it's like Windows 7 if you ignore all the Windows 8 bits", so why not just go with an OS that doesn't require you to do any ignoring? Preview versions of Windows 8.1 are coming at the end of the month, where Atomsk could grab n give it a spin himself (depending how soon the PC is being built), or likely Windows 8 preview ISOs will be floating around still. I know if I was spending $100 I wouldn't be going with the product that's getting slammed by all but a few.
  22. One series and an episode of series 2 down. 4 more to go. (Oh and my current fave would be Lumpy Space Princess)
  23. I am 5 episodes (which I think means two and a half) into this. The pilot apparently sucks. It seems like a show that'd be neat to stick on my second screen while doing non-FPS/Stealth/audio-reliant games.
