Once I got in the spaceship started my rather rapid decline in liking this game. Considering it's a space game it is clunky as hell for controlling the spaceship. Feels realllyyy slow and floaty like too. Inventory is caked in your upgrades taking up slots too, so if you get a better suit/ship/gun then you're left with less slots to collect the resources needed to power said tool. Sure you can buy a gun with more inventory slots, but usually that's taken up with more upgrads kinda negating the increased slots. It has some polish over your regular survival-sim but otherwise it's not really my cup of tea. I imagine it'd be a decent game to throw £10 on or something but it's not a £40 title.

Push E to land guys. Like there's a "bubble" stopping you reaching a certain distance of the planets surface so you end up sideways/upside down whatever but not any closer to the ground. I figured the button combo out when I was like "fuck it let's just jump out"

don't alt-tab. Otherwise I seem to be running the GOG version fine. I have two friends and my spaceship is fucked.

It's an issue nearly everyone is having, seems it either runs like shit, or you can't get it to run at all. I know Ethan is in the latter camp n seems more than half of current Steam buyers are in the two camps too: http://store.steampowered.com/app/275850/#app_reviews_hash

I believe "all the tucker gifs" was the best response so far to todays Labour news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37057589 Also it'll soon be two months and we won't have left the EU or made seemingly any moves to do so.

For the UK release we have Bill Bailey. It's pretty damn good casting tbh

If you have Spotify they've now got a "Gaming" genre made up of playlists from games themselves as well as stuff for background music relevant to the type of gaming you're doing (e.g to get you pumped or chill you out or whatever). I clicked the "music from FFXV" and it only had 3 tracks and not the one from the original trailer ("Somnus" or whatever it was) Otherwise it's got a decent selection, most of them been on there a while but now it's all collated together. I'm liking this one atm cos of Stranger Things https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/2yLXxKhhziG2xzy7eyD4TD

Because of the scrubbing of the EU as "Legends" they're literally a species who many of them died to get the plans to the Death Star. That's literally it. It's the only thing mentioned about them in the films, and they're not in Clone Wars or Rebels so no canon there either.
-
I've been told after making the joke that it's the second death star where many bothans die, this is the first death star. I'm mildly hyped for this one. I'm not gonna go in expecting much given it's a New Hope prequel so we're not gonna learn much "new" or whatever but be interesting to see some of the lore and world outside of the Skywalkers n Jedi explored a little bit. It's under the wing of Disney n they're doing pretty alright with the MCU so I figure a SWCU will do pretty fine too (even if there's like no direct continuity n team ups between them). p.s I suspect that one of the Rogue One guys is the old guy from the start of Ep VII. Probably the male sidekick dude. Forest Whittakers character is this dude btw: Makes sense given they're the original rebellion, even if that was against separatists on behalf of the republic at the time. Series 5 Episode 2 for several episodes if you're interested in giving it an initial watch.

Heading out to do some shopping and Uranium pooped in my head as "why the fuck is this on PC and not mobile". Be cool if someone was to come along n help port it over. While it is nicely ported over to PC n such, Pokemon is inherently a handheld title. The 1cm2 pixels might look a bit less out of place on a mobile too

Blog post went up today (the int'l launch and PC launch): - They're bringing on a QA team - They're setting up a ticketed support system and hired someone for that starting Monday. Also yeah seems the main issue is the pre-order ship (which has also changed name between announce and launch too for some reason). http://www.no-mans-sky.com/2016/08/issues/

I grabbed it from torrents other day. Only like loaded it up for a brief spin. All fairly PC optimised to a degree (it's window only, no full screen option but you can change between "small/medium/large") so no going "well what's the A key on here" cos it's "Enter".) There's two modes when starting, there's regular and Nuzlocke where it enforces the Nuzlocke rules if your'e in to that.

Minimum: OS: Windows 7.1SP1 or above (64-bit Operating System Required) CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent RAM: 8 GB Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB) HDD/SSD: 45 GB Recommended: OS: Windows 10 64-bit CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K or AMD FX 8350 Wraith RAM: 16 GB Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 480 - 1920 x 1080 or NVIDIA GTX 970 - 1920 x 1080 HDD/SSD: 55GB (Including DLC) I'm currently in-between. Finally I'm a beautiful butterfly! My wings, oh they're beautiful!

Guess I'll grab Deus Ex too.

PEGI is self-submitted too. Weird. I guess in a timeline sense it implies they had had multiplayer once upon a time and have since removed it for whatever reason (and it's not a case of "currently disabled cos of server load" if they've had folks put stickers on the CE boxes). The lack of clear communication on this is really baffling. I wonder if there's some legal dealy-o, like I dunno part of deal with Sony was they'd have MP which'd mean increase in PSN+ subscriptions maybe n kickbacks from that or whatever and thus Sean doesn't want to outright state they'd reneged on that (but then they wouldn't have to outright state anything if all the boxes clearly state it's SP only). Otherwise it's been shown on live streaming it's not technically possible, the boxes and store pages list it as SP and the CE has been changed from PEGI with online elements to one without. Another thought actually on the PEGI stuff is that might be because you could submit names such as "planetfucker" or whatever. I know in some cases the PEGI stuff does cover online communication which that might have counted as until a bit of wrangling with PEGI lot(probably from Sony who want to have a 7 rated game than a 12 rated). Cos the other part of the box doesn't have a sticker over it and still only lists "1 player". Man I think all this mystery is more exciting than the game.

It's July. What Are Your Favourite Games of the Year So Far?
deanb replied to danielpholt's topic in General Gaming Chat
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dishonored 2, and FFXV is it for me. Couple things upcoming I might grab in sales n such (e.g Civ VI, Styx, etc) -
From what I've seen so far it looks kinda neat, but I'll mainly be skipping it as I've still yet to finish Alpha Sapphire. @atomsk88: as in if you want a none ghost/fire type Marowak you'd need to trade with a non SUMO game, or do you mean if you want to have Marowak (as in a gen 1 pokemon) in SUMO you'd need to transfer it as there's no wild marowaks to catch in SUMO?

I'm early days on Stranger Things. Just got to the half way mark (Episode 4). Loving it. Really strong 80s vibe too (oh god love the music n the theme n such). Given I started on it this morning and half way through I suspect this time tomorrow I'll be able to give some more in-depth thoughts.
-
Well now he's crying. Hope you're all happy.

Given all the other highly anticipated games I'm not expecting this to have much of a life of being "the game". We're just on a bit of a lul at the moment, as is always common over summer. Cos yeah Deus Ex along with like two games that people have been waiting 10 years for, and the usual end of year stuff oh n Dishonored 2 and probably even more that doesn't currently come to mind.

It's still early day so we'll see what pans out with it coming out in EU today n PC on Friday. The prevailing theory is they're being coy in order to not potentially damage initial sales. So we'll see if their messaging changes in the next week or so. They're the developers. I'd guess if they'd put MP functionality in they'd have god tools to be able to put two of their QA testers or whatever with each other to figure it out. Surely there'd be some screenshots or even video from that to be able to go "here's what it looks like when two people meet" and put the matter to rest. If two people were able to coordinate it in the first day to "meet up" and nothing happened it's likely to be that more folks will be able to attempt it very soon and if it carries on coming up blank then it won't look so great on Hello Games. Given the size of their team n scope of past games compared to this no one would really blame them for having it SP only but the longer they drag out without any clarification the less of a good look it is for them. It kinda has more of a buzz at the moment than say folks sharing planets they've come across or what not which I'd guess they'd prefer.

I got the "Beat the Average" tier on the latest Humble Bundle so got: Tharsis Savage Lands Kholat Space Engineers Rust Shelter 2 Might throw out key for Kholat (should really do a give away on a bunch of keys actually) since it seems more of a horror survival thing and not quite my cup of tea. I've been interested in these kinds of games but not enough to throw out £10-£15 on one. Some of these have SP only elements too which I'm more interested in, have done a couple on free weekends like Ark that have multiplayer n not into that kind of stuff.

"We want people to be aware they are in a shared universe. We added online features, and some Easter Eggs to create cool moments" See this could be "you're in a shared universe and 'online features' in the sense that you'll see the planets and creatures other people have seen" way which we know that's how it functions at the moment. That's the Spore level stuff. Or is it a "not a structure multiplayer system like you'd get in COD but more a "singleplayer campaign with some multiplayer overlap like Darksouls/Watch_dogs where you absolutely definitely have the other people sharing the world with you". I don't know if Sean just thinks when folks ask about multiplayer in his mind that's only deathmatch n what not and he's unaware of the likes of Dark Souls n such and player are used to the "your game session is now suddenly multiplayer for a bit" style of play. Like he's even said: "Two players finding each other on a stream in the first day - that has blown my mind" but everyone knows they didn't find each other, that was sort of the point n why the question on it having functional multiplayer elements or not at all is a thing. Any who couple days n it'll be on PC n I might be able to give it a whirl for a moment.

There's also the err...Kaiju Universe. Or the Kong-verse, or whatever the hell they're wanting to call the cinematic universe that's got Godzilla 2014 in, with Kong: Skull Island out soon then I think Godzilla 2 then they're gonna have a clash movie. (I've googled and it's "Godzilla-Kong" for their cinematic universe name). There was a fair chunk of Looney Tunes crossover already I believe so a cinematic universe of that nature might work, main thought being it'd be surely better as some kind of digital-only release? Apart from Space Jam I'm not really sure of any successful looney tunes movie. They work a lot better as frequent shorts with recurring jokes than anything with a major development arc like you'd have with a Disney film.
