  1. Now that the price has come down a bit, I'm really tempted to get it. Especially since I've played the first one only a month ago and could definitely go for another round. But with my current schedule there's just no way I could possibly find enough time to properly play a game of this magnitude.
  2. Just grabbed Resident Evil 4 HD. It's downloading atm. Unfortunately, I have class in a couple of hours and probably won't be able to play it until tomorrow afternoon. But at least it'll be downloaded and installed. I can't wait to replay it, I haven't touched it since the original gamecube release, so I'm not sure how well it'll hold up. Plus, I keep hearing that Capcom were quite lazy in upgrading the visuals... I guess as long as it still feels superior to RE5, I'll be happy. I'm also debating grabbing ICO/SotC Collection on my way back from class tomorrow morning... I don't want to blow all my cash on games and I just bought RE4. And there's Dark Souls next week... But then again, it IS my birthday this month. So I think I'm entitled to some stupid spending
  3. Just grabbed the Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle. Quite the steal considering the game normally goes for 25 bucks! You also get the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle if you pay more than average, which I did.
  4. Just got an email about the Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle! I had installed the demo a while ago but never played it. Just did and the game is awesome. I'm definitely going to grab this. And the game is normally 25 bucks! Oh and if you pay more than the average, you also get the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle.
  5. Not trying to defend him or anything, you're entitled to your opinion of the man. But I'm pretty sure that what you're referring to was meant to be humorous. For you to get that pissed off at him makes me think that you just don't get his style of humor. I always found his articles to be highly entertaining.
  6. Finally decided to get Alpha Protocol for 2$ before the deal ends. I tried it when it first came out and the lack of polish was kind of shocking. I don't think I even finished the tutorial. It just wasn't the game I'd hoped it would be. But since then I keep running into people online who claim the game is genuinely fun, so I got curious enough to give it another shot. And for 2 bucks, who the hell cares if I don't like it. At least now I'll have it for when I've nothing better to play and feel like trying it again.
  7. Pre-ordered the PS3 version about a month ago. The closer we get to the release date, the more excited I get. It kinda snuck up on me, actually. I pre-ordered because Demon's Souls was excellent, but a month ago I wasn't exactly shitting myself with anticipation. It was more like "Eh, this is coming out soonish. Cool." Now it's more like "OMG!! DARK SOULS IN 2 WEEKS!! "
  8. Agreed on the KH collection. That's one of my most wanted since I never even finished KH2 (and now that MGS and Z.O.E. and Silent Hill all have already been announced ). As for Silent Hill, the original is already available on PSN, so I feel like it's not that big a deal to not have it. The only thing I see as a problem is the exclusion of SH4 for seemingly no valid reason. I guess it would be okay if they eventually released another collection with SH4 and a port of Shattered Memories, but that would just feel weird. I mean, packing in together a remake of the original and a game that's pretty much Silent Hill in name only... I really feel like SH4 belongs in this collection with 2 and 3.
  9. Isn't the game cross compatible anyway? Like, PS3 players being able to play with PC players? Also, am I correct in assuming that the account is accessible on both platforms? Like, if I start playing on PC but for some reason decide to download it on PS3, I'll be able to access the same account and characters, right? Previously that would've required buying 2 copies of the game, which is ridiculous, but now that it's free...
  10. Watched Attack the Block and the original 1985 version of Fright Night a few days ago. I'd heard great things about Attack the Block but didn't really know what to expect. Overall I thought it was pretty great, though it was more of a monster movie than I thought it would be. As for Fright Night, I kept hearing the remake with Colin Farrell was good but not quite as good as the original, so I got curious. It didn't exactly blow me away, but I really enjoyed how it was kind of a more old school horror movie, like I used to watch as a kid. They just don't make horror movies like that anymore
  11. This is probably the only MMO I've ever genuinely wanted to try. I mean, I gave the WoW trial a shot a while back and just couldn't get into it. But the fact that this one is based in the DCU makes it infinitely more interesting to me. That being said, paying monthly payments on top of the initial 50 bucks was just not something I felt good about. So this going free to play is awesome news for me since I've really wanted to try it but was unwilling to make the necessary investment. I was hoping for a free trial at some point, but this is even better. If I like it, I'll probably be willing to invest some cash into it if whatever microtransactions they're offering seems good enough.
  12. DCUO going free to play next month. Guess I'll finally give this MMO thing a try then...

I was interested in the game. This is actually the first MMO that I genuinely wanted to try. But paying 50 bucks and monthly fees on top is just not something I was prepared to do. Now the only thing I have to worry about is PC or PS3!

      Hot Heart

I would've gladly got it day one if they followed the Guild Wars model. But this is good too!

I bought it in june, and loved it. I also felt that its not worth a subscription, but I will probably pay for expansions and extra character slots if everything they say is free then it'll be totally worth it.

No you're not, I definitely see that too. Also, I'm glad this is being released in English :D

HUZZAH! I figured this one wouldn't make it!

  13. Yeah, while I have nothing against remakes in general, I agree that it's ridiculous to remake a very recent release simply because the original is a foreign film. It makes american audiences seem kind of xenophobic. I mean, there's already talks about remaking The Troll Hunter, for fuck's sake. I can't imagine that movie not losing its soul in the process. I fucking loved how the trolls looked so very different than what you'd see in an american movie. What made that movie so special to me was that it was depicting another country's folklore and legends. To americanize that is to miss the point entirely.
  14. Steam. 5 bucks. Never played the actual card game before, but I tried the demo and liked it. I suck at it pretty bad, though. I've yet to beat the first damn battle on the lowest difficulty....
  15. I have no doubt the original is also excellent, and I actually did look for it but could only find the american version. But since I hear the two are basically identical, I think I'll wait a bit before watching the other version.
  16. Eh, whatever. You guys call it what you want. I don't have the energy to argue about pointless shit like this right now.
  17. It was made once. Then it was made again. Remake.
  18. Watched Let Me In last night. Kinda felt like an asshole for watching the american remake instead of the original, but it was easier to find :/ I thought it was excellent. I especially liked how the girl's vampire side is shown to be this vicious and bloodthirsty predator yet most of the time you just want to hug her and comfort her.
  19. Holy shit! It looks way too sunny and seems like quite the departure from the settings and feel of the previous games, but I just about lost my shit when I heard the violin theme!

I don't know if that's a new voice actor, or if he just completely lost his touch, but damn...

Sounds like the same dude to me and his wiki page says it's him.

    3. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Yeah, sounds like him. Anyways, the feel of the previous games was desperation, struggle, and things along those lines. The story still seems dark despite it taking place in Brazil.

  20. Holy crap! Old lady next door just gave us a NES with boxed copies of Super Mario Bros 2 and 3, and what I think is the japanese version of SMB 2 along with an adapter and what she claims are two brand new controllers O_O Now to hook it up and see if/how well it works!

I don't even know which lady gave it lol. My mom and grandmother pretty much only told me "the lady next door gave this to us" without specifying which one lol Though I agree that thanks are in order. I guess it was taking up space and her grandkids didn't want it and now I'm reaping the benefits. Silly kids and their playboxes!

Oh and the same thing occured to me at first, Chilton. But then I tested it, and no way in hell am I letting go of a fully functional NES! I've actually started looking on ebay for games, and I think I could get both Zelda used for pretty cheap. Question is: how likely are they to work?

  21. Yeah, when I said five years between books I was referring to the last two books. Book 1 through 3 all came out within 2 years of each other. That's a much more reasonable waiting period, imo. As for the four years thing, I guess maybe it was Martin's way of giving himself a deadline? Some kind of motivation to write faster, perhaps. It'd be interesting to hear from him why it took so long for the last two books, though. I can't help but wonder if he got a bit of writer's block or something. If I had to guess, I'd say splitting what was originally book 4 in two probably made things a bit more complicated. But that can't be the only thing at play here.
  22. Well that's the thing. At his current pace (let's say 5 years between books), he might get book 6 out just in time for the show's season 6. I also heard that some of the larger books might extend beyond a single season, which could possibly buy him some time. But I have no source here, so don't quote me on that. But still, unless he starts writing faster, the show is pretty much fucked for book 7.
  23. So, are they wyverns in the show because they made them with only two legs? Or is that detail also mentioned in the books at some point? I'm admittedly only 2 books in, but I don't remember them being referred to as anything but dragons. Because if this dragons having four legs thing is just a random "fantasy fact", then I don't give a shit. They are called dragons in the books/show ergo they are dragons regardless of how many legs the show decided to give them. I mean, we're talking about a fictional fantasy creature here, so who gives a shit... Also What does the length of his contract with HBO has to do with the books' publications? I mean, it's not like HBO is publishing the books. Also, contracts can be renewed when they expire. And four years seems like a ridiculously short time period to adapt an unfinished 7 book series...
